Hi there! I'm Blazingfist! My username comes from the move Fire Punch, but also refers a bit to my absolute favorite Pokémon, Blaziken. My real name is Thomas and I live in The Netherlands. I'm 31 years old. I'm a huge fan of the anime and the games.

I've been active on Bulbapedia for over 5 years now (+ 1/2 year if you count my first account Tomazzo (December 2007 - May 2008). In that time, I have cleared up a lot of old pages that needed a sufficient clean-up (such as Kanto and Johto CotD articles), added missing info and created new pages that were needed. I hope to be able Bulbapedia as much as I can even more so in the future.

In March 2014 I became a Junior Administrator. In April 2015 I was promoted to Administrator and in February 2020 to Senior Administrator. Don't hesitate to ask me Bulbapedia-related questions, I'm happy to help everyone. You can also contact me on Bulbagarden Forums where my name is Neo Blaze and I'm currently serving as an Admin.

Me and Pokémon

The first time I came into contact with Pokémon was through the anime. The very first episode I ever saw was The Bridge Bike Gang when I was about six or seven years old. From then on I watched Pokémon every morning in the weekends and saw most of the Original series. The series lost me for a few years, but nowadays I try to watch every episode again. My favorite Pokémon movie is Spell of the Unown.

Even though I followed the anime series from very early on, I started playing the games some time later because I never had a GameBoy. On my tenth birthday, I got a GameCube and I bought Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness after that. It was my very first Pokémon game. Years later, I bought a Nintendo DS Lite with Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team. After that, I bought Diamond, Platinum, HeartGold, Black and Black 2. And I also bought an old Ruby cartridge. I obtained a copy of Pokémon Colosseum, which I always wanted to try out after playing XD. I also bought a 3DS, on which I play Y, Omega Ruby, Sun and Ultra Moon. Since December 2019 I own a Switch with Sword.

I have good memories of the TCG. I never played the game itself, but I always traded the cards at school with friends. I still have a book full of old TCG cards.

I love Nintendo! Pokémon is my favorite series, but I also like the Mario series, and The Legend of Zelda. I also like Sonic the Hedgehog. As mentioned above, I own a Nintendo DS Lite, but I also own a Wii and an old Xbox with an enormous amount of games.

Shinies

  • I have a collection of nearly 1800 Shinies
  • Most Shinies I have come from weekly Giveaways
  • I also have a great deal of Shinies from Link Trades with both friends and strangers
  • I have also saved a lot of Shinies from the GTS. This is mainly thanks to having a Living Dex and having access to any Pokémon in existence.
  • I have 31 random encounter Shinies, Shinies that I encountered completely randomly without hunting for them whatsoever. These include Cresselia (from Black 2) and Azelf (from Ultra Moon)
  • My very first Shiny was an Oddish in the original Ruby. I encountered it in the Safari Zone. It’s a Vileplume now and I still have it
  • I only have 3 Shinies that I bred from Eggs. These were hatched completely randomly. They are two Rockruff in Moon Balls and an Alolan Rattata in a Heavy Ball. I’m too impatient for the Masuda Method and have never liked breeding for Shinies
  • Despite being too impatient for the Masuda Method, I have caught a lot of Shinies with chain fishing. This is the only Shiny hunting method I have actively enjoyed (outside of GTS hunting).
