The Battle Resort (Japanese: バトルリゾート Battle Resort) is a location in Hoenn. It debuted in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. It is the counterpart to Ruby and Sapphire's Battle Tower and Emerald's Battle Frontier, and is heavily implied to be their predecessor. It is only accessible after the VI is obtained from Norman in Littleroot Town after capturing or defeating Deoxys and completing the Delta Episode. Like its counterparts, it is accessed via the S.S. Tidal from the port in Slateport City or Lilycove City.

Role
When the player arrives for the first time, they are greeted by Wally, who had also received an S.S. Ticket and an invitation to the resort. Following him, the player encounters Archie, Matt, and Shelly/Maxie, Tabitha, and Courtney. The trio thank the player for stopping their nemesis, and rewards them with Sharpedonite/Cameruptite. Upon entering the main area, the player and Wally are given an introduction to the Battle Resort by a Collector; if the player does not already have one, he will give them the Vs. Recorder.

On the southern side of the island, Looker has washed ashore with a bad case of amnesia. A local woman takes him in to her cabin. If the player visits him here, he gives the player an Audinite which he found in his coat pocket.

At the southeast corner of the island, there is a Triathlete who is looking for a new Bike. This Triathlete is one of three NPCs the player needs to talk to in order to be able to obtain both Bikes from Rydel.

Daycare Center
Pokémon Day Care Annex
Daycare Center
Pokémon Day Care
An annex of the Daycare Center on 117 is conveniently located to the east of the Pokémon Center. It possesses all the services of the Daycare on the mainland. Additionally, there is an infinite biking route for hatching and breeding by standing in front of the helper boy in front of the day care and riding left until you hit a corner. Then, you hold up and bike for as long as needed. There is also an IV checker elsewhere on Battle Resort.
An annex of the Pokémon Day Care Center on 117 is located to the east of the Pokémon Center. It possesses all the services of the Pokémon Day Care on the mainland. It is run by the Day Care Lad and his older sister and holds Pokémon separately from the one on Route 117, allowing for two pairs of Pokémon to be bred at once.

Additionally, there is a continuous cycling path for hatching and breeding by standing in front of the Day Care Lad in front of the Day Care and riding sideways (both left and right work) until the player hits a corner, then holding up and cycling for as long as needed.

Stats judge
Inside the Pokémon Center of the resort, there is a stats judge who will read the individual values (IVs) of a selected Pokémon and determine the range of values which the IVs fall under, as well as naming all of its stats that have an IV of 31 or 0 (and make clear which is which).

Sound system
South of the Pokémon Day Care Annex is a Parasol Lady who will offer the change the background music, accepting which will change the background music of the Battle Resort outside to one of several tracks at random. The music will remain the area's background music until she changes it again, even if the player leaves the area.

Music lady
Using any theme other than the Battle Resort theme, cycling and surfing will not change the music. If the player is cycling and changes the theme to Battle Resort, the music that plays at the time will be the cycling theme (although dismounting will result in the Battle Resort theme playing, as normal).
South of the Daycare Center is a Parasol Lady who will offer the change the background music of the area to a random track in the game. The music will remain the area's background music until she is talked to again. The process can be repeated until the desired music is being played.

In Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, the Battle Maison returns from X and Y as the game's battle facility. Once again, progressing far enough through each will result in a battle against one of the Maison's Battle Chatelaines.
There is a replica of the Kalos Battle Maison in the center of the Battle Resort. Progressing far enough through each battle mode will result in a battle against one of the Battle Chatelaines.

Inside the Pokémon Center of the resort, there is a Stats judge who will read the Individual values (IVs) of a selected Pokémon and determine the range of values which the IVs fall under.

Grunt couple
Grunt couple
Two cabins to the right of the Battle Maison are a male Team Magma Grunt and a female Team Aqua Grunt, who have fallen in love and abandoned their teams to be together. While they agree to stay together no matter how their teams decide to punish them, two other grunts arrive to assure them that'll be fine, and offer their blessings.

While they agree to stay together no matter how their teams decide to punish them, two other grunts arrive to assure them that will be fine, and offer their blessings.

After leaving and coming back, the couple tell the player that they have decided to return to their respective teams, hoping to help mediate the tension between the factions. As a sign of their vow, the Magma Grunt and Aqua Grunt give the player their Camerupt and Sharpedo, respectively, that they had raised in honor of the leaders they admired.

Whismur show
Whismur show
Similar to the Patrat show in and the elemental monkey show in Black and White, the player can find a woman with four Whismur northwest of the Battle Maison, who will perform a cup-and-ball mini-game.<!-- According to the woman, each Whismur has a distinctive characteristic: one has the widest eyes, one has the chubbiest cheeks.--> The objective of the game is to guess which Whismur is holding a Valuable item. If the player wins, the Big Mushroom is the prize. If the player loses, he or she may try again until the correct guess is made. The player may only play until winning once per day.
Northwest of the Battle Maison, there is a woman with four Whismur who will perform a cup-and-ball mini-game.<!-- According to the woman, each Whismur has a distinctive characteristic: one has the winsome eyes, one has the fluffiest ears, one has the chubbiest cheeks.--> The objective of the game is to guess which Whismur is holding a Big Mushroom. If the player identifies the correct Whismur, they win the Big Mushroom. If the player loses, they may try again until the correct guess is made. The player can only receive one Big Mushroom per day this way.

On rare occasions, the game may be played with seven more Whismur and, oddly, a Marill. Eight of the Whismur leave after the game, along with the one holding the Big Mushroom, who later switches places with Marill.

This minigame is similar to the Patrat show in and the elemental monkey show in Black and White.

Move Tutors
Move Tutors
Move Tutors are available at the Battle Resort, immediately left of the Pokémon Center. Four Tutors have set up stands next to each other, and will teach Pokémon moves in exchange for Battle Points. The Tutors are not identified in any manner, so the moves taught at each are as follows, in order from left to right:

Battle Frontier project
In the north of the upper section of the island, there is a model of the planned Battle Tower. The sign in front of it mentions that the Battle Frontier project has started, and that the model is that of the planned first facility for the frontier, the Battle Tower.
On the top floor of the Battle Maison, there is a man in a black suit who is acting as a talent scout for Scott. He mentions that he has already scouted the Pike Queen.

Location of Battle Resort in Hoenn.
Pokémon world locations

The Battle Resort (Japanese: バトルリゾート Battle Resort) is a location in Hoenn. It only appears in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.

It is the counterpart to Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire's Battle Tower and Pokémon Emerald's Battle Frontier, and is their predecessor.

It is only accessible after the player obtains the S.S. Ticket, which is obtained from Norman in Littleroot Town after completing the Delta Episode. It is accessed via the S.S. Tidal from the port in Slateport City or Lilycove City.

Role

When the player arrives for the first time, they are greeted by Wally, who had also received an S.S. Ticket and an invitation to the resort. Following him, the player encounters Archie, Matt, and ShellyOR/Maxie, Tabitha, and CourtneyAS. The trio thank the player for stopping their nemesis, and rewards them with SharpedoniteOR/CameruptiteAS.

Places of interest

Pokémon Day Care Annex

Main article: Pokémon Day Care

An annex of the Pokémon Day Care Center on Route 117 is located to the east of the Pokémon Center.

Using any theme other than the Battle Resort theme, cycling and surfing will not change the music. If the player is cycling and changes the theme to Battle Resort, the music that plays at the time will be the cycling theme (although dismounting will result in the Battle Resort theme playing, as normal).

The available tracks are:

Battle Maison Replica

Main article: Battle Maison

There is a replica of the Kalos Battle Maison in the center of the Battle Resort. Progressing far enough through each battle mode will result in a battle against one of the Battle Chatelaines.

Grunt couple

In the second cabin to the right of the Battle Maison there is a male Team Magma Grunt and a female Team Aqua Grunt who have fallen in love and abandoned their teams to be together. While they agree to stay together no matter how their teams decide to punish them, two other grunts arrive to assure them that will be fine, and offer their blessings.

After leaving and entering again, the couple tell the player that they have decided to return to their respective teams, hoping to help mediate the tension between the teams. As a sign of their vow, the Team Magma Grunt and Team Aqua Grunt give the player their Camerupt and Sharpedo, respectively, that they had raised in honor of the leaders they admired.

Whismur show

Northwest of the Battle Maison, there is a woman with four Whismur who will perform a cup-and-ball mini-game. The objective of the game is to guess which Whismur is holding a Big Mushroom.

This minigame is similar to the Patrat show in Black and White and the elemental monkey show in Black 2 and White 2.

Move Tutors

Move Tutors are available at the Battle Resort, immediately left of the Pokémon Center. Four Tutors have set up stands next to each other, and will teach Pokémon moves in exchange for Battle Points.

Trivia

 • A Gentleman in one of the houses is a famous Trainer from a foreign country. In the English versions, he speaks Japanese, while in Japanese and non-English European versions, he speaks English (with minor variations depending on the language). He says: "I see. I can tell just by looking at you that you're not a run-of-the-mill Trainer. I recommend that you keep on training and then compete with the world's best at the Pokémon World Championships." (Japanese: 「フム⋯⋯ みただけで わかるよ キミは ただもの ではない トレーナーだ そのうでを さらに みがいて せかい⋯⋯ ポケモンワールドチャンピオンシップスに チャレンジすることを おススメするよ」)
 • The types of Pokémon that the beachside Trainers use are the five remaining types not used by the Gym Leaders, Elite Four, and Champion of Hoenn.
 • The continuous cycling path near the Day Care annex is exactly 256 steps long.
