baby text follow up

So, the new updated baby Template:Cardtext/Baby template you mentioned me does not support this card. Thought I'd let you know! :) MannedTooth (Talk) 13:40, 14 September 2016 (UTC)

UPDATE: It won't support any of the babies of Aquapolis. MannedTooth (Talk) 14:11, 14 September 2016 (UTC)
I have addressed this issue one year ago Sunday, and we will get to it. MaverickNate 15:02, 14 September 2016 (UTC)

card infobox print

Shouldn't the card shown in the info box of this card be the most recent one (EX Power Keepers) ? It has the same code in the same order than this one, which shows the most recent one. How do you do that? MannedTooth (Talk) 15:55, 15 September 2016 (UTC)

It cycles on a timer. glikglak 17:10, 15 September 2016 (UTC)

CP6

Hi. I was just wondering for the cards from the Expansion Pack 20th Anniversary subset, are we redirecting to the original Base Set article or creating a new article? — Ruixiang95 20:53, 15 September 2016 (UTC)

Only reprints are ever redirected to their original article. If the card features any gameplay-differing differences, then it is considered a brand new card. If the card plays the same as its retro print, then it should be redirected to the Original Era card, as it is only then considered a reprint. MaverickNate 20:59, 15 September 2016 (UTC)
Actually, may I know the difference between Charmeleon (Base Set 24) and Charmeleon (Expansion Pack 20th 10)? And if so, may I request to have a check on the CP6 articles I recently created and delete accordingly? — Ruixiang95 21:04, 15 September 2016 (UTC)
All the articles you've created so far are fine. Kakuna has a different attack effect for Stiffen, causing the attack to play differently. Mew has an Ability instead of a Pokémon Power, which makes the Expansion Pack 20th Anniversary Mew interact with cards like Garbodor while the Original Era Mew would not. Koffing is Psychic type and not Grass type, making it interact with different cards' Weaknesses and Resistances. Charmeleon's attack damages are different. Honestly I'm expecting there to be far fewer exact reprints than brand new cards. I was actually pretty surprised when I looked at Caterpie and realized they were the same. MaverickNate 21:13, 15 September 2016 (UTC)
So apparently, only Caterpie and Weedle are exact reprints. I have make a mistake on Hitmonchan (Expansion Pack 20th 60) and realized that they are two different cards, because of the HP and attack damages. I may have accidentally blanked the article, and I apologize for any inconvenience caused. — Ruixiang95 04:26, 16 September 2016 (UTC)
Not a problem! Thanks for seeing something happen with the other cards and coming to me to ask about it! MaverickNate 09:19, 16 September 2016 (UTC)

TCG vs tt template

So, while I understand the uses of when we link a Ppkémon to its TCG card page when talking about the card name, but can you explain this edit ? I would like to know why we shouldn't use the tt template instead, it makes it read as Search your deck for a card that evolves from this Pokémon which is more than accurate. Anyway, I've undone this one too in case it should stay like it was. I'm waiting for your input on this ! :) MannedTooth (Talk) 01:17, 25 September 2016 (UTC)

A card that evolves from Vulpix won't only evolve from the specific EX Hidden Legends Vulpix, but any card printed with the name Vulpix. Thus, that reference isn't only talking about that specific card and is linked accordingly. MaverickNate 01:21, 25 September 2016 (UTC)

adding merchandise

Let's say that I want to add merchandise to the page that doesn't have it. For example this one. How shall I proceed? Because I saw that many were missing. MannedTooth (Talk) 00:58, 26 September 2016 (UTC)

Find the appropriate Series of merchandise it belongs to, along with any relevant news stories, tweets, and images on Bulbanews and Archives. Post it chronologically with all of those links on the merchandise page, with a paragraph or two that includes all there is to know about the products and any exclusive merch inside them, written in such a way that makes the prose for that section distinct from the ones before it. (That page for this set of tins would be this one.) Give the section any relevant subsections like Promo cards and Product images. MaverickNate 01:28, 27 September 2016 (UTC)
The XY BREAK Series merchandise page is at least 30 products behind, so as with everything, it is preferred slash advised that as many are posted in as few edits as possible rather than adding each individual product one by one. MaverickNate 01:31, 27 September 2016 (UTC)

template modification

This template needs to be updated to accept at least 16 cards (15 current) in order to add every print of this card. MannedTooth (Talk) 15:03, 27 September 2016 (UTC)

You're probably working on this at the very moment, but just to let you know, you forgot a "|" after the line | style="display:none;" |* and so for every line after a 3rd consecutive print (so 4, 7, 10, 13, 16, 19, etc.) MannedTooth (Talk) 20:32, 27 September 2016 (UTC)

Viewing articles in a cross-section of categories

Hey man, been awhile. I just started a desk job where I have a fair amount of down time, so I figure I'll do a little work in my free time. Anyway, quick question that I should know the answer to: is there anywhere I can put in two or more categories and see all the article that are in both/all of said categories? Thanks. --Politoed666 21:25, 27 September 2016 (UTC)

Hey there! Glad to see you back! From what I can tell, I don't think this exists. I looked into the Special pages too, and don't see anything that looks like it will do what you want. Sorry I can't be any help! MaverickNate 23:46, 27 September 2016 (UTC)
A relatively simple solution would be to do two searches and exclude one from the other. Like search for incategory:"Mythical Pokémon" and then incategory:"Generation VI Pokémon" -incategory:"Mythical Pokémon". Tiddlywinks (talk) 00:05, 28 September 2016 (UTC)

Quick question!

Hi! I'm fairly new here, and while flipping through random pages to look for things that need editing, I noticed that the image we have for EX Legend Maker Aron has some sort of funky scuff mark (maybe pen?) near the 20 for Headbutt's damage. Is there a way we could get a better image? Is there someone else I should notify to get a better picture? (If I had the card I would scan it myself but alas...) I'm still finding my way around here so thanks for any help! Terra Antiqua (talk) 21:54, 7 October 2016 (UTC)

Evolutions

I mean, I don't want to direct traffic to the TCG without your consent :P ..but I knew about the hatnote, which I think is just fine for those who type in "Evolution" and expect to land at the TCG expansion. And it's really hard for me to imagine how someone typing in "Evolutions" is that much more likely to look for the concept rather than the expansion that a hatnote is the way to go. I was actually torn between a disambiguation and a redirect to the TCG (and another hatnote there). So, are you really sure? Or is there maybe something more to it, something I'm missing? Nescientist (talk) 23:11, 1 November 2016 (UTC)

I try my best to avoid disambiguations, so I've redirect Evolutions to the expansion and added new hatnotes there. MaverickNate 08:16, 3 November 2016 (UTC)

Hyper Rares.

Just a quick question to be sure. For the purpose of the Full Art card page, the new Hyper Rares count as Full Arts, right? Or will they be considered something else? Metalizard (talk) 19:13, 13 December 2016 (UTC)

Yeah. I think it is fine to say that they are. MaverickNate 22:48, 13 December 2016 (UTC)

SM001 Sun & Moon

Hi. Just wondering if I'm good to go or would you want to upload the images before I do the edits. Just to inform you, I have already done ALL the Pokémon (excluding Trainer/GX/Rare Secret/Rare Ultra/Hyper Rare), all I need is to press submit for all of them. And for Cosmog, Cosmoem, and Eevee having the Collection Sun and Collection Moon Pokédex entries differences and the English entries having use the Pokémon Sun Dex entries. Should I put as "Sun & Moon/Collection Sun prints" or "Sun & Moon print"? And they have made changes of "his or her hand" into "their" hand, should I just leave it with "their" on the article? — Ruixiang95 09:24, 22 January 2017 (UTC)

I won't be getting to scans anytime soon, so they are good to go as is. Change all instances to "their" since that is what is written as the cardtext now. Follow the precedence listed on Slurpuff (Generations RC20); list "Pokédex entry (Sun & Moon print)" and "Pokédex entry (Collection Moon print)". MaverickNate 17:32, 22 January 2017 (UTC)
I know we will be diverting to Category:Holofoil cards soon, so should I add that or Category:Holographic cards now to the Holofoil of Sun & Moon. Currently doing the items so I thought I asked. — Ruixiang95 01:55, 23 January 2017 (UTC)
Category:Holographic cards is fine for now. MaverickNate 02:46, 23 January 2017 (UTC)
So should I leave Nest Ball and Rotom Dex in the Holofoil category currently, because if not, that would make Holofoil be an empty Category article. Also, is the four Rare Secret ITEMS in Sun & Moon just Holographic and Secret or Full art as well since I saw Glik putting Full art in also? Thanks. — Ruixiang95 03:08, 23 January 2017 (UTC)
Either is fine. One of the categories is going to end up empty eventually anyway. Sun & Moon secret items are Holo, Secret, and Full Art. MaverickNate

Pokemon-GX page

Hey there. I don't know if you've seen my last response in my Talk page but I just finished the page: Pokémon-GX. Check it to see if everything is okay. Metalizard (talk) 18:08, 29 January 2017 (UTC)

It looks really good! Thank you! I appreciate the work you put into the TCG here. MaverickNate 21:12, 29 January 2017 (UTC)
Cool, man. Glad you liked it. btw, I wanted to ask you about something else. The last time I updated the Full Art card page, I added the recent UR Double Colorless Energy from SM1+ to the list, however, first, I don't know if it is supposed to be considered a Full Art and second, if it is, I'm guessing the template has to be updated (or there's a way to do it and I don't know) cause I can't make it to show the entry for the card properly (namely, it shows the fire energy symbol by default instead of the colorless energy symbol after the 'E'). I ended up hiding the entry in the code for now. Metalizard (talk) 21:45, 29 January 2017 (UTC)
I'll look into it sometime soon. MaverickNate 06:42, 30 January 2017 (UTC)

Note that needs to be modified

These cards' foot note must be modified to make the last sentence (the one in parantheses) italic. MannedTooth (Talk) 20:32, 14 February 2017 (UTC)

2016 World Championships Decks

I created them in my usersapce, as I wasn't sure whether I should mainspace them without pictures. Also, I don't know whether it should be "Bebe" or "Bebe Deck". I was hoping maybe you could continue from there!? Nescientist (talk) 13:38, 25 March 2017 (UTC)

To make life easier, and because I believe those are by TPCi (I'm new to this), you (or any other TCG staff) might be able to grab images from here: 1 2 3 4.
Also, links to the created pages are here: 1 2 3 4. Thanks. Nescientist (talk) 21:40, 9 April 2017 (UTC)
I'll do that right away! Good job on the deck pages! Sorry I missed this. Keep up the good work! MaverickNate 23:07, 9 April 2017 (UTC)

Sun & Moon Expansion 3

If it's okay with you, I have made a page about To Have Seen The Battle Rainbow/Darkness That Consumes Light. There was a picture with the card packs, with one featuring Ho-Oh, the other featuring Necrozma. It also shows the release date for its debut in Japan, along with the number 150. I'm not sure if that's the total amount of the cards in the set.

Also, I saw said picture online.--Hamfart 17:55, 27 March 2017 (UTC)

Nice! Thank you! MaverickNate 23:07, 9 April 2017 (UTC)

Regarding TCG cards that have different effects in different languages

Hello, Maverick Nate. I have noticed that several cards like this Grimer have differences between the English and Japanese release. I was wondering if it would be alright to create a category to note these cards. --Super goku (talk) 22:26, 11 April 2017 (UTC)

I think that a category for now would be acceptable. MaverickNate 22:29, 11 April 2017 (UTC)

TFG conditions.

Not sure if it's good idea to link Duel figures to that article, since paralysis works differently than in TFG (for reference, it now always chooses the smallest non-miss piece and turns it into Miss; this will affect all instances of that piece like the four dodges on Metagross). Should I add the conditions/markers that are in Duel or would that be better suited for a separate article? Eridanus (talk) 22:48, 11 April 2017 (UTC)

Looking at it, I think a separate page at Special Conditions (Duel) would be better suited for this situation. Otherwise, I'm not the person taking charge of this side game, given that I haven't ever played it, I'm simply filling in the jname and jtrans for attacks and Abilities. It may be worth asking MisterE13 for his opinion, as he is the user taking charge of this side game. That being said, if you could add the jname and jtrans for Dodge and Miss going forward, I would appreciate it. They are |jname=ミス|jtrans=Miss for Miss and |jname=かわす|jtrans=Dodge for Dodge. MaverickNate 22:57, 11 April 2017 (UTC)

Pokémon Legend image link

https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/File:Pok%C3%A9mon_LEGEND.png

I noticed on this page that most if not all pages that are noted to link to the image do not contain a link or even the image itself on their pages. Most of the card pages are from the Delta Species era of the TCG. Whereas cards such as Lugia which do use and link to the image are not listed as linking to that image. Is this an error or did I miss something when looking through the card pages? Frozen Fennec 17:43, 8 June 2017 (UTC)

You'll want to take a look at the full list over here. Your list is only showing the 100 pages created the longest ago. All the LEGENDS appear at the bottom of the total pages, since their era is after the initial creation of all the EX Series pages. Other than that, I believe the other pages are simply using an old template that is being phased out anyway, so there shouldn't be an issue after all is said and done. MaverickNate 20:22, 11 June 2017 (UTC)

Alternate prints from Best of XY

Quick question: Are the alternate prints (originally from the Best of XY) released in the Mega Powers Collection supposed to be added to their respective set pages (e.g: M-Lucario-EX FA added to Furious Fists set page) or something else like a page listing them? Metalizard (talk) 16:29, 14 June 2017 (UTC)

I was thinking we make some sort of promo page for them, but then also include them in the Additional cards list on the set pages. If any come up as alternates for black star promos, then listing them in-line with the rest of the promotional cards. Does that cover all the bases? From what I know about the alternate cards, I do believe that covers it. MaverickNate 23:45, 15 June 2017 (UTC)
Ok, I think I got it. I'll create a page using the same template from the Miscellaneous promo cards/Jumbo cards (I think it's the one that fits the most in this case) and also list them in their set page like you said. Just one more question for now: The official site uses the term "Yellow A Alternate cards". I was thinking about making that the page name but also mention in the text that they are commonly referred to Alternate art prints (or something along those lines). Is that okay? Metalizard (talk) 15:55, 16 June 2017 (UTC)
I just finished the page. See if everything is okay: Yellow A Alternate cards. Metalizard (talk) 19:40, 19 June 2017 (UTC)

Ability List

Sorry it's been something like a year, but I finally finished going through the Japanese exclusives on the Pokémon Power list and I'm wondering how you'd like me to go about starting the list for Abilities (as there is currently no TCG-specific page for it), as well as how the Power table template should be changed to fit Abilites. Thanks! Yuvira (Talk) 20:52, 16 June 2017 (UTC)

I'll get back to you on this. MaverickNate 01:12, 23 June 2017 (UTC)

Evolutions reprints

Should the cards with re-used art in Evolutions count towards updating an illustrator in the List of TCG illustrators, or should they be left alone? Yuvira (Talk) 07:30, 18 June 2017 (UTC)

Yes. MaverickNate 01:12, 23 June 2017 (UTC)

New TCG page - Pokemon Snap Contest Winning Photos

While going through and adding links or updating TCG pages I noticed a few of the pages make note of Pokemon Snap contest winning photos. Does this warrant a page or is it fine to just move on and not give that a tcg page of its own? Frozen Fennec 15:26, 21 June 2017 (UTC)

I don't understand the question. What page in particular? MaverickNate 01:12, 23 June 2017 (UTC)
Poliwag (Base Set 59) for example, however; after writing this I realized they already had their own page covering them on Illustration contests Frozen Fennec 01:17, 23 June 2017 (UTC)

TCG linking

Sorry for bothering again, I noticed when checking the main tcg pages for Pokemon that it states the Pokémon species names but does not link to that Pokémon's article. Would it be ok if I added links to their pages? Their pages link back to the tcg pages Frozen Fennec 01:38, 23 June 2017 (UTC)

The header of each table on those pages is the link. MaverickNate 01:39, 23 June 2017 (UTC)
Do you mean the link for the National Pokédex order? I checked but don't see the link. For example Bulbasaur's tcg section has a link to the TCG list for their appearances in the TCG but the TCG page itself does not have a link back to the Bulbasaur article itself. Frozen Fennec 01:44, 23 June 2017 (UTC)
The header of the table here, above the line "Cards listed with a blue background are only legal to use in the current Expanded format." is the link back. MaverickNate 01:45, 23 June 2017 (UTC)
Oh, I see it now, thank you Maverick Nate, I appreciate the help. Frozen Fennec 01:47, 23 June 2017 (UTC)

TCG section at the Mega Evolution article

I was just wondering if you'd like to just link this section to the main Pokémon-EX article instead of listing them twice on both articles? — Ruixiang95 03:53, 10 July 2017 (UTC)

And would you like the Pokémon-EX article to include Standard and Expanded format coloring? (I will do it after the new format announcement, which should be coming soon) — Ruixiang95 04:17, 10 July 2017 (UTC)

SM4 Japanese names

Are we translating the SM4 Japanese expansions as "The Awoken Hero • The Transdimensional Beast"? I thought I asked before creating the page. And while I am here, can I request for deletion of my userspace pages: this, this, this, this, this and this? Thanks ;) — Ruixiang95 02:37, 23 July 2017 (UTC)

If you want a userspace page deleted put delete at the top of the page you want removed and wait for an admin to get to it. Yuvira (Talk) 03:34, 23 July 2017 (UTC)
Hi Yuvira. It's been stated in the Userspace policy that "...delete multiple pages...then contact an...Editorial Board member on their talk page." So since I have more than 1 pages to be deleted, I can choose to contact them. — Ruixiang95 03:50, 23 July 2017 (UTC)
I've deleted the pages. As for the set names, I've ultimately gone with Awakened Heroes and Ultradimensional Beasts. As a general rule, set names don't contain any of the articles a, an or the, unless they are linguistically forced to. Additionally, Pokémon has always officially treated the past tense of the word wake to be "awakened", and has literally never used "awoken" (Legends Awakened, Pokémon the Movie: Genesect and the Legend Awakened, etc.). As for the other half, although transdimensional may(?*) be more common in English, another accurate translation for the suffix 超- is Ultra- instead of Trans-, which as the set is introducing Ultra Beasts from Ultra Space, Ultradimensional Beasts fits the brand more accurately. I know that a certain website has already hap-haphazardly translated the set names as the names you've presented, however, they are notorious for missing how the TCG connects to the Pokémon brand and franchise as a whole (that also goes for translations of individual cards in addition to set names and such). I appreciate you coming to me first before creating the pages, because we are able push forward with the best representation of the content instead of having to retrace our steps later. MaverickNate 01:04, 24 July 2017 (UTC)

Shining Legends (English)

Hate to bother you, but please advise on the English Shining Legends. How are we going to differ the Japanese SM3+ and the English release for each individual card pages. Thanks. — Ruixiang95 20:30, 25 August 2017 (UTC)

Can you be a little more specific with the concerns? I don't entirely think it will be a problem. Hopefully all the cards end up being released, but I don't anticipate anything preventing it from going as normal. MaverickNate 00:26, 28 August 2017 (UTC)
Sorry should have said it sooner. Regarding the card number since it's different for English and Japanese. So we just put it as Reshiram (Shining Legends 15) for Japanese and Reshiram (Shining Legends 14) for English? — Ruixiang95 00:32, 28 August 2017 (UTC)
Yeah, that's what we've done before. It had never been a problem yet. Any cards that have the same number are already the cards that belong there. Otherwise yeah, the english would just take on the new number. MaverickNate 01:32, 28 August 2017 (UTC)

Can you help?

So, I have a bunch of Pokemon stuff that would work well in Project Merchandise like this Pokemon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon Official Alola Region Strategy Guide and I don't know where to put it's info in. (Actually a LOT of things!) How do I make pages and stuff like that? --Mira Zannah 16:57, 26 January 2018 (UTC)

TCG Illustrator lists

This is probably not that important but thought I would ask anyways as you are the current head of the TCG. Why is it that some illustrators simply have Category lists linked for all the cards they have illustrated while others just have an in-page list? Would it not make sense to have artists who have far longer lists be given collapsible tables with lists for each card from each set they have made? I plan to expand some of the TCG illustrator lists later but I do not want to touch the pages of artists who have extensive lists before then. Frozen Fennec 12:06, 10 June 2018 (UTC)

It all came down to time and man-power. The pages that are only three sentences and then a massive list of pages were the old style, and we were in the middle of converting them into actually informative pages. Since we already had pages that were lists of illustrated cards (categories), we removed them from the information pages because there's no reason repeating such trivial bulk stats. Masakazu Fukuda and Atsuko Nishida are the style of illustrator pages we're looking for. Anything that currently still has the list of cards illustrated are outdated compared to what we are currently looking for. We just didn't make it to update those ones yet. MaverickNate 03:02, 11 June 2018 (UTC)
If you think about it, pages like Shizurow and Miki Tanaka literally say nothing about the illustrator at all. They should talk about their contribution to the card game, their personalized style, the types of times they get contracted to illustrate for not only the TCG but all promotional media, etc, etc. Pokemon.com and other official websites occasionally release content detailing the illustrators, and we should compile content like that instead a bunch of links and lists that say nothing about the person at all. MaverickNate 03:14, 11 June 2018 (UTC)

Username Change

Hi there, was hoping I could get my username changed/updated to "danke", which is my most common translation username. Let me know if this is possible. Thanks. Mefredbob (talk) 20:17, 24 June 2018 (UTC)

About List of Abilities

Sorry for any bother due by my changes on Pokémon Power article. The Outdated template on top of the page is confusing: it says that the article needs list of abilities. Also, Pokémon Power article, when it talk about Abilities, link to the Ability article, which states that Abilities are a renaming of Pokémon Powers. Should we delete that template and modify that statement maybe? This template Ability redirect to Pokémon Power too. Anyway, I have just noticed that the user Yuvira (talkcontribs)(previously RetroKitty) asked you about a possible List of Ability more than one year ago. Also just read a secion named "Lists (Again)" on your Talk page. Given that Yuvira seems no longer active and given that we still need a list of Abilities on Bulbapedia, is there any chance of using what I've already written, for a new section which can be integrated in the Ability article? Laspandrea (talk) 11:30, 7 December 2018 (UTC)

Absolutely! Sorry, I meant to get back to you about that. If you want to edit the content of Ability (TCG) to be a page about Abilities in the card game and use what you've already written, that would be the best course of action. Thematically, card affects that affect Pokémon Powers and card effects that affect Abilities are not interchangable, so we need to keep the two concepts separate from one another. Other editors who don't understand the difference probably added those "Ability content needed" tags to the Power page. MaverickNate 23:54, 18 December 2018 (UTC)

Talk

Hello, Maverick. How are you? I have been blocked from the Archieves for quite a long time. I wanted to talk about something there, but no luck. And I didn’t mean to have a problem there and I want to help there again. So, if there’s anyway I can get unblocked? I want an adjustment.--CoolPokéGuy (Talk) 23:56, 6 May 2019 (UTC)

Japanese cards only in latest expansions?

Hi,in the latest expansions, almost all the cards from the galleries are in their Japanese versions,is this intended? If not,I have many cards from these expansions,I could scan them and upload them. - unsigned comment from Leonardo828 (talkcontribs)

If you could get the English prints, that will be nice. Only English versions, cards in other languages are not allowed. The scans should be clear and easy to see, most probably without any wear and tear. Remember to upload them in .jpg format. Thanks. — Ruixiang95 08:41, 18 May 2019 (UTC)

Pokemon Advanced Action Flipz 2003

Hey Maverick,

Currently, there is no distinguishing between 2003/2006 Advanced Action Flipz,

2003 Flipz have different copyright and released in different booster packs,

I am requiring a setlist/ new page created for this set? Is this possible?

Also updated 2006 advanced action flip imagery would be great,

Happy to pay, reach out at [email protected]

thanks

Reverting

Why'd you revert nearly all my recent edits?Huntress (talk) 22:59, 9 December 2019 (UTC)

Long story short, the tag that you were adding wasn't value added. We do a lot of independent reporting and research for Project TCG here. A lot of the resources that are used are official print materials and/or the scans we have present on every card page, etc. Your edits involved a sweeping change to how things are done to tens of thousands of articles on the website, and with such a vast change, it needs to be approved by the proper channels to organize efforts to make all these changes, instead of just a random tag to a small random assortment of pages. MaverickNate 03:15, 10 December 2019 (UTC)

Request to change, divide, remove and renew "List of Pokémon Trading Card Game expansions"

Throughout the history of this page there has been suggestions to divide the page into List of English Pokémon Trading Card Game expansions and List of Pokémon Japanese Trading Card Game expansions.

The English primary focus has meant that Japanese info is sometimes wrong eg set icons or missing eg set abbreviations many Japanese sets are also missing. This has also led to COMPLETELY ignoring sets released in other languages meaning it is extremely difficult to find what languages had which sets. The way the page is set also means that mini-sets and promos are also ignored.

I am requesting approval to remove the "List of Pokémon Trading Card Game expansions" page and replace it with the following pages;

-List of English Pokémon Trading Card Game Sets - where most of the info will be transferred but also include promo-sets and mini-sets without increasing the sets number.

-List of Japanese Pokémon Trading Card Game Sets - where most of the info will be transferred but also include promo-sets and mini-sets without increasing the sets number.

-List of German Pokémon Trading Card Game Sets

-List of French Pokémon Trading Card Game Sets

-List of Dutch Pokémon Trading Card Game Sets

-List of Spanish Pokémon Trading Card Game Sets

-List of Korean Pokémon Trading Card Game Sets

-List of Chinese Pokémon Trading Card Game Sets

I'd like to see your idea in action! Feel free to draft up these pages in your Userspace (i.e. create pages at User:The1pokedude1/List of English Pokémon Trading Card Game Sets) and show them to me when you are done! MaverickNate 23:29, 17 December 2019 (UTC)

These are the pages so far.

User:The1pokedude1/List of English Pokémon Trading Card Game Sets

User:The1pokedude1/List_of_Japanese_Pokémon_Trading_Card_Game_Sets

User:The1pokedude1/List of Chinese Pokémon Trading Card Game Sets

User:The1pokedude1/List of Thai Pokémon Trading Card Game Sets

User:The1pokedude1/List of Dutch Pokémon Trading Card Game Sets

I've also noticed that there far more English and Japanese sets that are not set for set comparisons, which furthers the point for splitting. The1pokedude1 (talk) 18:12, 20 December 2019 (UTC)

Sample Set Info

Hi there, I've signed up for BP just to ask you a question about Sample Set. It seems you've made some substantial contributions to articles about some cards from this set – my interest in Sample Set comes from the fact it used e-Card ID numbers in the format M-##; this is the same ID number format assigned to the 9 cards in EX Team Magma VS Team Aqua that supported the e-Card technology. In trying to figure out why these nine cards, which use ID numbers M-01, M-03, M-04, M-15, M-16, M-23, M-24, and M-70, have so many gaps in sequence, without any apparent cards from EX Team Magma VS Team Aqua, that would fill in the gaps, I stumbled on the fact Sample Set used M-## as well.

My first thought was a-ha, case closed. However, M-04 Sample is Koffing, and M-04 TMvTA is Psyduck. I've drafted a write-up about my interest in these cards 1; I'm wondering if you have any more information about these cards or could point me in the direction of resources or individuals that might; if there's any info or interest, I'd love for you to reach out to me on Twitter at @NICOTINEFRIEND or by email at [email protected]

Thanks. - unsigned comment from INTERNETFRIEND (talkcontribs)

Question for Maverick Nate

Good evening!

I sent you a note on the E4 forum about potentially adding a page to BP for the 1997 Tomy Pokemon Scratch Card set.

For starters, here is a great intro guide to these cards here within E4 by majomaal: efour.proboards.com/thread/12666/tomy-1997-pockemon-scratch-card

I also sent you scans of all of my cards in a Google drive, but I don't want to post that publicly here.

Can you please check your e4 mail for that link? Or else, please email me at [email protected]

Thanks! Accio

Hello and best wishes

Hey Nate, not sure if you'll see this (or if you remember me!) - hope you've been well! I noticed on the front page just now that you're no longer in charge of Bulbapedia's TCG and thought I'd drop you a message. Firstly, congratulations on steering the ship for so long - we both started on the project at roughly the same time, which must be at least ten flipping years ago at this point - some things change, but apparently our shared soft spot for the TCG hasn't, despite how much the game itself has. I think it's absolutely incredible and impressive beyond words that you've been involved in the project for so long and goes to show how valued you must be. On the (not so rare) occasion that I find myself reminiscing about classic TCG, I always find myself here - you and your team have built up an incredible resource over the years. Whatever you're up to these days, I hope you're keeping well. All the best, and take care! Jack, aka Cipher (Talk) 20:43, 22 October 2020 (UTC)

Hello, I am going to piggyback on this to also say thanks for all you have done. When I first joined, you made me feel more at home from the harsh criticism I was getting. Those were some of my very first Wiki edits anywhere, and I went on to do thousands more! Blake Talk·Edits 07:38, 15 November 2020 (UTC)

Jolteon (GB Mystery scan)

What was the name of the price guide that the scan of this non-existent card came from? Since there were other GB-only cards, were there other made up cards in the guide, such as Ninetales? Thanks!

Poképhilia

I would like to make a page for Poképhilia. This is what I would write:

Poképhilia is a paraphilia where Humans possess a sexual and, or, romantic attraction towards Pokémon.

Overview

Ancient Times

The full history of Poképhilia in the franchise has largely been left ambiguous and open to interpretation for the most part, however, throughout the franchise, there have been notable clues and references about Humans in the distant past who had participated in romantic and possibly even sexual relationships with Pokémon.

This is arguably best shown in the Sinnoh Folk Story 3, in which there can be found an excerpt of a supposed myth or legend implying that Humans and Pokémon were once free to be married.

"There once were Pokémon that
became very close to humans.
There once were humans and Pokémon
that ate together at the same table.
It was a time when there existed no
differences to distinguish the two."

Modern Age

It's uncertain if Poképhilia still occurs in the modern world or if it is now largely seen as a taboo.

Trivia

 • Some fans have theorized that one of the reasons why certain Humans in the franchise are capable of using strange powers such as aura or telepathy is because they may have been descended from a previous union between Humans and Pokémon though this remains unconfirmed.

Without commenting on the subject matter, the lack of actual factual information deems this as an non-notable page subject. Sorry! MaverickNate 02:02, 1 December 2022 (UTC)

Spanish and Italian name lists

I'm thinking of mainspacing User:Bfdifan2006/List of Spanish Pokémon names and User:Bfdifan2006/List of Italian Pokémon names, can I do that now? Other than the edits required to two protected templates ( and ), showing the templates that categorize, and moving images, I think both pages are ready. --Bfdifan2006 (T/C) 19:00, 12 January 2023 (UTC)

The Rising Volteccers got their dub names out, can you change the file names for all the members? (CuteSylveon42 (talk) 13:05, 24 March 2023 (UTC))

Can you help resolve this conflict, which esentially is an edit war? I think everything was already said in this discussion and someone should decide what to do next.--Rocket Grunt 10:45, 15 July 2023 (UTC)

Can you help?

I made a page move: Pokémon Trading Card Game 2: The Invasion of Team GR! to Pokémon Trading Card Game 2: The Invasion of Team GR! (game)

and after, it says, "A redirect has been created. To also modify links to this page in other pages, go to Special:ReplaceText.", for which which I am not authorised. Finger (talk) 00:01, 16 August 2023 (UTC)

Oh, and I hope our women beat your women today :) Finger (talk) 00:19, 16 August 2023 (UTC)

Can you also clarify whether Pokémon Trading Card Game 2: The Invasion of Team GR!, now reverted by Junior Admin 4iamking, is a game like Pokémon Trading Card Game (video game) and qualifies to have the (game) appendix despite there being no disambiguous CG2 Card Game, as both are in Finger (talk) 02:33, 16 August 2023 (UTC)

The reason I moved it in the first place was because it was helpful to be able to use the ga template, which I read are preferred over direct links, due to CPU overheads? or something like that. Finger (talk) 02:41, 16 August 2023 (UTC)

The ga template is preferred over ____a direct link when the disambiguation is used. But theres no need to force usage of that template when the page names dont work with it. When we add the (game) to a page name, the only reason for doing so would be if the name of the game conflicts with some other property and we need to disambiguate between the two, this isn't the case here so thats why I reverted your move. 4iamking 09:42, 16 August 2023 (UTC)

Then what was the point of creating the ga template in the first place if it isn't to be utilised for the purposed it was designed? Finger (talk) 13:11, 17 August 2023 (UTC)

It is used for what it's designed to do, the purpose of link templates in general is to ease up on the code when linking to pages that have a disambiguation as exampled above, that we dont want to include in the articles text. That's games like Pokémon Ranger or Pokémon Trading Card Game. The template is designed for such situations, not to link to every game where a disambiguation isn't required, since you can just do that with a standard link, and making a template for that would be adding complexity, not removing it. 4iamking 13:32, 17 August 2023 (UTC)

Pokémon card art life

Hi, I am trying to update this article but I do not know where to find the list of border and background colours, e.g. snoozing color dark, and what criteria is used when deciding what to choose for each entry. Finger (talk) 01:13, 18 September 2023 (UTC)

I'm not generally the one who updates the page as new ones come out, but I believe the color templates are simply added based on whatever the contributor thinks fits the theme the best. The list of all possible choices should be viewable here: Category:Color templates MaverickNate 04:31, 18 September 2023 (UTC)

Hello

Hello I saw you did something to Force Fire's profile. Can you create one of his articles which was a sandbox for a very long time? This one [2] I added lots of arsenal to it. It is a list the excludes mechas. Thanks. Eastern Goldfinch (talk) 12:52, 19 September 2023 (UTC)

Hi! I did you one better and moved it to the mainspace here. Thanks for putting effort into it over the years. MaverickNate 13:04, 19 September 2023 (UTC)
Thank you very much sir. See you soon. Eastern Goldfinch (talk) 09:49, 29 September 2023 (UTC)

Mainspaced page history

Hello, I saw that you were able to merge history for two different userspace pages when mainspacing them into Terapagos (anime). Would you also be able to do the same for Kitakami Ogre Clan? User:Minibug/Kitakami Ogre Clan had been around for a while, with a very decent amount of content, when someone else directly made a mainspace page (with far less content, I might add). The content from the userspace page was eventually copy pasted into the mainspace article, but it'd be great if the article history could be restored too, to give the original authors' hard work credit. Thanks, → PikaTepig999 06:25, 27 September 2023 (UTC)

I looked into it and checked with minibug. While it is possible to do after the fact, merging page histories is best done in the moment when there are no overlapping times. Trying to do that now, in an attempt to preserve two edits, will just make the history bounce back and forth between the at-the-moment two separate pages. I don't think this is the right move, but I appreciate you looking out! MaverickNate 10:23, 27 September 2023 (UTC)

How to format articles for books only featured as one half of a flip book

Hello. You are listed as a contact for Project Merchandise, so I figured you could answer my question. I contacted nuva-kal, the other Project Merchandise contact, a couple days ago about this, but he hasn't responded yet. So I figured it may be good to ask you as well.

I recently found a collection of 4 Pokémon flip books published by Scholastic in 2021, and they appear to be totally undocumented on Bulbapedia. The collection as a whole is called the "Pokémon Super Special Chapter Book Collection", and each of the flip books is labelled as "Super Special Flip Book #x". With the exception of the two stories in Super Special Flip Book #4, I Choose You! and Ash Ketchum, Pokémon Detective, all of the stories in the collection appear to have been adapted specifically for this collection, and do not exist outside of it. For instance, Super Special Flip Book #1 contains "Gigantamax Clash" and "Battle for the Z-Ring", and neither of these exist as standalone books, at least as far as I could find.

So my question is this. Should separate articles be created for each individual story? For instance, Gigantamax Clash would get its own page, Battle for the Z-Ring would get its own page, etc.? Or should both of those be folded into a single article on Super Special Flip Book #1? If each story gets its own page, should separate pages also be made for the flip books themselves? For instance, should there be articles on Gigantamax Clash, Battle for the Z-Ring, and Super Special Flip Book #1? And should the collection as a whole have its own page?

Thank you. Red Knight (talk) 22:17, 25 November 2023 (UTC)

I have found a standalone version of another of the flip books featured in this collection: Helena Mayer's "The Power of Three," featured in Super Special Flip Book #3. It may yet be possible that all of these books exist in standalone form, just not documented on Bulbapedia. If that does turn out to be the case, then that at least resolves the question posed by the section title. However, I am still curious about how articles about the flip books or collections of flip books should be handled.

Red Knight (talk) 20:50, 25 January 2024 (UTC)

I think it really depends on how much we can say about each one. For now, I would say write out a draft in your userspace somewhere of what an ideal page would look like. I'm inclined to say each story deserves its own page, with a page on the series of items as a whole, but I'm not really familiar with the topic so it's hard to for me to envision what those articles look like. MaverickNate 00:08, 26 January 2024 (UTC)

Sounds good. I'll see what I can come up with. Red Knight (talk) 00:50, 26 January 2024 (UTC)
