Café Skill

Café Skills (Japanese: カフェスキル Café Skills) are special abilities that can be used to clear icons and Gimmicks in Pokémon Café ReMix.
Mechanics

When playing orders in any mode (Main Orders, Extra Orders, Master Café Mode, Training, Daily Training, One-Minute Cooking or Slow Cooking), a Café Skill icon will be generated when the Skill gauge is filled. The Café Skill icon will appear in the puzzle area right where the last Pokémon combo ended.

Café Skill icons
Café Skill icons are light blue circles, or mostly circular shapes, with arrows that indicate the direction of their effects (if applicable). They have a yellow symbol in the center that indicates the focus of their effect:
- Clearing surrounding icons
- Creating/Setting off megaphones
- Replacing surrounding icons
The appearance and effects of the Café Skill icons depend on the Pokémon that is set as a leader to clear an order.
When the Café Skill icons are not activated, they behave like other movable icons in the puzzle that can be pushed around when Pokémon combos are being created. If more Café Skill icons are produced in the following turns, they accumulate in the puzzle area and can sometimes act as obstacles depending on the order. In One-Minute Cooking, Café Skill icons not only accumulate but are also carried over to the next cycle, appearing at the top of the puzzle.
Activating Café Skill icons
In order to set a Café Skill icon off it needs to be dragged around the puzzle and let go of it where the player wants it to activate its effects. This will consume a move. Café Skill icons can also be activated if they are hit by a Megaphone, a Puzzle power, a Booster, a Choux pastry or by another Café Skill icon.
In One-Minute Cooking and Slow Cooking orders, when the player runs out of time or moves respectively (or at the end of each dish in the case of Slow Cooking), any remaining Café Skill icons in the puzzle will be automatically set off.
Combining Café Skill icons
Up to two Café Skill icons can be linked together during a move for an enhanced effect. This will make the Café Skill icon turn green.
Score calculation
Activating Café Skill icons does not produce any score in itself, even when combined. Instead, the calculation is done the same way as when Pokémon combos are made, counting the amount of Pokémon icons and Gimmicks that were cleared because of the skill's effects.
Skill info

Each Pokémon has a distinctive Café Skill effect and Skill gauge that is unlocked from Level 1. It can be checked in the summary screen, as well as the powered-up effect. Café Skills do not have a name but they are identified by their icon, which can be shared between multiple Pokémon, but the description may vary. And even when the description of the skill looks the same between two Pokémon, the actual effects on the puzzle may be different.
Skill gauge
This attribute represents the amount of icons that need to be cleared in order to fill up the Skill Gauge for that Pokémon. When the Skill Gauge is full, a skill icon of the leader Pokémon will appear in the puzzle and the progress of the Skill Gauge is reset. Even if the Skill gauge amount is surpassed during a move, only one Café Skill icon will be produced at a time. The smaller the Skill gauge, the faster it will be to produce skill icons. The icons of the leader Pokémon count double. The Skill gauge attribute often varies between outfits of the same Pokémon and it doesn't change as the Pokémon levels up.
Boosters

If the player taps the Skill Plus icon before playing a puzzle, a Café Skill icon will appear at the beginning of the puzzle.
Starting skill
Rainbow-tier Pokémon as well as Rainbow-tier outfits and Five-star outfits can obtain a Starting skill bonus when they reach Outfit grade 2. This will make a Café Skill icon appear at the beginning of the puzzle when they are set as the leader.
Sidekick bonuses
There are a couple of Sidekick bonuses that affect Café Skills.
Five-star effects

Pokémon that have a Five-star outfit will activate a secondary effect after a Café Skill icon is used. This effect varies depending on the Pokémon and its duration can be increased by upgrading the outfit. The duration of the effect can be stacked up if multiple Café Skill icons are used.
