Description This highly curious and easygoing Trainer is friendly with everyone and quite easy to get along with. She doesn't worry about the little things and tends to act on instinct.

Selene (Japanese: ミヅキ Mizuki) is a Pokémon Trainer in Pokémon Masters EX, based on the character of the same name in the core series. She forms a sync pair with Rowlet and its evolutions, Dartrix and Decidueye. The sync pair can be obtained through the sync pair scout, starting on April 15, 2021.

Rowlet → Dartrix → Decidueye

Rowlet can evolve into Dartrix once it has reached level 30 through its Sync Pair Story Rowlet's Evolution, and then into Decidueye once it has reached level 45 through its Sync Pair Story Dartrix's Evolution.

Trivia

  • When the pair first released, Selene's Rowlet erroneously had the wrong cry. This was fixed in version 2.9.0.
  • Among the three sync pairs with fully evolved starter Pokémon of Alola, Selene and Decidueye are the only sync pair whose sync move is not based on the partner Pokémon's exclusive Z-Move.
  • Selene has never appeared in a story event or main story area that Elio has not also appeared in. They are the only pair of protagonists with this distinction.
  • So far, it is unclear whether Selene or Elio is based on the player character of the Alola-based games. They both moved from Kanto to Alola, went on the island challenge, and have a Meowth as a family pet.
  • Selene does not know the true identity of the Masked Royal, as shown in the story event Trials on the Isle.

Origin

Selene's design is based on her appearance in Pokémon Sun and Moon. Rowlet is the one of the starter Pokémon of Alola in the core series games. In addition, her Pokémon Adventures counterpart has been depicted with Rowlet and its evolutions. Rowlet, Dartrix, and Decidueye's Dex entries come from Pokémon Ultra Sun.
