Inside its black outer layer are a pair of white, cylindrical legs resembling pantyhose or tights. It also has white "cuffs" or "bangles" on each of its arms, protruding from which are its tiny hands which are the same color as its face.

Major appearances
Gothitelle first appeared in The Lost World of Gothitelle! where it prevented Ash and his friends from crossing Skyarrow Bridge. It then creates an illusion of how its life used to be before the bridge was built, which was serving those who rode the ferry that traveled to Castelia City. Gothitelle eventually lets the group cross the bridge after being reunited with its friend, Sally.
A Gothitelle appeared under the ownership of Damon in Black—Victini and Reshiram.
Minor appearances
A Gothitelle appeared in BW051 performing in a Pokémon Musical. It used Telekinesis to pull Ash, Pikachu, and Oshawott on stage and helped dress them so they can preform as well. Afterwards, Gothitelle used Ash as a dance partner.

Trivia
Origin
Gothitelle appears to be based on a stylized depiction of a young woman wearing gothic lolita style clothing. Its ability to predict the future using stars may allude to fortune tellers or Romani people.
Name origin
Both Gothitelle and Gothiruselle may be derived from "gothic" and "mademoiselle", the French word for "miss". The latter half of its English name could also be derived from "tell", pertaining to its ability to foretell the future, or "stelle", the Italian word for "stars", referring to its species and its ability to foretell the future through the movement of the stars.
