Trivia
- Tornelos is the first and so far only pure Flying-type Pokémon. However, other Pokémon were able to become pure Flying-types through their abilities, such as Kecleon and Arceus.
- This makes it also the only purely typed Pokémon with a unique type combination.
- Tornelos and Voltolos have the exact same base stats.
- Tornelos is also the only Generation V legendary Pokémon with only one type.
- When Tornelos appears on Route 7, Voltolos's cry is heard.
- Tornelos shares the same species name with Erufuun; they are both known as the Whirlwind Pokémon.
Origin
Tornelos is based on Fūjin, the kami of wind.
Name origin
The name Tornelos is from トルネード, tornado.
