Description | This friendly Pokémon Professor from Lumiose City in Kalos is researching the mysteries of Mega Evolution. His hobby is sampling food from cafés while walking around town. |
Professor Sycamore (Japanese: プラターヌ Platane) is a Pokémon Trainer in Pokémon Masters EX, based on the character of the same name in the core series. He forms a sync pair with Xerneas. This sync pair was first made available on February 11, 2021. This pair can be raised to 6★ EX beginning on January 12, 2022. However, unlike other sync pairs, this pair cannot be upgraded with Champion Spirits - only Custom Legendary Spirits from the Villain Event Battle! Friends from Kalos can be used.
Professor Sycamore also forms a sync pair with his Bulbasaur. This pair can be obtained by reaching Friendship Level 100 with Professor Sycamore in the Trainer Lodge.
Xerneas
Raising this sync pair to 6★ EX will unlock Song Key 06007, which allows "Battle! (Professor Sycamore) (Pokémon Masters EX Version)" to be played in the Jukebox.

Trivia
Origin
Professor Sycamore's design is based on his appearance in Pokémon X and Y. Xerneas is a Pokémon that Sycamore is not seen owning in the core series games, however, it does parallel Lysandre's partner Yveltal, Xerneas's counterpart. Xerneas's Dex entry comes from Pokémon X.
Bulbasaur is a Pokémon that Professor Sycamore can gift to the player in X and Y. He also uses it alongside the other Kanto starter Pokémon to battle the player. Bulbasaur's Dex entry comes from Ruby and Sapphire.
