Effect
[[[Generation III]]
Skill Swap will exchange the abilities of the user and the target.
[[[Generation III]]
Same as before, except now the abilities Wonder Guard and Multitype cannot be Skill Swapped.

Trivia
- All move variations of Skill Swap have "swap" in their name.
- In Generation III, Skill Swap was able to transfer Shedinja's Wonder Guard, thereby giving a Pokémon immunity to all non-Super Effective moves. For example, if Wonder Guard were Skill Swapped onto a Kingdra, the Kingdra could only be hurt by Dragon-type moves, as that is its only weakness. Skill Swapping Wonder Guard onto a Sableye would result in a Pokémon that could not be hurt directly by any type, because Sableye's Dark/Ghost typing has no weaknesses. Since Generation IV, Skill Swap can no longer transfer Shedinja's Wonder Guard.
- Solosis's evolutionary family are the only Pokémon able to learn Skill Swap via leveling up.
