A Battle Girl (Japanese: バトルガール Battle Girl) is a type of Pokémon Trainer that first debuted in the Generation III games. They are generally depicted as young women, dressed in belly baring crop tops, or traditional Kung Fu uniforms in Black and White, and striking a fighting pose.

Gyms and battle facilities aside, they use Fighting-type Pokémon exclusively. In the Battle Subway, they specialize in Fighting-, Fire-, and Steel-type Pokémon.

The character Shauna from the episodes A Meditite Fight! and Just One of the Geysers is based on this class.

In general, their male counterparts appear to be Black Belts. In Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, a nearly identical sort of Trainer called Crush Girl (Japanese: かくとうむすめ Fighting Girl) appeared.

A Ruin Maniac named Yukari is seen battling Bug Catcher Mikiya in the Battle Dome. While it is unknown who won, what is known is that Yukari at some point lost a match, eliminating her from the tournament.

A Battle Girl was Hareta's opponent during the Sinnoh Pokémon League Tournament. She ends up fighting well but in the end, Hareta managed to come out on top.

Kirlia
Kirlia was the first revealed Pokémon the Battle Girl sent out. It managed to put Hareta's Misdreavus to sleep and somehow placed Hareta to sleep which made the audience laugh at him. The outcome of the battle was unknown as it was not shown whether or not Kirlia was able to knock out Misdreavus.

Kirlia's only known move is Hypnosis.

Heracross
Heracross was the second revealed Pokémon the Battle Girl sent out. It went up against Hareta's Luxio where after a long hard fought battle, it was beaten by Luxio's super-charged Thunder.

Heracross's only known move is Take Down.
