Mist Ball (Japanese: ミストボール Mist Ball) is a damage-dealing Psychic-type move introduced in Generation III. It is the signature move of Latias.

Effect

Mist Ball inflicts damage and has a 50% chance of lowering the target's Special Attack stat by one stage. It does not affect targets with Bulletproof.

Mist Ball can be used as the second move of a Pokémon Contest combination, with the user gaining 1 bonus appeal point if Calm Mind was used in the previous turn.

Generations III to VIII

Mist Ball has a base power of 70.

Generation VIII

In Versions 1.0 to 1.2.1 of Pokémon Sword and Shield, Mist Ball could not be selected in a battle. Starting with Version 1.3.0, it is usable and functions the same as it did in previous generations.

Generation IX

In Versions 1.0 to 2.0.2 of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Mist Ball could not be selected in a battle. Starting with Version 3.0.0, it is usable and functions the same as it did in previous generations.

Furthermore, Mist Ball's base power has been increased to 95.
