Chespin—Fennekin—Froakie Figure Boxes
In addition to the Collector's Pin Three Pack Blisters, a trio of Figure Boxes made their debut on October 12, 2013. Each Chespin Box, Fennekin Box, and Froakie Box contained a commemorative figure of the titular Pokémon and a corresponding XY Black Star promotional card. Each box also came with three Black & White Series booster packs.
The Kalos Starter Set was the first main release of the XY Series and was launched simultaneously on November 8, 2013 with its Japanese counterparts, the Beginning Set and Beginning Set for Girls. Cards from the set were available across three Kalos Starter Set Decks—the Chespin Deck, the Fennekin Deck, and the Froakie Deck—and comprised debuts of several Generation VI Pokémon, including a handful supporting the new Fairytype and the evolved forms of the Kalos first partner Pokémon. Each deck included a sheet of damage counters and status markers, a coin, a checklist and summary of changes in the XY Series, a 2-player playmat and rulesheet, a deck box, and a code card for the Pokémon Trading Card Game Online that would unlock digital versions of the respective deck within the game. Deluxe versions of each deck were also made available from the same day, which featured exclusive Sheen Holofoil versions of the Basic and Stage 1 first partner Pokémon, as well as a bonus Black & White Series booster pack (typically Legendary Treasures).
The Sylveon Collection was released on November 15, 2013 and featured the Pokémon Trading Card Game debut of the Intertwining Pokémon Sylveon. Each collection included a brand new Sylveon promotional card, a Sylveon figure, a single basic Fairy Energy, four Black & White Series booster packs, as well as alternate-art promotional cards depicting Eevee and each of the seven Eeveelutions available at the time. The eight reprints originated from a Japanese Collection File released as part of the Pokémon Center Eevee Collection campaign in November 2012; Eevee is a reprint from Plasma Freeze, while the Eeveelutions are reprints from Dark Explorers.
Deck boxes: Each deck box can hold a fully sleeved deck with space for things like extra sleeves or cards. Boxes could be secured shut with a self-locking cover and were also packaged with an organizational divider bearing the same design.

Binders: A trio of binder styles were available. Four-pocket portfolios could hold up to 80 cards double-loaded; nine-pocket portfolios could hold up to 180 cards double-loaded; and 3-Ring Binders could be used to store large quantities cards using three-ring punched storage pages.
The first full expansion of the XY Series, XY, was accompanied by a pair of Theme Decks upon its official release on February 5, 2014. The Resilient Life and Destruction Rush Theme Decks feature two Kalos region Legendary Pokémon: the Life Pokémon Xerneas and the Destruction Pokémon Yveltal. Resilient Life comprised both Fairy-type and Psychic-type Pokémon, while Destruction Rush contained Darkness-type and Fighting-type Pokémon. Each deck included an exclusive Cracked Ice Holofoil print of their featured Pokémon, a sheet of damage counters and status markers, a coin, a 2-player playamt and rulesheet, a card checklist and summary sheet, a deckbox, and a code card to unlock a digital version of it in the Pokémon Trading Card Game Online.
In addition to three XY booster packs and a coin, the Three Pack Blisters featured Cosmos Holofoil prints of either Dragons Exalted Gyarados or Plasma StormGallade. These blisters used the plastic clamshell packaging first seen on varieties for the Black & White expansion and were not initially available in North America. It was not until their inclusion on the Pokémon Center online store in August 2014 that prompted their distribution in the North American market. Variations of these blisters with the more traditional paperboard packaging were also made available at a later date.
The coins included within the first release of these blisters were mostly repackaged from Noble Victories, Next Destinies, and Dark Explorers-related merchandise. Different coins were included in waves of Single Pack Blisters that shipped with Garchomp-EX Boxes for release in April 2014. These updated blisters came with Black-backed versions of the Xerneas and Yveltal coins from the XY Theme Decks, as well as Black-backed, Gold Mirror Holofoil Pikachu coins. The Xerneas and Yveltal coins were only available in shipments to Target stores, while the Pikachu coins were more widely available. Another wave of Two Pack Blisters was also shipped with Flashfire products: blisters featuring the evolved Kanto first partner Pokémon included a Large-sized, Black-backed, Silver Cracked Ice Holofoil Deoxys coin; blisters featuring the three Dragon-type Pokémon included a Large-sized, Black-backed, Silver Cracked Ice Holofoil Genesect coin.
The XY expansion saw the release of the third installment of the Elite Trainer Box product line, and the first of the XY Series. The XY Elite Trainer Box came in two varieties: one featuring Xerneas and one featuring Yveltal. Compared to the previous iteration, these boxes added five copies of Fairy Energy to the stock of basic Energy for a total of 45 cards. Each box also contained eight XY booster packs, 65 themed card sleeves, two acrylic Special Condition markers, six damage counter dice, one large die for coin flips, four dividers, and an XY Player's Guide that provided an overview of the XY expansion. The boxes could also be used for storage.

XY Portfolios
Also released with the XY expansion on February 5, 2014 were the expansion's 9-Pocket and 4-Pocket Portfolios, the second pair released for the XY Series. Both binders feature the expansion's 5ban Graphics promotional artwork of Xerneas and Yveltal; however, the 4-Pocket Portfolio features the booster pack versions while the 9-Pocket Portfolio features the artworks from the XY Theme Decks. Each binder has 10 pages, allowing for the storage of 180 cards in the 9-Pocket and 80 cards in the 4-Pocket.
A second set of pin blisters was released on February 19, 2014. Each of the XY Collector Pin Three Pack Blisters included an enamel collector's pin featuring either Xerneas or Yveltal plus three booster packs from the XY expansion.
A pair of Figure Collections focusing on the LegendaryKalos Pokémon Xerneas and Yveltal was also released on February 19, 2014. The Xerneas Figure Collection included a collectable figure of the Life Pokémon, as well as an alternate-art Xerneas XY Black Star Promotional card and a selection of four booster packs (typically three from XY and one from Legendary Treasures). The equivalent Xerneas Jumbo Collection was made available outside North America.
During the XY Series, collectable figures were not included in products made for sale outside North America, resulting in equivalent lines containing different items. Instead of the Xerneas Figure Collection, the Xerneas Jumbo Collection was made available in other regions overseen by The Pokémon Company International from February 19, 2014. Each of these collections included a copy of the same alternate-art Xerneas XY Black Star Promo card and same quantity of XY booster packs but came with an oversized version of the Xerneas card instead of the figure.
Complimenting the Xerneas Jumbo Collection on February 19, 2014 in Western regions outside North America was the Yveltal Jumbo Collection. This promotional box featured the Destruction Pokémon Yveltal as both a regular-sized and a Jumbo-sized XY Black Star Promo card. Each collection also included three XY booster packs.
In the month following the release of the XY expansion, specifically on March 12, 2014, a pair of Legends of Kalos Tins was released. Featuring two members of the Kalos region's aura trio, these tins included alternate-art reprints of the Xerneas-EX and Yveltal-EX cards from the XY expansion. Also included in each tin were four booster packs as well as a code card for unlocking the promos in the Pokémon Trading Card Game Online.
Trainer Kits were first conceived in the EX Series as a way to introduce prospective players to the Pokémon Trading Card Game. The XY Trainer Kit was the first iteration of the XY Series and was released on March 12, 2014. Each kit was packaged with two pre-constructed Half Decks featuring Sylveon and Noivern, with the Sylveon Half Deck focusing on Fairy-type Pokémon and the Noivern Half Deck focusing on Darkness and Psychic-types. None of the cards have rarity symbols and each feature a collection number and set symbol exclusive to the kit. The cards are numbered in such a way to allow them to be played in the kit's example battle; cards could also be easily reset if the decks were accidentally shuffled prior to conducting an example battle.
Released April 1, 2014 was the Garchomp-EX Box. This promotional box came with standard-sized and Jumbo-sized Garchomp-EX cards as well as a selection of four booster packs: three from the XY expansion, and one sourced from the Black & White Series.
The next installment of Theme Decks was released alongside the Flashfire expansion on May 7, 2014. Brilliant Thunder featured Fire-type and Lightning-type Pokémon, focusing on the Generator Pokémon Heliolisk, while Mystic Typhoon featured Water-type and Psychic-type Pokémon, centering on the Constraint Pokémon Meowstic. The decks included exclusive Cracked Ice Holofoil prints of their central Pokémon, in addition to a sheet of damage counters and status markers, a coin, a 2-player playamt and rulesheet, a card checklist and summary sheet, a deckbox, and a Pokémon Trading Card Game Online code card.
Flashfire featured its own set of blister packs, which were released alongside the expansion on May 7, 2014. Four different blister packs were available: a pair of Three Pack Blisters and a pair of Single Pack Checklane Blisters. The Three Pack Blisters, available in North America for the first time since Boundaries Crossed, featured the original paperboard-backed packaging instead of the plastic clamshell first utilized in the range of Black & White Blisters. As the name suggests, three Flashfire booster packs were available in each blister, along with a coin and either a Haxorus or a Machamp Cosmos Holofoil variant sourced from the Plasma Blast expansion.
The Single Pack Blisters featured one Flashfire pack, a coin, and either a Skiddo or Honedge Cosmos Holofoil XY Black Star Promotional card. The coin designs typically packaged in these blisters were large-sized, Black-backed, Silver Cracked Ice Holofoil ones featuring either Xerneas or Yveltal, though some included repackaged coins from earlier Theme Decks.
The third enstallment of portfolios were released with the Flashfire expansion on May 7, 2014. The 9-Pocket Portfolios feature the promotional 5ban Graphics artwork of both MegaCharizard forms; the 4-Pocket Portfolios feature the promotional pack artwork of MegaKangaskhan and Pyroar. Each binder has 10 fixed pages, allowing up to 180 cards to be displayed in the 9-Pocket Portfolio and up to 80 cards in the 4-Pocket Portfolio.
The Charizard-EX Box was available from May 7, 2014, the same day as the Flashfire expansion. Like the Garchomp-EX Box, this product contained a promotional Pokémon-EX card in both standard and Jumbo sizes, this time Charizard-EX, in addition to a TCGO code card and four booster packs, at least two of which were of the Flashfire expansion.
The online Pokémon Center released an assortment of stationery on July 9, 2014 that featured a basic design with corporate art of Pikachu in different poses. Among these was a Pikachu 1" D-Ring Binder that could hold 3-ring pocket pages for TCG card display.

Bulbanews
Bulbanews has multiple articles related to this subject:
Being skipped for the Flashfire expansion, a trio of Mega Evolution-themed Pin Blisters was released in July 2014 to celebrate MegaCharizard and MegaLucario, featured Pokémon for the two nearby sets, Flashfire and Furious Fists. According to retailer material, the blisters were originally planned for an August 2014 release, presumably to coincide with the launch of Furious Fists, and were set to contain three booster packs from each of the first three XY Series expansions. The earlier release resulted in the blisters including one XY pack and two Flashfire packs. The blisters were packaged with one of three possible pin designs: Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, or Mega Lucario.
Several sets of blister packs were released alongside the Furious Fists expansion on August 13, 2014. The Three Pack Blisters were packaged with either a Trevenant or a Slurpuff Cosmos Holofoil XY Promo, three Furious Fists booster packs, and one large-sized coin. The Checklane Single Pack Blisters contained either a Cosmos Holofoil Gogoat XY Promo or a Cosmos Holofoil variant of Zoroark from Legendary Treasures, a repackaged large-sized coin, and one booster pack from the expansion.
At the beginning of September 2014, a pair of Two Pack Blisters was released, each containing two packs from the expansion, a repackaged coin, and three different Cosmos Holofoil promotional cards sourced from Boundaries Crossed. The blisters contained either Electivire, Dusknoir, and Scizor or Serperior, Emboar, and Samurott. All these cards remain exclusive to this product except for the Dusknoir, which was also available in the Psychic Gym Collector Pack.
The fourth Elite Trainer Box was released with the Furious Fists expansion on August 13, 2014. It featured MegaLucario and included the same type of contents as the XY Elite Trainer Box: a stock of 45 basic Energy cards, 65 themed card sleeves, two acrylic Special Condition markers, six damage counter dice, one large die for coin flips, four themed dividers, a Furious Fists Player's Guide, and eight Furious Fists booster packs.
A brand-new product that debuted with the Furious Fists expansion went by the name of Furious Fists Launch Kit. This kit contained two booster boxes worth of booster packs (72 in total), four copies of each Furious Fists Theme Deck, and a sealed pack of 16 promotional cards: eight each of Trevenant and Slurpuff available in the Furious Fists Blisters. The Furious Fists Launch Kit cost significantly more than most products due to the volume of items included and was intended more for places like card shops instead of for personal purchase.
The Furious Fists expansion also brought with it a pair of portfolios featuring the expansion's promotional artwork created by 5ban Graphics. MegaLucario and MegaHeracross are respectively featured on the front and back of the 9-Pocket Portfolio, while Hawlucha and Tyrantrum are printed on the front and back of the expansion's 4-Pocket Portfolio. Each binder includes 10 fixed pages to display cards.
In August 2014, a pair of boxes was made available in Western regions outside North America in place of the Mega Charizard Collection due to safety concerns with the promotional figures. These boxes contained a Cosmos Holofoil Legendary TreasuresCharizard card and an oversized card depicting either MegaCharizard X or Mega Charizard Y from the Flashfire expansion. The boxes also included one less booster pack compared to the North American version for a total of three.
In response to a survey held on The PokéGym, The Pokémon Company International designed a product named the Elite Trainer Deck Shields. These additions to the Elite Trainer Series of products were metal tins suitable for carrying around a deck, which incorporated a storage compartment in the lid to hold small accessories such as dice and damage counters. The Deck Shields became available to purchase in late August 2014 and came in two designs: one featured Xerneas and Yveltal; the other featured MegaCharizard X and Y. Each Deck Shield was also packaged with two XY Series booster packs.

The Ancient Power Box was released at the start of September 2014. Featuring several Pokémon first introduced in the Furious Fists expansion, this promotional box contained special Cosmos Holofoil variant prints of cards relating to Fossil Pokémon: Tyrunt, Tyrantrum, Amaura, and Aurorus, in addition to the new Supporter card, Fossil Researcher. Each box came with three booster packs (two Furious Fists and one Flashfire), and a Quick Guide to help players with the Restored Pokémon mechanic.
With the start of the 2014-2015 Play! Pokémon tournament season, Pokémon.com's Professor Store reopened on September 23, 2014, providing Professors the opportunity to purchase exclusive merchandise with Professor Points earned from judging Organized Tournaments. The merchandise included both new items for 2014, as well as older ones from previous years that were still relevant to Play! Pokémon:

A heavy-duty plastic Professor Carrying Case with three dividers designed to carry cards around. It was initially added to the Professor Store on March 30, 2012. It cost 35 Professor Points.

A 7×10 inch ring-bound Professor Journal with 100 pages. It was initially added on January 3, 2013. It could be purchased for 30 Professor Points.
A pack of 65 Titanium tournament Professor Sleeves featuring black Professor Program logos. It was initially added July 18, 2013. Packs were available for 25 Professor Points.
Originally announced for October 2014, the Mega Lucario Collection was a figure box that came out in mid- to late September 2014. This collection featured the Aura Pokémon as both a Mega Evolution figure and a special Cosmos Holofoil Lucario promotional card from the Legendary Treasures expansion. Four booster packs from the XY Series were also included.
The Autumn 2014 Regional Championships were the first large-scale events of the 2014-2015 Play! Pokémon tournament season. Six Regional Championships were held across North America over three consecutive weekends, beginning the weekend of October 4, 2014 and concluding on the weekend of October 18. These events offered exclusive merchandise to participants, winners, and staff. With the upcoming releases of both Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire and the Phantom Forces expansion, the merchandise featured the Hoenn first partner Pokémon Treecko, Torchic, and Mudkip, as well as MegaGengar and MegaManectric.
Available by means of raffles, side-events, and more, a new playmat featuring the Mega Gengar Phantom Forces artwork by 5ban Graphics was released. Awarded to the Top 8 finishers of each age division was an exclusive Top 8 playmat featuring the 5ban Graphics artwork of Mega Manectric. This playmat has a Top 8 stamp in the bottom left corner. Staff of the event were given a Staff-stamped print of the same Mega Manectric playmat. Top finishers were also awarded packs of 65 exclusive Mega Gengar Play! Pokémon sleeves, as well as a Play! Pokémon deckbox featuring artwork of the two Mega Pokémon. Additionally, a trio of hats were made available in raffles, side-events, etc. These hats featured artwork of either Treecko, Torchic, or Mudkip. Each player was given an exclusive Crosshatch Holofoil print of Honedge from the XY expansion, with staff given a Staff-stamped print of the card for their services.
These tins received a re-release near the end of the XY Series during the holiday season. While the promotional cards remained the same, the pack selections were updated to include two Evolutions, one Fates Collide, and one BREAKpoint. The TCGO code cards similarly remained the same, providing only the promotional Pokémon-EX card and no additional special deck, unlike other tin code cards available at the time.
The Battle Arena Decks: Xerneas vs. Yveltal were the first entry in a new product line that launched on October 22, 2014. Each box contained two 60-card decks themed around aura trio members Xerneas or Yveltal, both of which were featured on never-before-seen promotional cards. The decks collectively contained 20 Sheen Holofoil cards. The product also came with two metallic coins, a 2-player playmat and rulesheet, a code card to play these decks on the Pokémon Trading Card Game Online, two deckboxes, two sets of damage counters, and a Quick Guide to help players bolster their strategies.

2014 World Championships Decks
The 2014 World Championships Decks were released in late October/early November 2014, a few months after the 2014 World Championships. These four decks were chosen from the twelve Quarter-Finalists across the three represented age groups, each representing a different winning deck archetype used in the tournament. Each deck came with a Worlds 2014-themed Deckbox, a booklet about the championships, a non-tournament-legal print of the 60-card deck, and a 2014 World Championships pin.
The four decks comprised those used by the champions of each age division, with the fourth being Masters Division Michikazu Tsuda's third-place deck Crazy Punch, based on the Pokémon-EX Toolbox archetype. The other three decks were Junior Division champion Haruto Kobayashi's Team Plasma deck named Plasma Power, Senior Division champion Trent Orndorff's Trevenant/Accelgor deck named Trevgor, and Masters Division champion Andrew Estrada's Virizion/Genesect deck named Emerald King.
In addition to the Phantom Forces Theme Decks, four Phantom Forces Blisters made their debut alongside the expansion on November 5, 2014. The two Three Pack Blisters featured Darkrai and Shiftry, while the Single Pack Blisters featured Talonflame and Greninja. The pair of Three Pack Blisters contained three Phantom Forces booster packs, a coin, and either XY Black Star PromotionalShiftry, a card that originated as a Japanese Pokémon Card Gym promo, or Darkrai, a card first available in Japan to those who preordered tickets for the seventeenth movie in theaters. The pair of Single Pack Blisters contained one Phantom Forces booster pack, a coin, and either XY Black Star Promotional Greninja, a card that originated as a Japanese Lizardon Mega Battle redemption promo, or an exclusive Cosmos Holofoil print of Talonflame from the XY expansion. The coins contained in the blister packs were repackaged from earlier releases.
The success of the Elite Trainer Box product line saw the fifth installment release alongside the Phantom Forces expansion, making it the first to release over consecutive sets. The Phantom Forces Trainer Box featured the Mega Evolution of Gengar and was packaged with the same assortment of items as its previous counterparts: eight Phantom Forces booster packs, 65 Mega Gengar-themed card sleeves, 45 basic Energy cards, a Phantom Forces Player's Guide, six damage-counter dice, one coin-flip die, and two acrylic Special Condition markers. The box itself could also be used for storage and came with four Mega Gengar-themed dividers to aid organization.
The second installment in the Launch Kit line was released for the Phantom Forces expansion. Each kit contained 72 booster packs, four copies of each Phantom Forces Theme Deck, and a sealed transparent pack containing eight copies each of XY Black Star PromosDarkrai and Shiftry. The Launch Kit catered more for places like card shops than for personal purchase, which was reflected in its price point.
The Phantom Forces expansion also saw the release of a themed Collector's Album with capacity to display up to 60 cards. The cover features both MegaLucario and MegaGengar; each album was packaged with one pack from the expansion.
Released with the Phantom Forces expansion on November 5, 2014 was the set's 9-Pocket and 4-Pocket Portfolios. The 9-Pocket Portfolio features 5ban Graphics's booster pack artwork of MegaGengar and MegaManectric, while the 4-Pocket Portfolio utilizes the Galvantula and Talonflame artwork created for the Phantom Forces Theme Decks. Each binder has 10 pages, allowing for the storage of 180 cards in the 9-Pocket and 80 cards in the 4-Pocket.
Among the products released in November was the first in another new product line—the Collector Chest (also known as the Treasure Tin), which contained a variety of items not seen before in other TCG merchandise. Released on November 14, 2014, it was the first TCG product to promote Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, and featured the super-ancient PokémonGroudon and Kyogre in their debut Primal forms. Each Collector Chest was packaged with five booster packs, three foil preview cards featuring Treecko, Torchic, and Mudkip, a coin, two sticker sheets including Legendary Pokémon, a mini album to store cards, a Pokémon notepad, four pencils with a unique Pokémon design, and a bonus code card for the Pokémon TCG Online.
The Mega Metagross-EX Premium Collection was officially released on November 24, 2014 shortly after Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire in most regions. As a reference to the special Shiny Beldum that could be downloaded upon Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire's release, the collection featured promotional cards depicting Shiny Metagross-EX and Shiny Mega Metagross-EX. In addition to the two promos, the collection included eight booster packs (two from each of the first four XY Series expansions), a Shiny Mega Metagross playmat, a silver Metagrosscoin, an oversized copy of the Mega Metagross-EX card, and a TCGO code card to unlock digital versions of the promos. Later shipments of the collection from around April 2015 replaced the silver Metagross coin with a teal one.
Following the March 2014 XY Trainer Kit, the next beginner product to see release was the XY Trainer Kit: Bisharp & Wigglytuff later that November. This XY Trainer Kit comprised two pre-constructed Half Decks featuring Bisharp and Wigglytuff. The Bisharp Half Deck contained mostly Metal-type Pokémon and the Wigglytuff Half Deck primarily featured Fairy-types. None of the included cards have rarity symbols and all have deck-specific collection numbers and set symbols that are exclusive to the kit.
In addition to the Half Decks, the XY Trainer Kit: Bisharp & Wigglytuff also contained two booklets to guide players through the game, an exclusive deck box, a rulebook, damage counters, status counters, a Large-sized, Silver Sheen Holofoil Pikachucoin, a playmat, and a code card to unlock the cards in the Pokémon Trading Card Game Online. Redeeming the code card would also unlock the combined Claw Barrage Theme Deck.
November 2014 brought the release of two new Nine-Pocket Pro-Binders by Ultra Pro, the first to be themed specifically around Pokémon. Much like their more generic solid-color binders, these two binders are made out of black web material, have side-loading pockets, and an elastic strap to keep the binder shut. Available in two designs, one exclusively features Pikachu; the other features many different type symbols and colored Pokémon silhouettes.

Phantom Forces Mini Packs
A new variation of the traditional 10-card booster pack was made available exclusively at Dollar Tree stores from mid-December 2014: 3-card Mini Packs. These packs were sold at a price point of one dollar and contained three cards from the Phantom Forces expansion, as well as a promotional insert advertising various aspects of the Pokémon franchise. Although similar, the configuration of these packs was different to the 3-card Fun Packs available in other markets overseen by The Pokémon Company International. The first card in every pack was a Common and the last Pokémon card in each pack was an Uncommon. The middle card was able to be any other card from the expansion, anywhere from Commons to Reverse Holofoils, Ultra Rares, or Secret cards. The promotional insert was one of a possible four, advertising Pokémon.com, Play! Pokémon, Pokémon TV, or Pokémon the Series on the front, and the Phantom Forces Theme Decks on the back.

In early April 2015, a Goodra Mini Album blister pack was made available, featuring an exclusive Cosmos Holofoil print of Goodra from Phantom Forces, a mini collector's album featuring Goodra, and two booster packs from recent XY Series expansions.
Taking off from where the Gallade-EX Box left was the Flygon-EX Box. Featuring the promotional Pokémon-EX card from the most recent Japanese Pokémon Card Gym pack at the time, the Flygon-EX Box contained both a normal-sized and Jumbo-sized copy of the titular Pokémon-EX, a TCGO code card, and four XY Series booster packs. It was available starting April 15, 2015.
Due to the success of the first run of Elite Trainer Deck Shields, a second run was released on April 15, 2015 alongside the Flygon-EX Box. The new tins came in two designs, one featuring Kyogre and Groudon in their Primal forms, and the other featuring MegaGengar and MegaLucario. Each metal tin was designed to carry a full deck and a storage compartment in the lid was capable of holding items such as dice and damage counters. The product also was packaged with two Primal Clash booster packs.
Trainer Kits were released throughout the XY Series as a means to introduce newcomers to the Pokémon Trading Card Game. The third of the Series was the XY Trainer Kit: Latias & Latios and was sold from April 29, 2015. Each kit included two pre-constructed Half Decks that featured the Eon duoLatias and Latios, both of which appeared as Psychic-type Pokémon for the first time since their debut, and both of which were initially exclusive to the TCG outside Japan. The Latias Half Deck also contained Grass-type Pokémon and the Latios Half Deck featured the Fighting-types. As with prior releases, none of the cards feature rarity symbols and each have a collection number and set symbol exclusive to the kit.
In addition to the Half Decks, the XY Trainer Kit: Latias & Latios also came with two booklets to guide players through the game, an exclusive cardboard deck box, a rulebook, damage counters, status counters, a Large-sized, Silver Sheen Holofoil Hoenn first partner Pokémoncoin, a playmat, and a code card to unlock the cards in the Pokémon Trading Card Game Online. Redeeming the code card also unlocked the Eon Strike Theme Deck, which combines both Half Decks into a full 60-card deck.

Roaring Skies Theme Decks
Another pair of Theme Decks was released alongside the sixth XY Series expansion, Roaring Skies, on May 6, 2015, and were built around two of the three legendary birds: Zapdos and Articuno. Lightning and Grass-type Pokémon are featured in the Storm Rider Theme Deck; Water and Fire-type Pokémon are featured in the Aurora Blast Theme Deck. Each deck also contained the typical sheet of damage counters and status markers, coin, 2-player playamt and rulesheet, card checklist and summary sheet, deckbox, and code card for the TCGO.
The Roaring Skies Elite Trainer Box was made available with the Roaring Skies expansion on May 6, 2015 and features the Sky High Pokémon Rayquaza in its Mega Evolved state. Colored green, the box included eight Roaring Skies booster packs, 45 basic Energy cards, a pack of 65 Mega Rayquaza sleeves, a pair of acrylic Special Condition markers, six damage-counter dice, a coin-flip die, four Mega Rayquaza dividers, a Roaring Skies Player's Guide, and a code card that would unlock digital versions of the sleeves and an exclusive deckbox if redeemed in the Pokémon Trading Card Game Online.
Roaring Skies brought with it another set of 9-Pocket and 4-Pocket Portfolios. These albums have 10 pages apiece, allowing 180 cards to be kept in the 9-Pocket and 80 cards in the 4-Pocket. Utilizing Ryota Murayama's booster pack artwork, the 9-Pocket features MegaRayquaza and MegaGallade, while MegaLatios and Deoxys are featured on the 4-Pocket.

Plasma Storm Rerelease Blisters
Distributed with the Roaring Skies expansion were two pairs of Three Pack Blisters, featuring the four Holofoil promotional cards from the Plasma Storm Blisters originally released in February 2013: Next DestiniesWigglytuff, and BW Black Star PromosDrifblim, Ninetales, and Ampharos. These blisters marked the first time Ninetales and Ampharos were made available in North America. Each of the four blister packs contained a pack of Next Destinies, Plasma Storm, and Plasma Freeze, one of the four promotional cards, and a coin (either a Large Cracked-Ice Holofoil Genesect or a Large Sheen Holofoil Pikachu).
Packs in these blisters were newly printed for May 2015 and included updated code cards with the generic backing first distributed in Phantom Forces boosters. Additionally, the four promotional cards feature the Smooth Cosmos Holofoil paper that began to appear on promotional cards released in the Legendary Treasures Blisters, with the original 2013 prints utilizing the original Pixel style Cosmos Holofoil.
Roaring Skies, much like Phantom Forces and Primal Clash before it, had 3-card Mini Packs sold exclusively at Dollar Tree stores. Available starting May 6, 2015 for only one dollar, the packs contained one Common, one Uncommon, any other one card from the Roaring Skies expansion, along with an advertisement card. These promotional advertisements featured the Roaring Skies expansion on one side, with the other side promoting one of four things: Play! Pokémon, Pokémon TV, Pokémon.com, or Pokémon the Series.

Spring 2015 Regional Championships merchandise
The 2014-2015 tournament season awarded exclusive merchandise at every large tournament throughout the year, and the Spring 2015 Regional Champions were no different. Held at eight locations throughout North America on the weekends of May 16–17, May 23–24, and May 30–31, 2015, the featured expansion for the tournament series was Roaring Skies. A variety of playmats were created for the tournament, which made use of Ryota Murayama's Roaring Skies booster pack art. Standard versions of MegaGallade, MegaLatios, and Deoxys playmats were available at venues; Staff-stamped versions of the Mega Latios playmat were given to event personnel and Top 8-stamped versions of the Mega Gallade playmat were given to the top finishers in each age division.
The Mega Absol-EX Premium Collection was a large-sized collection released on May 29, 2015. Each collection included exclusive Absol-EX and M Absol-EX promotional cards, the latter coming in regular and Jumbo sizes, as well as a collector's pin and coin depicting MegaAbsol, six booster packs from recent expansions, and a code card for the Pokémon TCG Online.
The first shipments of the collection typically included two Roaring Skies packs, two Primal Clash packs, and two Phantom Forces packs. Shipments for distribution in early November 2016 included updated contents, typically coming with two Fates Collide packs, two Steam Siege packs, and two Evolutions packs. These later collections also included a Pixel Holofoil Mega Absol coin—initial ones were packaged with Cracked Ice Holofoil coins.
Celebrating the Sky High Pokémon Rayquaza, the Rayquaza-EX Box, released on June 3, 2015, was the next in the long series of Jumbo card promo boxes. Sporting an exclusive Rayquaza-EX promotional card different from the two included in the Roaring Skies expansion, the Rayquaza-EX Box contained four booster packs from recent expansions, a TCGO code card, plus regular and Jumbo-sized releases of the promotional card.
Made available starting June 17, 2015 was the Mega Rayquaza Collection. The collection contained an exclusive MegaRayquaza figure, a Rayquaza promotional card, a code card for the Pokémon TCG Online, and four XY Series booster packs. The enclosed promotional card was Rayquaza from the Japanese Illust Collection. It was only available in North America, with the Rayquaza Box taking its place in other TPCi markets.
Much like many of the previous promotional boxes of the XY Series, the Rayquaza Box, released June 25, 2015, introduced an exclusive promotional Jumbo card featuring the Legendary Sky High Pokémon Rayquaza. Containing three booster packs (typically one each of Roaring Skies, Primal Clash, and Phantom Forces), the box paired with the Mega Rayquaza Collection, containing the same Rayquaza promo, but in both normal and jumbo sizes, and a TCGO code card. It was only available in Europe as a substitute for the North American figure promotional box.
Available at the 2015 Pokémon National Championships, held July 3–6, was a wide array of exclusive merchandise awarded for participating, winning, or staffing. For the Video Game Championships, each entrant was given a special Rayquaza and Deoxys-themed playmat, printed with a competitor stamp. The same playmat design was available in side events without any stamp printed on it. The artwork is one of the promotional artworks made for the Delta Episode of Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.
For those who entered the main TCG event, a Kyogre and Groudon-themed competitor mat was provided. The quarter-finalists of each age division were awarded with a Top 8-stamped Roaring Skies Deoxys playmat; the overall champions were given a Champion-stamped Roaring Skies Rayquaza playmat. Those who placed far enough were also awarded Hoenn first partner Pokémon hats, trophies, packs of Roaring Skies, and the MegaGengar and MegaManectric deckbox available in previous events for the season. Unstamped prints of the Rayquaza and Deoxys playmats were available to winners of specific side events. Each participant also received the promotional Nationals-stamped Blaziken from Furious Fists.
Staff for the events were presented with a Staff print of the Blaziken promotional card, a Staff-stamped Rayquaza playmat, a Staff-stamped VG playmat, as well as a copy of the two-player playmats featuring Kyogre and Groudon used on the play areas of the tournament. Other unused merchandise from the main events were also presented to them for their efforts.
Every year at the National Championships, a side event was held for Professors for volunteering their time throughout the Pokémon Play! season for the good of the players and fans. This side event is known as the Professor Cup and offers a number of exclusive promotional items themed around Pokémon Play! and the Professor Program, for both participating and finishing in the top places. A trophy was given to each of the Top 4 finishers. The top 16 finishers of the tournament each received an OGIO Metro Backpack with the Professor Program logo embroidered on the front pocket. For both winning and losing matches, booster packs were handed out to each participant. Other items, such as Professor Program iron-on patches, hats, and coins were given out at random. A very small number of Professor Program playmats were given out as raffle prizes throughout the duration of the tournament. Every item except for the backpacks were given a wider release in the Professor Store from August 2015.

Shiny Rayquaza-EX Box
Following the Rayquaza-EX Box, the Shiny Rayquaza-EX Box was made available from August 19, 2015 and featured normal-sized and oversized promotional cards. Unlike previous boxes, the two cards were not the same: the regular card was the Shiny print of Rayquaza-EX, released in Japan as part of a mail-in campaign held around the release of Emerald Break, while the Jumbo card was one of the three Shiny Evolved Pokémon-EX from the Ancient Origins expansion. Boxes were also packaged with four booster packs and a TCGO code card.
The Jumbo card variations were exclusive to certain stores in different markets. In Australia, only the Primal Kyogre-EX and Primal Groudon-EX releases were available, both of which were exclusive to EB Games. In the United States, the box containing Primal Kyogre-EX was available exclusively at Toys "R" Us, while the Primal Groudon-EX version was exclusive to GameStop. The M Rayquaza-EX version was distributed to any other store carrying the product.
Ancient Origins Mega Evolution Collector's Pin Three Pack Blisters
Released one week after the expansion on August 19, the Ancient OriginsMega Evolution Collector's Pin Three Pack Blisters included either a MegaTyranitar or a ShinyMegaRayquazapin. Each blister also came with three booster packs from the expansion.

Tyrantrum-EX Box
Available September 9, 2015 was the Tyrantrum-EX BoxJumbo card collection. The featured Tyrantrum-EX card was first released in Japan as a Pokémon Card Gym promo and marked the first Dragon-type print of the Despot Pokémon. The box also contained a code card for the Pokémon Trading Card Game Online and four booster packs from recent XY Series expansions, with an emphasis on Ancient Origins.
The first Premier Events of the 2015-2016 Play! Pokémon season were the Autumn Regional Championships. In the United States, these were held in six locations starting the weekend of October 3–4, 2015. The merchandise for this set of tournaments was centered on the newly revealed Mythical PokémonHoopa and the Ancient Origins expansion of the Pokémon Trading Card Game. Two different playmat designs were made available: one featuring the Ryota Murayama Ancient Origins pack artwork of MegaTyranitar and the other of ShinyPrimalGroudon. Unstamped versions of the playmats were awarded based on the Premier Tournament Organizer's discretion, while those who finished in Top 8, Top 4, Finalist, and Champion ranks were awarded an appropriately-stamped version of the Shiny Primal Groudon playmat. Other prizes included two different versions of Hoopa Confined sleeves, a Hoopa-themed deckbox, and Hoenn first partner Pokémon hats left over from the previous season. Changes this year included only awarding the Champion with a trophy, instead of multiple top finishers. Each participant also received a promotional Regional-stamped Mirror Holofoil Ace Trainer from Ancient Origins.
Staff for the events were presented with a Staff print of the Ace Trainer promotional card and a Staff-stamped Mega Tyranitar playmat; other unused merchandise from the main events were also presented to them for their efforts.
The 3-card Mini Packs for the Ancient Origins expansion, sold exclusively at Dollar Tree stores, were available midway through October 2015. For only one dollar, the packs contained one Common card, one Uncommon card, a card of any rarity from the expansion, and an advertisement card. These promotional advertisements featured the Ancient Origins expansion on one side, with the other side promoting one of four things: Play! Pokémon, Pokémon TV, Pokémon.com, or Pokémon the Series. The packs for this expansion featured a redesigned front, with text shifted around the front of the packaging.
Released October 21, 2015 was the second iteration of the Battle Arena Decks, the Battle Arena Decks: Mewtwo vs. Darkrai. Like the first set of decks, this product included two 60-card decks, one featuring Next Destinies Mewtwo-EX and the other Dark Explorers Darkrai-EX. Additionally, it contained eight Holofoil Energy cards (Psychic or Darkness), two coins, two sets of damage counters, a two-player playmat, a card guide, two deckboxes, and a code card for the TCGO. All prints of the Pokémon-EX utilize the Sheen Holofoil typical of the XY Series instead of their original Mirror Holofoil. The coins included in the decks feature Zoroark.
Available October 21, 2015 on the same day as the Battle Arena Decks: Mewtwo vs. Darkrai were the Ancient Origins Elite Trainer Deck Shields. The new tins came in two designs, one featuring Latios and Rayquaza, and the other featuring Hoopa in both its forms, Hoopa Confined and Hoopa Unbound. Each metal tin has room for carrying around a deck plus a storage compartment in the lid to hold dice and damage counters. Each product was also packaged with two Ancient Origins booster packs and—as a new addition—a sealed brick of 45 basic Energy cards comprising five copies of the nine supported types at the time.

BREAKthrough Theme Decks
The release of the BREAKthrough expansion on November 4, 2015 marked a shift in focus for the Pokémon Trading Card Game as the Pokémon BREAK mechanic was introduced. The equivalent Blue Shock and Red Flash dual expansion in Japan similarly marked the beginning of a distinct XY BREAK Era.
The BREAKthrough expansion also had two pairs of promotional blister packs launch alongside it: Single Pack Blisters and Three Pack Blisters. For the first time since Primal Clash, not all the cards included were XY Black Star Promos. Each Three Pack Blister came with a coin, three booster packs, and one of two promotional cards: XY PromoSableye or Celebi. The Single Pack Blisters came with one booster pack, a coin, and one of two cards: XY Promo Jirachi or Furious FistsHawlucha.
Released later during the holiday season were three additional blister packs for the BREAKthrough expansion. Two of these featured a three-stage evolutionary line, one booster pack, and a coin; one featured a trio of fully evolvedDragon-type Pokémon, two booster packs, and a coin. These Single Pack Blisters included an exclusive Cosmos Holofoil print of either Phantom ForcesChandelure or Primal Clash Eelektross. The Two Pack Blister contained Furious FistsNoivern, Phantom Forces Hydreigon, and Primal Clash Flygon. The enclosed coin in both waves of products could be one of several possible designs from prior XY Series merchandise.
The BREAKthrough expansion featured two different Elite Trainer Box designs, one for each Mega Evolution of the Genetic Pokémon Mewtwo. Mega Mewtwo X boxes featured purple and blue-colored accessories, while Mega Mewtwo Y boxes featured maroon and red-colored ones. Each Elite Trainer Box came packaged with eight BREAKthrough booster packs, sets of 65 card sleeves and four dividers emblazoned with the relative Mega Evolution, a stock of 45 basic Energy cards, six damage-counter dice, a coin-flip die, a pair of acrylic Special Condition markers, a BREAKthrough Player's Guide, and a Pokémon TCG Online code card.
The BREAKthrough expansion prompted the release of another Collector's Album on November 4, 2015. Included with each album was one booster pack from the expansion. The album features artwork of Hoopa in both of its forms and Regigigas.

The 4-Pocket Portfolio features artwork of MegaHoundoom and ZoroarkBREAK, while the 9-Pocket Portfolio features artwork of MegaMewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y.
As part of the North American promotion for the BREAKthrough expansion, a special Zoroark began distribution for players of Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire on November 4, 2015. GameStop stores also began to sell Zoroark Collector's Pin Blisters from this date, which were packaged with three BREAKthrough booster packs and an exclusive Zoroarkpin.
The Mega Blaziken-EX and Mega Swampert-EX Premium Collections were released early in Target stores on October 19, 2015. This caused a frenzy within the Pokémon community due to the included BREAKthrough packs, as Prerelease events did not begin until the weekend of October 24 and 25, 2015.
The 2015 World Championships Decks were released on November 18, 2015 following the results of the 2015 World Championships held in August. Four decks were selected from top-placing individuals across the tournament's three age divisions, each of which employed different play strategies. These included Masters Division champion Jacob Van Wagner's HonorStoise, Senior Division champion Patrick Martinez's Punches 'n' Bites, Junior Division champion Rowan Stavenow's The Flying Hammer, and Junior Division runner-up Alejandro Ng-Guzman's Primal Groudon. Each product included a deck box featuring visuals created for the tournament, a booklet detailing the events of the weekend, a non-legal recreation of one of the finalist's 60-card decks, and a 2015 World Championships pin.
Shortly after the BREAKthrough expansion, the BREAKthrough Collector Chest was released on November 18, 2015. Much like the first Collector Chest released one year prior, the BREAKthrough Collector Chest features a metal clasp and plastic carrying handle and is emblazoned with a design that covers the circumference of the tin. This design features MegaRayquaza and HoopaUnbound. Each chest contained five booster packs, three promotional cards featuring Hoopa, Pikachu, and Chespin, a coin, two sticker sheets featuring Legendary Pokémon, a mini album to store cards, a Pokémon notepad with four pencils, and a bonus code card for the Pokémon Trading Card Game Online.
Three Mega Evolution Collector's Pins Three Pack Blisters

Mega Aerodactyl-EX Premium Collection
A brand new Premium Collection focusing on the Prehistoric Pokémon Aerodactyl was available exclusively at Target stores from January 3, 2016 before becoming more widely available on January 20, 2016. The Mega Aerodactyl-EX Premium Collection contained promotional Aerodactyl-EX, Aerodactyl Spirit Link, and M Aerodactyl-EX cards, the latter both as a regular-sized card and as a Jumbo card, a code card for the TCGO, a Mega Aerodactyl coin and pin, and six XY Series booster packs.
Available at Target stores from January 3, 2016 and other stores from January 20, 2016 was the Aurorus-EX Box. The featured Aurorus-EX card was first available in Japanese Pokémon Card Gym Promotional Card Packs that began distribution in November 2015. The box also contained a code card for the Pokémon Trading Card Game Online, and four booster packs from recent XY expansions, with an emphasis on BREAKthrough.
The BREAK Evolution Box was released on January 4, 2016 and was the first in a line of boxed collections to feature promotional prints of the new Pokémon BREAK. Each box included Pokémon BREAK that were released in Japan as XY-P Promotional cards: Empoleon BREAK was given away as a redemption point prize at Battle Festa events, Beheeyem BREAK was included in copies of CoroCoro Ichiban!, and Noctowl BREAK was given to top finishers of special Pokémon Card Gym events. Each box also included a Jumbo copy of Empoleon BREAK, five booster packs, and a code card for the TCGO.
In mid-January 2016, the online Pokémon Center introduced a number of both previously Japanese-exclusive and English-exclusive TCG accessories to North American audiences. Included in the release were playmats, sleeves, deck boxes, and 3-ring binders, some of which were part of larger collections of merchandise available on the store.
Deck boxes: Two new English-exclusive deck boxes were made available for purchase in January 2016.
The We're Goomy Deck Box features a trio of Goomy with different personality traits. This item was one of several that made up the We're Goomy Collection, which was based on a Japanese Pokémon Center merchandise campaign that began in early 2015.
Playmat: The only playmat newly available for January was the English-exclusive Goomy playmat from the We're Goomy Collection. The playmat displays Goomy in a number of decorated scenarios with various other Pokémon.

Sleeves: The majority of sleeve packs released by the Pokémon Center in January 2016 were originally released in Japan. For the English release, each pack contained 65 card sleeves, and sold for a price of $7.99. Each sleeve received minor tweaks to the copyrights and design from its Japanese counterparts.
The We're Goomy Sleeves (Japanese: デッキシールド ヌメラだもの。Deck Shield: Numera's Stuff.), a part of the We're Goomy Collection, were originally available in Japanese Pokémon Centers on March 14, 2015. For their English release, The Japanese text ヘイヘイ was translated into the English Hey Hey, and the Japanese collection name was omitted completely, being replaced with more star graphics.
The Pikachu Tails Sleeves (Japanese: デッキシールド ピカチュウのしっぽDeck Shield: Pikachu's Tail) were initially released in Japan on January 17, 2015. The design features a completely yellow background with Pikachu's stripes and tail. The English release modifies the copyright running across the bottom border.
The Poké Ball Sleeves (Japanese: デッキシールド モンスターボール柄Deck Shield: Poké Ball Design) were released alongside the Pikachu Tails Sleeves in Japan on January 17, 2015. They sport the silhouettes of various Pokémon behind a basic Poké Ball design. The English release modifies the text along the bottom border.
The Team Magma and Team Aqua Sleeves are the only set of sleeves in the group that did not have a Japanese release. Featured in the design are the logos for Team Aqua and Team Magma, as well as silhouettes of Kyogre and Groudon.
Originally released to Japanese Pokémon Centers one year prior on January 17, 2015, the Flygon Sleeves (Japanese: デッキシールド 天体観測Deck Shield: Celestial Observation) feature various Hoenn Pokémon staring up at a starry night sky. The illustration was drawn by sui. The only differences between the two prints are copyrights.
Released in Japan on March 14, 2015, the Dragonite Sleeves (Japanese: デッキシールド カイリューDeck Shield: Kairyu) were the last of the sleeves available via the English Pokémon Center website in mid-January 2016. The scene portrayed is of Dragonite flying above a bed of flowers with Altaria and Bagon. The illustration was drawn by Kanako Eo. The only difference between the English and Japanese prints is the copyright information.

Mythical Pokémon Collection—Mew
To celebrate the Pokémon 20th Anniversary, several TCG products based on Mythical Pokémon were released throughout 2016 under the title of Mythical Pokémon Collections to coincide with scheduled event distributions. The first of these products featured Mew and was released February 22, 2016. This collection was the first product to include Generationsbooster packs, which could only be found in 20th Anniversary-branded merchandise and not in booster boxes. This release model saw a large demand for the Mew and subsequent Celebi collections, causing many retailers to increase their sale price. In addition to the two booster packs, the collection included a Full Art promotional Mew card, a Mew pin, and a code card for the TCGO.
The Shiny Mega Gyarados Collection was released on February 24, 2016. The collection was packaged with four booster packs from recent expansions, a promotional ShinyGyarados card, a figure of Shiny MegaGyarados, and a TCGO code card. Like previous figure boxes, this product was not sold in Europe and was substituted with the Shiny Mega Gyarados Box.
The Shiny Mega Gyarados Collection was replaced in Europe by the Shiny Mega Gyarados Box and was released on February 24, 2016. It featured promotional cards depicting the Shiny versions of Gyarados and Magikarp, a Jumbo M Gyarados-EX card, three XY Series booster packs, and a code card for the TCGO.
The Legendary Pokémon Pattern line of TCG merchandise was released exclusively through the Pokémon Center online shop on March 9, 2016. The products feature silhouettes of every Legendary Pokémon from the first six generations of the franchise.

Charizard-EX Red & Blue Collection
Several larger-size TCG products were released as part of the ongoing Pokémon 20th Anniversary celebrations in 2016, most of which focused on the evolved forms of the first partner Pokémon from Pokémon Red & Blue. The Charizard-EX Red & Blue Collection was the first of these, becoming available to purchase from March 19 in a number of markets overseen by The Pokémon Company International. Collections sold in North America contained four Generations booster packs, a promotional Charizard-EX card, and a sculpted Charizard figure; those sold in Europe came with largely the same contents, but featured a Jumbo version of the Charizard-EX promotional card instead of the figure. Both versions of the collection also included a code card that would unlock a digital Charizard-EX card in the Pokémon Trading Card Game Online.
The Mythical Pokémon Collection—Jirachi was the third product in the Mythical Pokémon Collection line, released as part of the 20th Anniversary of Pokémon celebrations. It was available from April 1, 2016 and included two Generations booster packs (only obtainable through 20th Anniversary-related merchandise), a promotional Full ArtJirachi card, a Jirachipin, and a code card for the TCGO.
Dollar Tree stores began to sell BREAKpoint 3-card Mini Packs from early April 2016. These packs contained an advertisement card, one Common card, one Uncommon card, and any other one card from the BREAKpoint expansion. These advertisements featured the TCG on one side and one of four things on the other: Play! Pokémon, Pokémon TV, Pokémon.com, or Pokémon the Series.
Ash-Greninja-EX Box
The Ash-Greninja-EX Box was released on April 13, 2016 and featured a promotional Pokémon-EX card depicting Ash-Greninja as first seen in Pokémon the Series. The card was originally given away in Japan to people who visited the Pokémon booth at the 43rd Next Generation World Hobby Fair. Each box came with a regular copy and an oversized copy of Ash-Greninja-EX, four XY Series booster packs, and a TCG Online code card.
Prerelease Tournaments have been a regular fixture of the TCG calendar since Organized Play was officially structured in 2003, during which attendees are given the opportunity to obtain and play with cards from the latest expansions before their official release. In Prereleases held prior to the Fates Collide expansion, participants were given six booster packs and were required to use cards from them to build a 40-card deck (basic Energy cards were also provided at venues). New for the Fates Collide Prereleases, however, were the introduction of Prerelease Kits, which included four Fates Collide booster packs and a sealed 23-card Prerelease pack for players to source their cards, as well as a Prerelease tip sheet. Prerelease packs comprised a random configuration of cards from predetermined pools, one of which supported the enclosed promotional card. A total of four Prerelease promotional cards were available in the kits, each of which featured alternate artwork to their in-set print and a stamp bearing the Fates Collide expansion logo. Each Prerelease pack also included a TCGO code card. Fates Collide Prereleases were held on the weekends of April 23–24, and April 30-May 1, 2016.
The final beginner-level Trainer Kit to be released during the XY Series was the XY Trainer Kit: Pikachu Libre & Suicune on April 27, 2016. Each kit contained two 30-card Half Decks built around Pikachu Libre and Suicune, in addition to a number of accessories and guides to aid TCG newcomers: an instruction sheet, two step-by-step booklets, an exclusive deck box, damage counters and status counters, a 2-player playmat and rulesheet, and a Pikachucoin. Kits also included a code card that would unlock digital versions of the Half Decks in the Pokémon Trading Card Game Online, as well as access to the combined Swift Current Theme Deck.
The Battle Ruler and Sky GuardianTheme Decks were released on May 2, 2016 alongside the Fates Collide expansion. Battle Ruler featured Zygarde and various supporting Fighting and Grass-type Pokémon, while Sky Guardian featured Lugia and a selection of Fire and Fairy-type Pokémon. Each deck came with a deck box, a 2-player playmat and rulesheet, a card checklist and summary sheet, a sheet of damage counters and status markers, a coin, and a code card for the Pokémon TCG Online.
Released concurrently with the Fates Collide expansion were two pairs of blisters. The Single Pack Blisters contained a booster pack, a coin, and either an XY PromoPansear or Gastly promotional card. The Three Pack Blisters came with three booster packs of the expansion, a coin, and a promotional card depicting either Vivillon or Froakie.
The Fates Collide Elite Trainer Box accompanied the Fates Collide expansion on May 2, 2016 and featured one of its central Pokémon, MegaAlakazam. Each box came packaged with eight Fates Collide booster packs, 65 Mega Alakazam sleeves, 45 basic Energy cards, a coin-flip die, acrylic Special Condition markers, damage-counter dice, a Fates Collide Player's Guide, four Mega Alakazam dividers, and a TCGO code card.

Three-card Mini Packs for the Fates Collide expansion were available exclusively at Dollar Tree stores from mid-June 2016. These promotional advertisements featured the TCG on one side and either the Play! Pokémon program, Pokémon TV, Pokémon.com, or Pokémon the Series on the other.
The Generations expansion was the first special expansion to have an associated Elite Trainer Box and was available first online at the Pokémon Center store from July 1, 2016. Sold at a higher price point than previous Elite Trainer Boxes, it came with ten booster packs instead of the usual eight (all Generations) and an exclusive Shaymin-EX promotional card that featured the same aesthetics as cards from Generations' Radiant Collection. Boxes also included 65 black-and-gold card sleeves featuring the Pokémon 20th logo, five copies of each basic Energy card from the Generations expansion (45 cards total), two acrylic Special Condition markers, a coin-flip die, six damage-counter dice, a Generations Player's Guide, four dividers, and a Pokémon Trading Card Game Online code card. It was subsequently made available through other retailers from September 2016.
An Ultra Pro 4-Pocket Portfolio featuring the four booster pack artworks from the Generations expansion was released in July 2016. Each portfolio can display up to 80 cards.

All variant cards with the exception of Druddigon were available in prior products.
The Pikachu-EX Red & Blue Collection was the fourth and final Red & Blue Collection, one of numerous products released in commemoration of the 20th Anniversary of Pokémon. Two different collections featuring Pokémon Yellow mascot Pikachu were available from September 14, 2016: one version was sold in North America; the other was sold in Europe. Each blister pack came with an XY booster pack and either a Furious Fists or Phantom Forces booster pack. The official Pokémon Center website also began selling these packs at a later date. The Giratina Three Pack Blister was released on December 1, 2016. It was packaged with three XY Series booster packs, a Kyogre or Groudoncoin, and a Giratina promotional card.
The 3-card Mini Packs for the Evolutions expansion, sold exclusively at Dollar Tree stores, were released midway through December 2016. For one dollar, the packs contained one Common, one Uncommon, and any other one card from the Evolutions expansion. Packs also included an advertisement card, which featured a generic TCG advert on one side, and a promotion for one of four things on the other: Play! Pokémon, Pokémon TV, Pokémon.com, or Pokémon the Series.
