Learnset

By TM/Move Tutor

Various Move Tutors will teach Draco Meteor to a Dragon-type Pokémon. From Generation IV to VII, the Pokémon also needs a maximized friendship rating. It can be taught to Arceus while it is holding the Draco Plate and to Silvally while it is holding the Dragon Memory. However, in Pokémon Sword and Shield and Pokémon Legends: Arceus, any form of Arceus or Silvally will be allowed to learn the move. The move cannot be taught to Pokémon that only become Dragon-types via Mega Evolution, Ultra Burst, or abilities such as Protean and Libero, as their Dragon typing cannot be accessed outside of battle. Trivia

  • In November 2005, prior to the release of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, it was announced that, in the following year, the January issue of Japanese magazine CoroCoro Comics would run a contest in which fans could propose name ideas for a new Dragon-type move.[1] In May of the same year, りゅうせいぐん Ryūseigun, later localized as Draco Meteor, was announced as the winner.[2]
  • Its Japanese name contains りゅう ryū (dragon), a likely reference to the move's Dragon type.
  • In Pokémon Masters EX, Miracle Idol Draco Meteor is the only Dragon-type attack that is less powerful in a Dragon Zone (1.5× damage) than outside of it (2× damage if no field effects are present).
