* Prior to version 2.22.0, there was a spacing issue with all Trainer names that contain apostrophes, including Marnie (Palentine's 2022): in level-up screens, these names each had a single-character-long gap between their apostrophe and the letter S. For example, Palentine's 2022 was displayed as "Palentine' s 2022."

Description This Trainer from Spikemuth in the Galar region hopes to become Champion to liven up her hometown. Her battle tactics and cute appearance have earned her many fans.

Marnie (Japanese: マリィ Mary) is a Pokémon Trainer in Pokémon Masters EX, based on the character of the same name in the core series games. She forms a sync pair with Morpeko. The sync pair can be obtained through a limited sync pair scout, and was first available on February 26, 2021.

Marnie is also available in her summer attire, where she forms a sync pair with Grimmsnarl. The sync pair could be obtained through a limited-time seasonal sync pair scout. Like Morpeko, this pair is able to upgrade to 6★ EX.

Marnie is also available in her Palentine's attire partnered alongside Mawile, which is capable of Mega Evolving. The pair could be obtained through a limited-time seasonal sync pair scout and was first available on January 31, 2022. This pair is also capable of being upgraded 6★ EX from when the pair was first released.

Morpeko

Raising this sync pair to 6★ EX will unlock Song Key 08002, which allows "Battle! (Marnie) (Pokémon Masters EX Version)" to be played in the Jukebox.

Trivia

  • Marnie is one of a few Trainers to have two seasonal outfits.
  • Ignoring Scottie and Bettie, Marnie is one of a very few Trainers to form three tech sync pairs.
    • No other Trainer exclusively formed three tech sync pairs.
  • Marnie (Palentine's 2022) & Mawile are the first zone-setting sync pair not to be from Sinnoh.
  • Marnie is one of the two Trainers whose type doesn't match their speciality type in any of their sync pairs. The other is Hala.
  • Prior to version 2.22.0, there was a spacing issue with all Trainer names that contain apostrophes, including Marnie (Palentine's 2022): in level-up screens, these names each had a single-character-long gap between their apostrophe and the letter S. For example, Palentine's 2022 was displayed as "Palentine' s 2022."

Origin

Marnie's design is based on her appearance in Pokémon Sword and Shield. Morpeko is one of Marnie's main Pokémon in the core series games. Full Belly Mode Morpeko's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Shield. Hangry Mode Morpeko's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Sword.

Grimmsnarl is Marnie's other main Pokémon in the core series games. Grimmsnarl's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Sword.

Marnie does not own a Mawile outside this game. Mawile's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Ultra Sun.
