Regulation Set I was a set of organized play rules in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. It was first used from May 1, 2025 until August 31, 2025.

Regulation Set I was later reused for online battles beginning on January 5, 2026, where it remained in use for online battles until the end of service as the final regulation set for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. It returned to official competitive play from April 1, 2026 until May 31, 2026, during the transition period from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet to Pokémon Champions.

Ruleset

The regulation set adopts the following ruleset:

  • Pokémon are automatically set to level 50 during battle.
  • Pokémon may hold held items, however duplicate held items are not allowed.
  • Pokémon with the same National Pokédex number may not be registered to the same team.
  • Greninja with the Ability Battle Bond are not allowed.
  • Terastallization is allowed.
  • Up to two restricted special Pokémon may be registered to a team.
  • Timers are set as follows:
    • Total time limit per game: 20 minutes
    • Player timer per game: 7 minutes
    • Turn time: 45 seconds
    • Preview time: 90 seconds

Pokémon on the list below are eligible if they are available in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, or transferable through Pokémon HOME.
