Teleport (Japanese: テレポート Teleport) is a non-damaging Psychic-type move introduced in Generation I. It was TM30 in Generation I.

Effect

In battle

Generation I

Teleport can be used to flee wild Pokémon battles. In Trainer battles, Teleport always fails. Teleport will also fail if the user is under the effect of a partially trapping move such as Wrap.

Generation II

Teleport will fail if the user is afflicted by a move that prevents escape, such as Mean Look. If a Pokémon is holding a Smoke Ball, Teleport will always succeed in wild battles.

Generation III

If an opponent has the Shadow Tag or Arena Trap Ability, Teleport will fail (Pokémon immune to Ground-type attacks are not prevented from teleporting by Arena Trap). Like Mean Look, Block also causes Teleport to fail.

Outside of battle

Teleport warps the player to the last healing spot visited (a Pokémon Center, the player's home, etc.). Teleport can only be used outside, with the same restrictions as Fly, except it cannot be used in towns and cities and there is no choice in where to go.
