Ranked match (TCG Pocket)

Ranked match (Japanese: ランクマッチ ranked match) is a type of versus battle in Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket. Ranked matches were added to the game on March 27, 2025.

Ranked matches are available during ranked match seasons, typically with one season per expansion.

Information from in-game guides

In Ranked Matches, there is a rank system that goes from Beginner Rank to Master Ball Rank. Players can go up in rank based on the points you get when you win battles.

In Master Ball Rank, players in the top #10,000 by rank points will have their ranking displayed.

The ranked match season will change about once a month. After a season ends, players can get emblems based on their rank at the time the season ended.

Players can get additional rank points by winning consecutive battles. Before June 27, 2025, the additional points were only rewarded up to Great Ball Rank 4.

Points gained:

  • 10 points for a win
  • 3 points for the second win in a row
  • 6 points for the third win in a row
  • 9 points for the fourth win in a row

In Beginner Rank 1-4, players will not lose rank points when defeated in battle.

In ranks up to Great Ball Rank 1, players will not drop down in rank as a result of being defeated in battles.

Ranks and rewards

A player's rank at the end of a season will determine their rank at the beginning of the next season. Even if the rank doesn't change, the number of points they start with next season will be based on the previous season's points.

Final rewards

By doing at least one ranked batch battle during the season, players will be counted as having participated in the season, and will be able to get final rank rewards after the season ends. The period during which final rank rewards can be claimed is the same as the results announcement period for a season.
