Release information

This card was released as a Cosmos Holofoil XY Black Star Promotional card in the BREAKthrough Single Pack Blisters. In Japan, it was one of the XY-P Promotional cards made available as part of a twelve card promotional pack awarded to those who participated in the Pokémon Card Gym tournaments from the month of May 2015 through the month of July 2015. This print features the Pokémon Card Gym logo. It was reprinted in Japan as a promotional Full Art card and was given to customers who purchased a Premium Champion Pack booster box at participating Pokémon Card Gym venues, Pokémon Centers, and Pokémon Stores upon its release. This print features the Premium Champion Pack set logo.

The Regular XY-P Promotional print was available again in Japan as part of a sixteen card promotional pack awarded to participants of Pokémon Card Gym tournaments from November 2016 through to January 2017. As with the original, this print features the Pokémon Card Gym logo. This print was also later reprinted in the Japanese The Best of XY subset. The Full Art print was later released in English as one of the Yellow A Alternate cards, included in the Premium Trainer's XY Collection released October 20, 2017.
