Stages
Choux pastry gimmicks have two stages. They do not revert back to a previous stage and they do not multiply.

Effects on the puzzle
Choux pastry gimmicks act as explosives. Once they are cleared, they will explode affecting all the icons that surround them: Pokémon icons will be cleared; other gimmicks, including other Choux pastry gimmicks, will be affected according to their own characteristics as if they were hit by a megaphone or Café Skill; and megaphones, Café Skills and Boosters will be set off if they are close.
Clearability
Choux pastry gimmicks will be advanced to their next stage by hitting them with most Pokémon combos; they will be cleared after two hits. Megaphones, Café skills, Puzzle powers, Boosters or combos made by Pokémon with the Choux pastry Specialty gimmick will clear them immediately. Setting off a Choux pastry gimmick could also clear other Choux pastry nearby, creating a chain reaction.
Movability
Choux pastry gimmicks are movable with the tendency of falling to the bottom of the puzzle. They will be moved around the puzzle, pushed by other icons, as the player links Pokémon icons or when setting off megaphones or Café Skills.

Trappability
Choux pastry can be contained by other gimmicks: Olive oil, Bubbles, Ice cubes, Coffee ice cubes, Mayo, Gummies and Jelly.
