The e-Card Era's merchandise ended up being rather limited compared to the other Eras of the Pokémon Trading Card Game. Featuring only two products, the e-Card Series merchandise rounds out the end of Generation II in preparation for the release of Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire in November 2002. Below is a chronological list of all the items released during the Japanese e-Card Era of the Trading Card Game.
Starter Pack
As one of only two pieces of merchandise made available during the e-Card era, the Starter Pack (Japanese: スターターパック), was released first on December 1, 2001. Like preceding Starter Packs, this half deck contains a random assortment of cards: four Pokémon and five Trainer cards are sourced from a collection of cards exclusive to the Starter Pack, which covers the Generation I and II first partner Pokémon and their Evolutions, eight cards from the first 32 of the Base Expansion Pack, plus thirteen Energy cards. The Starter Pack also comes with a rulebook, damage and status counters, and a coin.
