Salt and pepper shakers (Japanese:ソルト&ペッパー Salt & Pepper) are a type of gimmick in Pokémon Café ReMix.

Characteristics

Description

Games Description
Café To clear a salt and pepper shaker, make a combo next to it two times while it's open, or hit it with a skill. You won't be able to clear it when it's closed, so be careful!

Stages

Salt and pepper shakers have two stages before being cleared. They do not revert back to a previous stage and they do not multiply.

States

Salt and pepper shakers have two states: open and closed. At the beginning of the order, the Salt and pepper shakers may start in either of the states and they will alternate between the two states every passing turn. However, if they are trapped inside another gimmick, their state will not alternate until they are freed. Normally, Salt and pepper shakers can only be cleared when they are open. Only a link of Pokémon that have the Salt and pepper shakers Specialty gimmick activated can clear a closed Salt and pepper shaker.

Clearability

Salt and pepper shakers can be moved to their next stage by hitting them with a Pokémon combo when they are open. They can be cleared after two hits. Megaphones, Café skills, Puzzle powers, Boosters and Choux pastries will clear them immediately only if they are open. Combos made by Pokémon with the Salt and pepper shakers Specialty gimmick will clear them immediately regardless of their state or stage.

Movability

Salt and pepper shakers are movable with the tendency of falling to the bottom of the puzzle. They will be moved around the puzzle, pushed by other icons, as the player links Pokémon icons or when setting off megaphones or Café Skills.

Trappability

Salt and pepper shakers can be contained by other gimmicks: Olive oil, Bubbles, Ice cubes, Coffee ice cubes, Mayo, Gummies and Jelly.
