Biology
Audino is a bipedal, blue-eyed, pink-and-cream-colored Pokémon. The upper section of its face is pink, as are its floppy ears, exempting the cream-colored tips and curled lower extensions. It can use these ears as radars, and it has an incredible hearing ability. The sides of its chest and arms are also pink, somewhat resembling a jacket, although the tips of its forelimbs are cream. Trivia
- Audino is available in all patches of rustling grass in Pokémon Black and White.
- Because of its availability and its high Exp. yield, battling wild Audino in rustling grass is a fast way for Pokémon to gain experience.
- Audino is the only Pokémon that has a base stat total of 445.
Origin
Audino seems to be based on a rabbit with features of a nurse or physician, with its ears acting as stethoscopes. The feelers on its ears also resemble a cochlea, the auditory part of the inner ear.
Name origin
Audino may be derived from audio and a pun on the phrase "I dunno." It may also refer to the suffix ino (which denotes youth) or involve din (loud noise, referring to the fact that it has stethoscopes for ears). Its name could also be a portmanteau of audio and lapin, a term for rabbit.
Tabunne may be derived from 多分ね tabun ne ("maybe") or 多聞 tabun ("many are heard"). It may also derive from 耳たぶ mimitabu (earlobe).
