The Official Snivy, Tepig & Oshawott Mini Card File (Japanese: オフィシャルミニカードファイル ツタージャ・ポカブ・ミジュマル Official Mini Card File: Tsutarja•Pokabu•Mijumaru) similarly uses artwork featured on previous products, featuring starter Pokémon Snivy, Tepig, and Oshawott bordered by colored squares containing their respective Energy type symbols.
The Official Reshiram & Zekrom Collection File (Japanese: オフィシャルコレクションファイル レシラム・ゼクロム) has illustrations by 5ban Graphics on either side: the front features Reshiram and Zekrom surrounded by spheres of Energy while the reverse features the final forms of the Generation V starters—Serperior, Emboar, and Samurott. The file comes with ten 9-pocket pages and can hold around ten more.

Another version of the primary Beginning Set was made available on August 5, 2011. The Beginning Set + (Japanese: はじめてセット+ (プラス)) shares many similarities with its original counterpart in terms of content, but includes differently constructed Half Decks. The main focus of the set is the inclusion of the Nintendo DS game Pokémon Card Game: How to Play DS, which teaches players the fundamentals of the Pokémon Trading Card Game. The game remains exclusive to Japan, and marks the first TCG console-based game since Pokémon Trading Card Game 2: The Invasion of Team GR! released in 2001.

Battle Carnival 2011 merchandise

The Battle Carnival was introduced as another large-scale TCG event that catered for both new and experienced players. Its first incarnation was held at two locations in Japan: at the Mydome Osaka, Osaka on November 5 and 6, 2011 and at Sunshine City, Tokyo on November 19 and 20, 2011. Like the preceding Summer Carnival in Tokyo Tower, it offered many different activities in which participants could earn commemorative items not available elsewhere.

All visitors at each venue were given a silver version of the coin available in the Pokémon Card Game 15th Anniversary Premium Set. Visitors presenting a copy of the Beginning Set + to attendants were given a mini clear file featuring the Battle Carnival 2011 key visual illustrated by Hitoshi Ariga. Visitors who also showed attendants the menu screen of Pokémon Card Game: How to Play DS after clearing the game were given a copy of Cheren from the White Collection expansion. Packs of 32 Official Carnival Sleeves (Japanese: オフィシャルデッキシールド carnival Official Deck Shield: Carnival), which were exclusive to the event, could be purchased from vendors for ¥350 plus tax.

Participants of the Beginner's Classroom and Experience Battle side events were given an original sticker featuring the key visual. Participants of the How to Build a Deck Classroom were given a Deck Advance Sheet. A Jumbo Mewtwo promotional card was also given to participants of Experience Battle who completed at least 1 match. Other side events included the Reshiram VS Zekrom One Day Battle and Special Guest battles. Participants of the One Day Battle were given 1 September 2011 Gym Challenge promotional pack. The top 5 competitors from each league were given an Official Enjoy Deck Case, previously available to purchase at the Summer Carnival in Tokyo Tower, and 2 Official Carnival Sleeves. Those who won a match against a Special Guest were given 3 September 2011 Gym Challenge promotional packs.

Promotional Mirror Holofoil Sandile and Krokorok cards were given to participants of the main Victory Cup tournament, which had 3 leagues: the A League, open to elementary school students and below; the B League, open to junior high school students and above; and the O League, open to all ages. The A and B Leagues played using a BW-on format while the O League played using a DP-on format. Mirror Holofoil versions of Level Ball and Heavy Ball were given to players who progressed to the 'Premier Stage', which required 3 consecutive wins in the initial 'Challenge Stage'. The top 3 players in each league at each venue were given copies of new Victory Cup cards presented in acrylic trophy stands, which feature different illustrations and colored stamps depending on the position. Overall winners were also given 1 booster box each of Psycho Drive and Hail Blizzard, 1 copy of both the Reshiram-EX and Zekrom-EX Battle Strength Decks, and a copy of the Pokémon Card Game 15th Anniversary Premium Set. Those placing second were given 10 Psycho Drive and Hail Blizzard booster packs and a copy of both Battle Strength Decks, while those placing third were given 5 packs each from Psycho Drive and Hail Blizzard plus both Battle Strength Decks.

Official Pokémon Center Tohoku "Connected Smiles" Sleeves

An array of merchandise became available to purchase from Pokémon Centers across the country to coincide with the opening of Pokémon Center Tohoku on December 4, 2011—a campaign named "Connected Smiles". Among these were packs of 32 Official Pokémon Center Tohoku "Connected Smiles" Sleeves (Japanese: オフィシャルデッキシールド ポケモンセンタートウホク "つながる えがお" Official Deck Shield: Pokémon Center Tohoku "Connected Smiles"), which feature an ensemble illustration by Kouki Saitou of many Pokémon holding hands, including the mascots of the new store: Victini, Pikachu, Snivy. Each pack included a postcard featuring the same illustration. A promotional Pikachu card was also given away with any Pokémon Center purchase between December 4 and 9, 2011 and an exclusive Snivy was distributed at Pokémon Center Tohoku between December 4 and 18, 2011. Proceeds from the "Connected Smiles" campaign were donated to The Pokémon Company's "Pokémon with You" campaign, which was set up to help victims of the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami.
