Ranked Battles Series 14 was a set of organized play rules in Pokémon Sword and Shield. It began on November 1, 2022 at 04:00 UTC, as the ruleset for Season 36, and remained in use until the end of service as the final ranked battle ruleset for Pokémon Sword and Shield.
Series 14's ruleset mirrors the one used in Series 12. Unlike Series 13, Mythical Pokémon were not eligible.
Ruleset
The regulation set adopts the following ruleset:
- Pokémon are automatically set to level 50 during battle.
- Pokémon may hold held items, however duplicate held items are not allowed.
- Pokémon with the same National Pokédex number may not be registered to the same team.
- Dynamax and Gigantamax are allowed.
- All eligible Gigantamax Pokémon may be used.
- Up to two restricted special Pokémon may be registered to a team.
- Eligible Pokémon are limited to Pokémon obtained in Pokémon Sword and Shield, or Pokémon with the battle-ready symbol.
- Timers are set as follows:
- Total time limit per game: 20 minutes
- Player timer per game: 7 minutes
- Turn time: 45 seconds
- Preview time: 90 seconds
