Description This Dragon-type Trainer and singer travels the world and is popular for his passionate and spirited shouting. He has also visited Alola before.

Ryuki (Japanese: リュウキ Ryūki) is a Pokémon Trainer in Pokémon Masters EX, based on the character of the same name in the core series games. He forms a sync pair with Turtonator. This sync pair was first made available on November 4, 2023, and has been able to be raised to Masters EX star.png 6★ EX since it was first released.

In the games

Ryuki is a rock musician who travels the world with the goal of becoming an overseas sensation. No one bought his music at first, and he had to scrape by with the money he earned from Pokémon battles, but his Pokémon supported him through that time. He is known to have traveled to Johto, Unova, and Alola before coming to Pasio. His singing style is inspired by the cries of dragon Pokémon, and includes lots of passionate shouting. He loves all his Pokémon dearly, having fallen in love with them all at first sight. He's a bit reckless, often rushing headlong into things.

On Pasio, he is aiming for the top. He has met many Dragon-type specialists, and he enjoys talking about dragon Pokémon with them. He learned that Scottie/Bettie is very popular among them, which made him want to become friends with Scottie/Bettie as well. He considers meeting the player his awesomest memory on Pasio, and he wants to write a song about it.

In events

Ryuki first appears in the story event Summer Superstars, where he competes in the Sync Pair Music Festival with Roxie and Lisia. Their team makes it to the finals, where they compete against the team consisting of Steven, Lyra, and the player. Ryuki is impressed by Lyra's Jigglypuff, which performs a rock version of its song inspired by Ryuki's music. Ultimately, Lear declares the player's team to be the winners, while Ryuki's team gets the second-place prize: a statue of Lear sculpted from a rare ore. After seeing Steven marvel over the ore the statue is made of, Ryuki and his teammates decide to give the statue to Steven.

Ryuki also makes a brief appearance in the story event Champion Time, where he runs into Roxie and Piers on the streets of Pasio. After a crowd forms and starts calling for the three of them to have a jam session, Ryuki encourages Piers to give the crowd what they want. Roxie and Piers agree, and the three singers perform a song together.

Ryuki has a major role in the story event Who's the Best Singer?. After he performs a live concert with Roxie and Piers, some of their fans get into an argument about whose music is the best. This gives Ryuki the idea to hold another live concert that's a competition to see who's the best musician. Ryuki, Roxie, and Piers decide they'll each form a band with two other people to make the concert battle more interesting.

Recalling the performance Lyra's Jigglypuff gave during the Sync Pair Music Festival, Ryuki seeks Lyra out and asks her to join his band for the concert. He invites his old teammate Lisia as well, but she's going to be filming for a TV show with Steven and the player that day, so she can't join him. As Ryuki wonders who else to invite, Flint approaches him. He's a big fan of Ryuki's, and he introduces Ryuki to Cynthia and her Kommo-o, who he thinks would compliment Ryuki's passionate shouting well. Cynthia agrees to join Ryuki's team, and the three of them begin practicing for the concert battle.

Later, Ryuki meets up with Roxie and Piers to discuss how things are going with their teams. Ryuki is surprised to learn that Roxie's Toxtricity was a gift from Piers, and Roxie wants to discuss something with the two of them. When the day of the concert battle arrives, Ryuki's team is the first to perform. Jigglypuff and Kommo-o's singing makes Ryuki's shouting more exciting, so the crowd loves it. After the votes are cast, Ryuki, Roxie, and Piers thank everyone for listening and cheering along. Then, they check the results of the votes. It turns out that all teams received an equal number of votes, so they're all winners. Then, Ryuki, Roxie, and Piers do the thing they discussed before: having all three teams perform one last song together.

Pokémon

The first Pokémon Ryuki is shown to own is his Turtonator, which he forms a sync pair with. He fell in love with him at first sight because of the star-shaped pattern on his back, as well as his shell's ability to explode when pressure is applied to it. Ryuki uses this ability to fire up the crowd during his shows. The deep bass of Turtonator's explosions complement Ryuki's singing, and they reverberate through to the heart. Ryuki occasionally finds items after Turtonator lets loose with a blast.

He alludes to having other Pokémon, but nothing is known about them.
