Reversibility
Popcorn kernels normally need to be hit three times in a row to clear them, meaning that if in a given turn they are not hit, they will revert to their previous stage.

Clearability
Popcorn kernels will be advanced to their next stage by hitting them with Pokémon combos. Megaphones, Café Skills, boosters, Puzzle powers, Choux pastries or Pokémon links made by a Pokémon with the Popcorn Specialty gimmick will clear Popcorn immediately, regardless of their current stage.
Movability
Popcorn kernels are movable. They will float around the puzzle area as other icons push them around when forming combos or when setting off a megaphone or activating a Café skill.
Trappability
Popcorn kernels can be contained inside other gimmicks: Olive oil, Bubbles, Ice cubes, Mayo, Gummies, Coffee ice cubes, Jelly.
