Starter Squad is a computer-animated series of Pokémon videos published on YouTube, created by animator Pierce Shipp (user name "Shippiddge"). The series is due to span for 12 episodes, with nine having been published so far. The main characters of the series are the three Generation I first partner Pokémon (also known as starter Pokémon), as they travel around the Kanto region. Charmander considers himself as the group leader, seeks to evolve, and isn't against using lethal force to get his way; Squirtle is more honest and fair, trying his best to keep Charmander in check; and Bulbasaur is their carefree and slow-witted companion. The series deconstructs many elements from the Pokémon games, such as turn-based battles.
