Plot
Tate and Liza are watching the stars with Molayne while wearing their special outfits for the star festival. While they watch, they practice the song they're going to sing for the festival. Since Molayne is teaching them about the stars, they agree to teach him the song.
While preparing for their dance practice in the forest, Tate and Liza notice something shining in the distance. They go to investigate and find a Jirachi sleeping near a lake. Archie appears and tells them about Jirachi's ability to grant wishes, and he asks them to keep it a secret so people don't get greedy for Jirachi's power. They agree without hesitation. Then, they leave the forest. In the park, they run into Anabel and Nanu, who have been assigned to protect Tate and Liza so that nothing happens to them before the star festival. Anabel explains that Ultra Wormholes have been opening more frequently, and it's better to be safe than sorry. Days later, Liza is practicing her dance by herself, with Anabel watching. Anabel commends her for improving, but just as they're about to go meet up with Tate and Nanu, an Ultra Wormhole opens up and pulls Liza in. Anabel dives in after her, and the wormhole closes before their Pokémon can follow.
Tate and Nanu arrive at the meeting point and find Liza's Lunatone and Anabel's Snorlax, but they can't find Liza or Anabel anywhere. Archie appears, and they fill him in on the situation. Archie says he'll help them search, noting that it's strange for the Trainer to be missing and not their Pokémon. Nanu speculates that they've been sent to the other side of an Ultra Wormhole, so they call Lusamine and the Aether Foundation to investigate. Lusamine confirms that there's evidence of an Ultra Wormhole having appeared in the area, but she doesn't know where it could have sent them. It's too dangerous to just open up Ultra Wormholes randomly and hope to find them, and Tate despairs that he'll never see his sister again. Archie tells Tate not to despair and heads off with him to find Jirachi.
Meanwhile, Liza and Anabel find themselves in a place similar to Pasio, but there are no signs of people anywhere. Liza is scared, but Anabel promises to protect her. Suddenly, a Celesteela appears. Fortunately, it doesn't seem hostile, though Anabel doesn't know why it would be in a place like this. A hostile Nihilego appears, but the Celesteela fights it off. Liza thanks it for the help, but it doesn't react. Anabel suspects that all the Ultra Beasts here have been pulled here from their own worlds, so there might be an Ultra Wormhole here that leads to somewhere else.
Back on Pasio, Tate and Archie arrive at the lake where Jirachi is sleeping. Archie tells Tate that there's a legend that says Jirachi will awaken from its sleep if you sing to it with a pure voice, and it will grant your wish. He thinks that if Tate sincerely wants to find his sister, Jirachi will respond and grant his wish. Tate thanks Archie for this chance, and he sings the song that he was practicing with Liza. Jirachi wakes up, and Tate wishes for Liza and Anabel to come back to Pasio.
In the strange world, Anabel and Celesteela follow Liza, who can hear Tate singing and is running towards the source. They find an Ultra Wormhole in the middle of a forest, which Liza says she can hear Tate singing through. However, the wormhole is high above the ground, higher than they can reach. So, Anabel asks Celesteela to fly them up to the Ultra Wormhole. With a little help from Liza, Celesteela understands the message, and Liza and Anabel grab on to Celesteela and fly through the wormhole.
Tate, Archie, and Jirachi are in the forest on Pasio, where an Ultra Wormhole has opened up. As Tate begs for his sister to come back, Liza, Anabel, and Celesteela suddenly arrive through the wormhole. Tate greets them joyfully, and Liza greets him with equal enthusiasm. Tate asks if she's OK, and she says she's fine because Anabel and Celesteela protected her. Tate thanks Jirachi for its help, and he explains to Liza and Anabel what happened. Archie is happy that Tate and Liza have been reunited, so he leaves the rest to Anabel.
Days later, at the star festival, Molayne meets up with Tate and Liza and apologizes for not being able to help them. They tell him not to worry, and introduce him to their new friends Jirachi and Celesteela. Tate and Liza perform their song and dance for everyone, alongside Molayne and their new partners. Archie and Shelly observe that Jirachi has met a nice Trainer, and Archie asks her what she's wishing for. Shelly says it's probably the same as him. Archie laughs, and thinks to himself that his wish is for people and Pokémon to keep laughing together like this when Tate and Liza are all grown up, and even long after that.
