Game-exclusive moves are moves that are available in some but not all core series games in a single generation. They are often the signature moves of game-exclusive Pokémon.
This list does not take into account moves being Sketched or used via a calling move like Metronome.

Generation V
- Searing Shot is exclusive to Victini, who can only be found in Black and White, but only with an event.
Generation VI
- Hyperspace Fury can only be learned in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, but the only Pokémon able to do so, Hoopa Unbound, is event-exclusive.
- Origin Pulse, Precipice Blades, Dragon Ascent, and Hyperspace Fury are not programmed into Pokémon X and Y. As such, Pokémon which know these moves cannot be traded to X and Y, cannot be used in a link battle against X and Y, and cannot be withdrawn from Pokémon Bank to a copy of X or Y.
Generation VII
- Plasma Fists can only be learned in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, but the only Pokémon able to do so, Zeraora, is event-exclusive.
- Mind Blown, Plasma Fists, Photon Geyser, Light That Burns the Sky, Searing Sunraze Smash, Menacing Moonraze Maelstrom, Let's Snuggle Forever, Splintered Stormshards, and Clangorous Soulblaze are not programmed into Pokémon Sun or Moon. As such, Pokémon which know these moves cannot be traded to Sun or Moon, cannot be used in a link battle against Sun and Moon, and cannot be withdrawn from Pokémon Bank to a copy of Sun or Moon.
