Uxie (Japanese: ユクシー Yuxie) is the first member of the Sinnoh region's Psychic-type Legendary Pokémon trio.
Biology
Uxie has a small blue body about the size of Mew. It has a yellow and round head with a jewel (probably a ruby), embedded in its forehead, and in its Sugimori art it appears to be sleeping, or closing its eyes in deep thought. It should be noted that Uxie's eyelids are also yellow, although they are obviously not part of the top of the head where the other yellow is. Uxie has two tails which both split into three legs at the ends. Two more rubies are located on Uxie's two tails' bulkness at the the part where each of them split. Uxie also resembles a religious monk. It should be noted that its head resembles a human brain, since it is the Knowledge Pokémon. Like Mesprit and Azelf, its partners in the legendary trio, it has two tails with jewels embedded in them, and the only major difference between them is their heads and their faces. It is said that it can wipe out the memory of those who see its eyes. It is also believed that the mystic trio were all hatched from the same egg.
Uxie is referred to as "The Being of Knowledge". It is said that the wisdom that enriches the lives of humans was brought with the birth of Uxie. Similar to the legend of the basilisk where the basilisk could cause death by a single glance, Uxie can cause a complete mindwipe by a single glance, hence why its eyes are always closed.

Trivia
- Uxie is, as of Generation IV, one of the three lightest legendary Pokémon, tied with the other members of its trio. It is also, tied with the other members of its trio, the second lightest of all Pokémon, after Gastly and Haunter.
Origin
Uxie is based after a pixie or a fairy and the color umber. Uxie and the rest of the trio could possibly have originated from the Imperial Regalia of Japan, which are also called the Three Sacred Treasures. Uxie would be the Mirror of Wisdom.
Name origin
Uxie's name is probably a pun of the Japanese word for knowledge, gakushiki. The final part of its name, xie, comes from pixie.
