Double redirects

There's no need for you to fix double redirects, since BulbaBot does that once every day. Plus, when BulbaBot does it, then it doesn't clog the Recent Changes, since that's marked as a bot edit, which is hidden by default. Furthermore, while changing the redirect target is a tagged action, there is currently no way to exclude edits with given tags from the RCs. --C.Ezra.M (talk | contribs) 16:24, 29 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Gotcha. Thank you for the information! Cipher (talk) 16:28, 29 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Given that some of those redirects existed since July, I think you found that BulbaBot must be broken here. Thank you for cleaning up those double redirects! While we do want to make sure that our Recent Changes tool remains viable, there are options to take it to 1000+, so as long as wiki maintenance tasks remain well below that limit at a single time, there shouldn't be a problem. There was no issue with what you did here. MaverickNate 23:17, 29 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

I need help making a grid/spreadsheet

Hi, I want to do a grid of spreadsheet detailing every character whether that’s a pokemon or human that is on a Japanese or international pack art. Do you think you can help? Vinnylospo (talk) 04:35, 27 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hey there - I may be able to help with something in the future, although my time's going to be taken up quite a bit with TCG Pocket and other TCG coverage over the next couple of weeks. I'd be happy to provide advice, though, and am just about to respond to your comment on the booster pack talk page with some thoughts and suggestions as well. Ok that’s fine. Completely understandable. Vinnylospo (talk) 19:03, 27 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Pokémon Ranger sprites

Hi! I'm new to editing bulbapedia and I've never posted to a talk page befor so I'm sorry if I did it wrong. I'm trying to fix all the broken links for all the human npc sprites from pokemon ranger shadows of almia. As I have uploaded them I have run into 2 issues.

First, there are existing links for different characters that share a sprite. for example Janice and Lady share a sprite, but they each have unique link. I don't think I should upload duplicate images, but I also can't just change the name of the link because I don't know all the articles use these links.

Second, there are characters that share a name, and a link, but have different sprites. for example there two characters called little girl , but one is tall with a ponytail and one is short with a bob. and again I don't know what articles use the effected links so I can't easily untangle this.

So I guess my question really boils down to, is the an easy way to check which articles use which links so I can rename files/links and/or make new links for new sprites? Or is there another way I should be handling these issues? thanks

Hey there! I'll do my best to help with these. I've sought guidance from the staff team on how best to advise you here, as I wasn't 100% sure myself.
Regarding the first query, to continue using your example, there's a handy tool called Special:WhatLinksHere that can tell you where all instances of a link can be found. If you go to that page and enter File:Lady SoA.png as the file name, it'll bring up a list of all of the pages where that link can be found. I've checked all the pages on that list, and they all use a template that lets you change Lady SoA.png to Janice SoA.png without changing the name of the NPC as it appears in the template. This should let you use a single image for more than one character whenever needed.
Regarding the second query, the simplest thing to do here is add numbers to the file names - so have Little Girl 1.png, Little Girl 2.png etc. - this is absolutely fine to do. As I mentioned above, the template that's used will let you use that as a file link while still using "Little Girl" as the NPC name. (If you've already uploaded any files that need moving on the Archives, you can add {{move}} to the relevant file to flag it up with the staff team - so for example, if you want a file moving to Little Girl 1 SoA.png, just add {{move|Little Girl 1 SoA.png}} and we'll know where to move it.)
Also, in case it helps for future reference - when you go to a talk page, somewhere near the top of the page, you'll more than likely see a little + icon, either in the tabs at the top or somewhere in the top-right corner. That's how you start a new conversation on a talk page :) and if you want to reply to an existing conversation, just click the 'Reply' that appears at the end of a comment. There should be one just below, after my signature.
I hope that all helps, but if you've got any further questions or need more guidance, feel free to let me know! If I don't know the answer, I'm sure someone else will. Cipher (talk) 19:54, 22 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

Unsatisfactory TCG Pictures

Heya, I was browsing around the Unsatisfactory Pictures section at the Garden and I was kind of surprised at how easily I could find better scans of many cards, Arbok (Expedition 3) as an example, from a few general TCG Databases. I was wondering if these haven't been updated due to concerns of the original scan author, conflicts with these sites or if it's just an oversight and I should carry on with uploading and updating as many as I can. Thanks in advance! Mortagua2 (talk) 21:55, 21 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your message! Our policy regarding card scans is that they should be scanned from a user's personal collection; this is mainly because several different online databases source their scans from a variety of places, and some don't source them at all - and some sources don't like to be sourced, so it's best for us to be cautious, and our policy allows us to be confident about where the scans have come from. There are extenuating circumstances sometimes, such as ridiculously rare cards, but those are few and far between. While images like Arbok aren't satisfactory for one reason or another, they do at least serve their purpose: showing a picture of the physical card. I hope that answers your question and I appreciate you checking in about this! If you need any further clarification, just let me know. Cipher (talk) 22:09, 21 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

Misty TCGP artwork

Hey, I just noticed the artwork for the Super Rare Misty card without background I've added got deleted from the archives. Since you edited it out from the Misty page, do know why the art was deleted? It came from internal files, so it should be fair use Meervo (talk) 16:36, 14 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hi there - staff checked this image after it was flagged to us, and it was identified as a custom render from a third-party source, not an asset extracted directly from the game. We've seen what the assets look like when extracted directly from the game, and the models are all in bits due to how the super rare cards are rendered. As such, because the image that was uploaded was essentially created by somebody else and they did not give permission for it to be used elsewhere, it did not fall under fair use, and was therefore deleted. An image of the super rare card is also already on the page, in the spin-off section. Hope that helps. Cipher (talk) 15:42, 16 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Didnt know that was the case! Thank you for your reply! Meervo (talk) 19:48, 25 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Please also add S-CN Arcane Truth?

Hi there! I noticed you added the set list for the Simplified Chinese expansion Blade Awakenings. Could you perhaps also add the set list for the previous expansion, Arcane Truth? Thanks in advance! RickvdBelt (talk) 14:38, 28 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
