××★Who I am, for real this time
Hey! My name is Umeko — not my real name, just what I go by on the interbutts. I'm 23 years old and majoring in video game development. This means that I can spend all my free time playing video games and call it studying.
I am actually currently developing an original game of my own but none of you are interested in that.
I currently live in a quaint little town southeast Pennsylvania which is absolutely covered in trees. Like seriously if you look at a satellite photo of the area you can tell where my town is because it's just this random blob of green surrounded by shopping centers. I like living here though because it's a nice place to take a walk. And if I ever feel like going to a shopping center it's just a matter of walking to the edge of town. NO ONE CARES.
Anyway, I'm pretty easy to get a hold of if anyone ever needs to contact me for some reason — due to my area of study I am in front of a computer during every single one of my classes, as well as during my free time, so basically if I'm NOT at my computer for an extended period of time it's because I'm sleeping. Sometimes I might not be around the 'pedia for a few days at a time because I kind of have a game portfolio to develop before I graduate but I'll still respond to any form of contact. :B

Oh god I can't believe I typed that.
Seriously though? I've got a pretty good handle on the language — note the ja-3 usertag. I guess ja-3 isn't completely true when it comes to actually speaking Japanese — I'm probably closer to ja-2 in that case — but I'm pretty close to fluent at reading and writing, which is all that matters on the internet, really! But officially, I've only taken (and passed with a score of like 94%) the level 4 JLPT. I'll be taking the level 3 test in December~
And I realize that I totally could have not mentioned any of that and no one would be any the wiser. Guess I'm too truthful for my own good.
...Oh right, and as for my other skills, I'm pretty decent at HTML and CSS. I'm also okay at drawing, and I'm learning some computer programming.

Nowadays I don't really do much for Pokemon fandom — really all I do is post episode reactions on my Livejournal, occasionally write fanfiction (usually game or Special canon, though there are some totally ridiculous exceptions), and every so often I do some good-natured trolling.
I also occasionally do some Japanese-to-English translation of whatever catches my fancy, most notably The Anything-Goes Pokedex. (This might be a good place to note that I tend to hang around the Japanese fandom, so I tend to favor Japanese character names and such, simply because I'm more used to them. orz)
In the past, I MAY have possibly participated in scanlating a few chapters of a certain Pokemon manga. And I MAY possibly try scanlating some more at some point. But really, who knows?
I don't really consider myself a shipper, but I do have a few ships that I absolutely adore. I won't vehemently insist that OMG THERE LUV IZ SO CANON!!!!11 or anything though — which is just as well because even if I DID want to start up a ship war, it would just be me up against everyone else. ××★What I do at Bulbapedia
Nothing really noteworthy. I'm a n00b.
But omg look at that Golden Eevee I got omgomgomg :OOOO
You might notice me going around adding English translations of the HGSS Pokedex entries as of late (Mostly just HeartGold entries, since that's the version I'm playing; my younger brother has SoulSilver held hostage). It's pretty much obvious that there's a pattern to the entries, so I'm not doing anything AMAZING, but hey. It at least gives me incentive to complete my in-game Pokedex (I'm doing better than I usually do!).
I've also been translating some of the HGSS Pokedex entries for 3rd and 4th-gen Pokemon, as sort of temporary placeholders until the NA release of the games. I'll continue doing so as I acquire more of those! (Also, guys. Multi-language Pokedex entries != actual translation of the HGSS entries.) And chances are I'll be translating other random stuff too, because I enjoy it. Especially translating song lyrics, that's fun. See the next section.
I created this page. I know, so amazing, right? I didn't actually create this page, but I put basically all the information on it. \o/
Also I have a bad habit of completely forgetting to mark edits as being minor. I mean to, but I always forget. I'm sorry. I wouldn't be surprised if I end up forgetting to mark this edit to my userpage as minor too.

Soooo I've taken to translating Japanese song lyrics on this here 'pedia. Hooray? I've been translating a couple songs a week. ...Uh, what else should I say. The songs that I've translated are over there on the right (J means I contributed the Japanese lyrics, R means I contributed romanizations, E means I translated the lyrics).
If you have any requests for what I should translate next, go ahead and tell me, I guess. I can't guarantee that I'll get to it right away, because there are some songs that I really don't enjoy too much, but I'll see what I can do!
