Stages
Chocolate whip dollops have three stages, each one smaller than the previous one. They do not revert back to a previous stage and they do not multiply.

Clearability
Chocolate whip gimmicks can be cleared by hitting them with Pokémon combos three times. Megaphones, Café Skills, puzzle powers and boosters will clear them immediately.
Movability
Chocolate whip dollops can be moved around the puzzle if they are pushed by other icons. They become lighter and thus more unstable as they get smaller with each stage.
Trappability
Chocolate whip can be contained by other gimmicks: Mayo, Gummy, Jelly and Rock salt.

- No Pokémon has Chocolate whip as their second or fourth (Hidden) Specialty gimmick.
- Chocolate whip is tied with Milk & berry jam as the gimmicks with the lowest number of Pokémon that specialize on them (5).
- Chocolate whip is virtually a recolored version of the Whipped cream, sharing the same behaviors and characteristics, except there is no Piping bag equivalent for Chocolate whip.
- The sprites for the Chocolate whip existed in the code of the game since early versions from 2020, but it remained unreleased until December 5, 2020 when they were officially released with version 6.40.0.
