Leer (Japanese: にらみつける Glare) is a non-damaging Normal-type move introduced in Generation I.

Effect

Leer decreases the target's Defense stat by one stage.

Leer hits both opponents in a Double Battle. In a Triple Battle, Leer will only hit opposing adjacent Pokémon.

Description

Games Description StadStad2 A technique that lowers the target's Defense. Useful against tough, armored Pokémon. GSC Reduces the foe's Defense. RSEColo.XD Frightens the foe with a leer to lower Defense. FRLG The foe is given an intimidating look that lowers its Defense stat. DPPtHGSS The foe is given an intimidating leer with sharp eyes. The target’s Defense stat is reduced. BW The opposing team gains an intimidating leer with sharp eyes. The opposing team's Defense stats are reduced. B2W2 The user gains an intimidating leer with sharp eyes. The opposing team’s Defense stats are reduced. PMDRB Lower's the target's Defense by one level. PMDTDS Reduces the target's Defense by 1 level.
