Slack Off (Japanese: なまける Slack Off) is a non-damaging Normal-type move introduced in Generation III. Prior to Generation IV, it was the signature move of Slakoth and Slaking.

Effect

Generations III and IV

Slack Off restores up to 50% of the user's maximum HP, rounded down.

Slack Off can be used as the second move of a Pokémon Contest combination, with the user gaining 1 bonus appeal point if Yawn was used in the previous turn.

Generations V to VIII

Slack Off now restores 50% of the user's maximum HP, rounded up.

If powered up by a Normalium Z into Z-Slack Off, all of the user's lowered stats are reset.

Generation IX

Slack Off's PP was reduced from 10 to 5.

Pokémon UNITE

In Pokémon UNITE, Slack Off is Slowbro's second move. The user takes a nap, healing over the duration. Taking damage during the channel will reduce the amount healed. After reaching level 6, it is replaced by either Amnesia or Telekinesis.

Trivia

  • In Generation III, the status screen erroneously states that the move has 100% accuracy, even though it targets the user (thus it ignores accuracy and evasion checks).
