Hareta

Hareta (Japanese: ハレタ) is the main character of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl Adventure and the adopted grandson of Professor Rowan. He is loosely based on Lucas, although his hairstyle is very different. Hareta is an energetic and athletic young boy who likes playing with wild Pokémon. He has the ability to easily communicate with Pokémon, so he lived in a forest with them for four years. Rowan eventually contacted him again when he wanted Hareta's assistance in finding Dialga. He has a habit of trying to eat anything that is available, as seen in his Poké Ball, badge, and even his Pokémon Piplup.

• Piplup - Hareta chose Piplup as his partner to save Mitsumi from a rampaging Onix in the forest. It later evolved into Prinplup and Empoleon.
• Shinx - Caught to show Mitsumi and Jun he could catch a Pokémon. Shinx evolved into Luxio while on Iron Island.
• Misdreavus - Caught in Eterna Forest and Hareta has since used its Scary Face to scare Mitsumi and Gardenia.
• Onix - Caught on Iron Island.
• Riolu - Hareta was given the egg containing Riolu by Riley. Riolu evolved into Lucario in the battle against Candice.
