I originally got interested in Pokémon somewhere during my elementary school years when the franchise was just arriving in Europe, although back then I was into it mainly because everyone else was too, not wanting to be left out, even though I didn't fully understand what it was about. Sometime during [[Generation II]], I left the franchise, occasionally watching {{series|Advanced Generation}} episodes from TV, but otherwise being in the dark. However, during the transition era from [[Generation III]] to [[Generation IV]], I started following the show again, with {{series|Diamond & Pearl}} being the first anime series I watched from start to finish as it first aired.
