Safeguard is a non-damaging Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation II.

Effect

Prevents the user from being affected by any status condition until it wears off.

In the anime

A sphere of light surrounds the glowing Pokémon, it can make an opponent's attack useless.

Pokémon

Delcatty. Its body glows and create a white sphere, but its tail is out of it, so we can speculate that this part of its body creates the move.

Slowking. Slowking leans forward, and the gem on the top of its head glows. It soon creates a large ball, made out of triangles.
