Cutiefly is a tiny Pokémon with comparatively large wings. It has a pale yellow body with a white face and tail. It has large eyes with spots resembling pixels in them, a long brown proboscis, and two tiny transparent tufts on its head resembling antennae. The wings on its back are wide and flat. They are white with brown loop markings toward the bottom and have a white tuft of hair between them. It has four spindly legs with round feet.
Cutiefly is a tiny {{OBP|Pokémon|species}} with a pair of comparatively large wings. It has a pale yellow body with a white face and tail. It has large eyes with spots resembling pixels in them, a long brown proboscis, and two tiny transparent tufts on its head resembling antennae. It has wide, flat white wings with a brown loop marking toward the bottom. In between its wings is a white tuft of fuzz. It has four spindly legs with round feet.

Cutiefly is capable of detecting the aura of living things, such as plants, people, and Pokémon. It uses this ability to predict the movements of its opponents. It collects nectar and pollen from flowers, which are found by the color and brightness of their auras. However, when a living creature is excited, its aura resembles flower in full bloom. As a result, Cutiefly tends to gather around beings feeling strong emotions. This Pokémon can be found in fields and meadows, but is sometimes attracted to towns or buildings by the emotions of living beings.<ref>http://www.pokemon-sunmoon.com/en-us/pokemon/cutiefly/</ref> Loving nectar and pollen, it often gets into skirmishes with {{p|Butterfree}} over food. {{p|Spinarak}} is a natural predator of Cutiefly.
Cutiefly is capable of detecting the aura of living things, such as plants, people, and Pokémon. It uses this ability to predict the movements of its opponents. Cutiefly's diet consists of pollen and nectar, drinking it through its long proboscis. Any pollen it does not finish is stored in its fur. It collects nectar and pollen from flowers, which are found by the color and brightness of their auras. However, when a living creature is excited, its aura resembles a flower in full bloom. As a result, Cutiefly tends to gather around beings feeling strong emotions. When Cutiefly draws close, it will painfully poke them with its long proboscis. It is known to be drawn in by {{p|Fomantis}}'s sweet scent and {{p|Gossifleur}}'s pollen. {{p|Spinarak}} and {{p|Pineco}} are natural predators of Cutiefly.

Cutiefly (Japanese: アブリー Abuly) is a dual-type Bug/Fairy Pokémon introduced in Generation VII.

It evolves into Ribombee starting at level 25.

Biology

Cutiefly is a tiny Pokémon with a pair of comparatively large wings.

This Pokémon can be found in fields and meadows but is sometimes attracted to towns or buildings by the emotions of living beings.[1] Loving nectar and pollen, it often gets into skirmishes with Butterfree over food. It is known to be drawn in by Fomantis's sweet scent and Gossifleur's pollen. Spinarak and Pineco are natural predators of Cutiefly.

Cutiefly is one of the shortest Pokémon in existence. Additionally, it is the lightest Bug-type Pokémon in existence.

You can often see Cutiefly around the flower beds at the research camp. They just love the flowers here. I’ve heard that they can tell which flowers are about to bloom by reading their auras.

Trivia

Origin

Cutiefly appears to be based on the bee fly, specifically the species Anastoechus nitidulus. It may also be inspired by the fairyfly or a fairy.

Name origin

Cutiefly may be a combination of cutie and fly (including bee fly, fairyfly, butterfly, etc.), and a play on the phrase "cutie pie".

Abuly may be a combination of 吊虻 tsuriabu (bee fly), lovely, and フェアリー fairy.
