The male player character can become a Marquis after defeating enough Trainers in the Battle Chateau and, along with its female counterpart class Marchioness, is the next noble rank held by both him and trainers of the Battle Chateau after Earl.

Opponent Marquises all maintain parties of two Pokémon which are at least level 35 (or level 40, if the marquis in question is also a Gym Leader), if the player has not issued a Writ of Challenge.

Appearance

Marquises can appear as a Rich Boy, a Monsieur, a Butler or any of the male Gym Leaders of Kalos.
