Summer Nights & Wishing Stars (Japanese: 真夏の空に願いをこめて Make a Wish to the Midsummer Sky) was a story event in Pokémon Masters EX. It was focused on the sync pairs N & Zoroark, Hilda & Grapploct, and Hilbert & Samurott.

During this event, players could earn two types of tickets from battles that could be redeemed in the shop. All battles could be challenged an unlimited number of times except Daily Extreme Battle 1, which could only be challenged once per day. Extra tickets were automatically exchanged with coins once the event was finished.

This event featured the Battle Challenge, where players were challenged to defeat a team of strong opponents. Players could complete event missions by clearing these areas with teams using various theme skills, earning medals and other rewards.

In addition, players could earn a medal for completing all the story areas in the event.

This event is the only way to obtainSong Key No. 00030, which allows "Sync Pair Showtime" to be played in the Jukebox.

First run

The event first ran from June 30 to July 17, 2022. The "N Seasonal Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting N (Summer 2022) and Zoroark for the duration of the event, and the "Hilda Seasonal Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Hilda (Summer 2022) and Grapploct starting on July 2, 2022 and lasting until the end of the event.

In this run, the two types of tickets that players could earn were Summer Tickets and Super Summer Tickets. The player could battle using N (Summer 2022) and Zoroark, Hilda (Summer 2022) and Grapploct, or Hilbert and Oshawott/Dewott/Samurott to obtain +0.6× bonus tickets; Gloria (Summer 2021) and Inteleon, Marnie (Summer 2021) and Grimmsnarl, Steven (Summer 2020) and Alolan Sandslash, or Lyra (Summer 2020) and Jigglypuff to obtain +0.4× bonus tickets; and any unlisted Dark- or Fighting-type sync pairs to obtain +0.2× bonus tickets.

Second run

The event reran from July 6 to 20, 2023. The "Super Spotlight Seasonal Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting N (Summer 2022) and Zoroark, Hilda (Summer 2022) and Grapploct, Gloria (Summer 2021) and Inteleon, Marnie (Summer 2021) and Grimmsnarl, Steven (Summer 2020) and Alolan Sandslash, and Lyra (Summer 2020) and Jigglypuff for the duration of the event.

In this run, the two types of tickets that players could earn were Summer Tickets B and Summer Tickets B+. The player could battle using N (Summer 2022) and Zoroark, Hilda (Summer 2022) and Grapploct, or Hilbert and Oshawott/Dewott/Samurott to obtain +0.6× bonus tickets; Tate (Summer 2023) and Jirachi, Liza (Summer 2023) and Celesteela, Gloria (Summer 2021) and Inteleon, Marnie (Summer 2021) and Grimmsnarl, Steven (Summer 2020) and Alolan Sandslash, or Lyra (Summer 2020) and Jigglypuff to obtain +0.4× bonus tickets; and any unlisted Dark- or Fighting-type sync pairs to obtain +0.2× bonus tickets.

If the player had already obtainedSong Key No. 00030 in the previous run, exchanging for it in the shop again would reward the player with a 3★ Power-Up.

Plot

N accompanies Hilda and Hilbert to a summer festival, despite his uncertainty that he will be able to enjoy it. At Hilda's urging, he attempts to participate in the various activities at the festival. Hilda gifts him a Wishing Star replica, and he decides to return the favor, asking Steven for help deciding what kind of stone to get for her. However, they are sidetracked by some Team Break members, who are scamming festival-goers with a rigged Poké Ball shell game. N wagers the Wishing Star replica to enter the game, and uses his Zoroark's powers of illusion to expose the fraud. Team Break destroys the Wishing Star replica before they flee, but N still comes to be happy that he attended the festival.

Hilbert	That's weird... If the probability of finding both Pokémon is 50 percent, why isn't anyone winning?
N	Because the probability isn't really 50 percent.
Hilda	What do you mean?
N	The 50 percent probability only applies to the first guess, where two out of the four options are correct. But on the second guess, you've got three options, and only one is a winner. So the probability of selecting that winner is just one in three. If you calculate the overall probability of picking a Pokémon twice in a row, the odds are actually one in six.
Hilda	What?! That's not even close to 50 percent!
Steven	Yeah. Plus, it looks like there's another reason why nobody's winning.
Masked Man (1)	Make sure you set them out CORRECTLY. Got it?
Masked Man (2)	Heheh. Yeah, yeah, I know!

Hilda	As long as nobody notices their tricks, they can just keep taking advantage of people! They’re using this festival to cheat people out of their precious treasures! How could anyone stoop so low?!
Hilbert	Do we really have to just stand here and watch this?
Hilda	Ugh! This is so frustrating! Isn’t there something we can do?!
N	Hmm, there might be something. I have an idea.

N	Next, that one.

Hilda	Hooray! You won!
Hilbert	Nice, N!
Masked Man (2)	B-but how?
Masked Man (1)	We only put one correct ball there in the first place, so there's no way you could've—
Lass	Huh? What did you say just now?!
Masked Man (1)	Uh... Oh, I mean, no! That was just, uh...a figure of speech!

Masked Man (1)	What would an illusion have to do with— Ohhh, I get it now. Zoroark can make people see illusions! You tricked us!
N	I'd say that goes for you as well. At any rate, the game's over. Now if you'd just return the treasure I—
Masked Man (1)	Shut up! Here's your trashy treasure!
(The masked man stomps on the pendant)

Hilda	H-he smashed it to pieces! N! I've had enough of this! Let's take down Team Break together!
N	Yes. Let's.
Masked Man (1)	You think YOU'VE had enough? What about us?! Hey, you! Get over here!
(A third masked man appears)
Hilbert	If it's three we're up against, then I'm joining you two!
Hilda	Let's go! The three of us together'll really teach 'em a lesson!
(Hilbert, Hilda, and N battle and defeat Team Break)
Masked Man (1)	Ngah!
Masked Man (2)	Th-they got us!
Hilda	Now you're gonna give back every single treasure you took from people here. You got that?!
Hilbert	And about that Mythical Pokémon you claimed to have as a prize...
Masked Man (1)	That was just a lie to get people to play the game! We haven't caught any Mythical Pokémon!
Hilbert	*sigh* I thought that was probably the case.
Hilda	I've had enough of your lies! If you try anything awful like this again...
Masked Man (1)	Eeek! We won't—we promise!
(Team Break runs away)
Steven	That was a good battle. I'd love to battle with you all myself sometime.
Hilda	Yeah, definitely!
(Steven leaves)
Hilda	Ahhh, that felt good!
N	I'm so sorry, Hilda. The present you gave me—it...
Hilda	Oh, you don't need to worry for my sake.

Hilda	The only thing they broke was that pendant. They can't break our memories, you know? Instead of a pendant, let's just etch today's memories into our hearts!

Hilda	It's all so beautiful. But now it's going to end. I wasn't finished enjoying the festival...
Hilbert	I think we already enjoyed it quite a bit.
Hilda	But I wanted to hang out with you two even more!
N	It...really is beautiful.
Hilbert	What was that, N?
N	I'm sure today's memories will live on forever in my heart. That's how beautiful this is. When you first invited me to the summer festival, I thought I should refuse because I didn't really know how to properly enjoy one. I felt guilty that I wouldn't be able to truly enjoy it with you. But both of you were so kind to me, Hilda and Hilbert. I had a wonderful time with you tonight. That really was fun. Thank you for inviting me. I'll never forget the moments we shared today.
Hilbert	Same!
Hilda	I won’t either, N!
N	And...I don't want it to end with just tonight. I hope I can go to another summer festival again with you two. And we'll make more memories just as fun as the ones we made today.
