* Prior to version 2.22.0, there was a spacing issue with all Trainer names that contain apostrophes, including Dawn (Palentine's 2021): in level-up screens, these names each had a single-character-long gap between their apostrophe and the letter S. For example, Palentine's 2021 was displayed as "Palentine' s 2021." | |||

Description | This friendly and upbeat Trainer packs quite a punch, thanks to her travels in Sinnoh. Despite her skill as a Trainer, she can be a little scatterbrained at times. |
Dawn (Japanese: ヒカリ Hikari) is a Pokémon Trainer in Pokémon Masters EX, based on the character of the same name in the core series games. She forms a sync pair with Turtwig and its evolutions, Grotle and Torterra. The sync pair can be obtained through the sync pair scout, starting from May 28, 2020. The pair's potential can be upgraded to 6★ EX from December 7, 2020, which unlocks Dawn's EX Style.
Dawn is also available in her Palentine's attire partnered alongside Alcremie. The pair could be obtained through a limited-time seasonal sync pair scout and was first available on February 1, 2021. This pair is also capable of being upgraded to 6★ EX from the time the pair was first released.
Dawn is also available in her Sygna Suit, forming a sync pair with Cresselia. This sync pair is available through a limited sync pair scout and was first made available on February 14, 2022. The pair's potential can be upgraded to 6★ EX, which unlocks Dawn's EX Style.
Turtwig → Grotle → Torterra
Turtwig can evolve into Grotle once it has reached level 30 through its Sync Pair Story Turtwig's Evolution, and then into Torterra once it has reached level 45 through its Sync Pair Story Grotle's Evolution.

Trivia
- Dawn has the widest gap between her debut and her male counterpart's, Lucas's—being at 595 days.
- Dawn is based on the player character from the Sinnoh games, for she mentions growing up in Twinleaf Town and claims that Lucas is Professor Rowan's assistant from Sandgem Town.
- Since version 2.5.0, Dawn's line for using a sync move changed from "Ready or not, here we come!" to "We're gonna win!"
- Prior to version 2.17.0, Dawn (Palentine's 2021) exclusively used the same lines as her regular counterpart, but ever since that version arrived, they only share lines 2 and 3 in their profiles' numbered voice samples. This version of Dawn shares these qualities with Serena (Palentine's 2021).
- Prior to version 2.22.0, there was a spacing issue with all Trainer names that contain apostrophes, including Dawn (Palentine's 2021): in level-up screens, these names each had a single-character-long gap between their apostrophe and the letter S. For example, Palentine's 2021 was displayed as "Palentine' s 2021."
Origin
Dawn's design is based on her appearance in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. Turtwig is one of the starter Pokémon of Sinnoh in the core series games. Turtwig and Torterra's Dex entries come from Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, and Grotle's from Pokémon Diamond.
Dawn is not seen to own an Alcremie outside this game. Alcremie's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Sword.
Cresselia is a roaming Legendary Pokémon the player can catch in Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum and their remakes, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. It also parallels Cyrus's Sygna Suit partner, Darkrai, which Cresselia has a shared history with. Cresselia's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Diamond and Pearl.
