White Treehollow (Japanese: 白の樹洞 White Tree Hollow) is a battle arena initially exclusive to Pokémon White 2. Located within White Forest, it is the counterpart to the Black Tower of Pokémon Black 2.

It can be accessed after White Forest is unlocked with the Unova Link's Key System. If a White 2 player clears Area 5 of the White Treehollow, that player can send the Treehollow Key to Black 2 players, granting them access to White Forest, and consequently, the White Treehollow.

The White Treehollow was established in White Forest between the events of Pokémon White and Pokémon White 2. The player cannot challenge it until he or she has defeated Alder in Floccesy Town after defeating the Elite Four and Champion.

It comprises ten randomly generated, progressively more complex areas, each with a number of Trainers. Each area contains a Gate Trainer and a Boss Trainer. To unlock the next area, the player must first defeat the Boss Trainer by defeating the Gate Trainer, who will unlock the Boss Trainer's room. Other Trainers in each area may also be challenged. A Nurse on each floor will heal the player's Pokémon after being defeated in battle, but only once. Unlike in most battle facilities, the player will earn experience and money for winning battles, but will forfeit the money earned during the challenge if the player loses or forfeits.

The Trainers in each area have a randomly selected team of two Pokémon from a personalized pool of about nine Pokémon. The Boss Trainer of each area has three Pokémon, which are fixed for each battle. The levels increase as the player progresses through the areas, beginning at level 40 and ending at level 60 in Normal Mode. The Boss Trainers' Pokémon have higher levels than those of other Trainers in the area, and they will be holding in-battle effect items such as Black Sludge, Life Orbs, or elemental Gems. The regular Trainers' Pokémon may hold Berries.

Starting from Area 6, the areas will be separated into different floors, which the player has to explore in order to find the Gate Trainer and/or the Boss Trainer. Each floor has its own set of rooms, Trainers, and Nurse.

Pokémon seen by the player while battling within the White Treehollow do not contribute to Pokémon seen on the player's Pokédex.

Upon beating the Boss Trainers in each of the areas, the player is rewarded with one or two different items.

In addition, White 2 players will also receive the Treehollow key to send to Black 2 players upon completing Area 5 for the first time.

Boss Trainers

The Boss Trainers always use the same set of three Pokémon. Upon visiting Area 10's Boss Trainer chamber for the first time on either White Treehollow or Black Tower, the player will face Benga in battle. Each Trainer has their Pokémon with 3 levels more and gives the player PokémonDollar.png600 more than previous Trainer in each order. Once he or she is defeated, the player will always battle the other Trainer in either facility.

  • With exception of Benga, each Boss Trainer's first letter in their name is based on the alphabetical order in each Area order. In the Japanese version, their first letter is based on the katakana in vowel "a" column order instead.
  • Any Pokémon Breeder will own two members of the Happiny evolution family.
  • Although the player is not allowed to use healing items such as Hyper Potions or Full Restores, out-of-battle healing through the HP Restoring Power is allowed.
