This event ran from November 30 to December 19, 2022. It was focused on {{mas|Serena}} and {{mas|Calem}}. The "Serena Master Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting {{sync|Serena|Greninja|Champion}} from the beginning of the event to January 9, 2023, and the "Calem Master Fair Scout" gave an increased chance of recruiting {{sync|Calem|Greninja|Champion}} from December 2, 2022 to January 9, 2023.

During this event, players could earn Event Vouchers M from battles that could be redeemed in the {{mas|shop}}. All battles could be challenged an unlimited number of times except Daily Extreme Battle 1, which could only be challenged once per day. This event featured the Battle Challenge, where players were challenged to defeat a team of strong opponents. Players could complete event missions by clearing these areas with teams using various theme skills, earning {{mas|medal}}s and other rewards. Players could also earn a medal for completing all the story areas in the event. Other event missions awarded {{mas|Gem}}s and {{mas|Battle Point}}s.
 
The event reran from March 5 to 19, 2024. Event Voucher M was replaced with Event Voucher O, and the event missions were changed to award only Gems. Everything else was the same as the previous run.
 
===Plot===
{{mas|Serena}} and {{mas|Calem}} rescue a couple of sync pairs who are being harassed by [[Team Break]] with their partner Pokémon, {{p|Greninja}} and [[Shiny Pokémon|Shiny Greninja]]. The sync pairs are discouraged that they couldn't defeat Team Break on their own, but Serena delivers a rousing speech that encourages them to not give up. [[Lear]], having witnessed the incident, congratulates them on a job well done and invites them to get ready for a new event that he's starting that will be perfect for sync pairs like them. As Serena wonders what the event could be, Calem contemplates the fact that Serena was the one who encouraged the Trainers while he just helped fight Team Break, and he wonders if he's worthy of being her rival.
 
Later, Serena and Calem are summoned to Lear's villa, where they find not only Lear waiting for them but also all the {{pkmn|Champion}}s on [[Pasio]]—{{mas|Lance}}, {{mas|Steven}}, {{mas|Cynthia}}, {{mas|Alder}}, {{mas|Iris}}, {{mas|Diantha}}, and {{mas|Leon}}. He invites them to participate in the Neo Champion Stadium, a new tournament designed to support the idea that the truly mighty are not only strong, but also set an example for others. The Champions explain that in a Neo Champion Stadium tournament, one Champion will be chosen as the head judge who decides the judging criteria of that tournament, while the other Champions are secondary judges who help evaluate participants based on the head judge's criteria. A participant will be judged not only on their skills in battle, but also by their actions. There will be multiple tournaments held, each with different judging criteria, and more than one person can qualify as a Neo Champion in each tournament. For the first tournament, Diantha will be the head judge, and she invites Calem and Serena to participate. They happily accept, and Calem vows to defeat Serena and become the first Neo Champion of Pasio.
 
However, after leaving Lear's villa, Calem realizes that he'll never be able to beat Serena if he trains the same way he's always done. Fortunately, Alder shows up and offers to help him train for the tournament. Meanwhile, Serena is training with Cynthia for the tournament. Cynthia asks her about her rivalry with Calem, and Serena explains that she's really fired up to beat him. Then, {{mas|Jasmine}} shows up to help Serena with her training.
 
Alder and Calem begin their training, and Alder asks Calem what his motivation is to participate in the tournament. Calem says that he wants to become Champion, but more than that, he wants to defeat Serena, since he's never beaten her before and he views her as his true rival. Alder then asks him what he thinks the meaning of the Neo Champion Stadium is, to which he guesses that it means that it's better to have more Trainers who can be an example to others. Alder says that there's more to it than that, and explains how he once lost to {{mas|N|a Trainer}} with true convictions, and that Trainer was then beaten by {{mas|Hilbert|another Trainer}} with true convictions, and both of them were true heroes. He says that none of their convictions were better than the others, and he believes that this tournament will allow people with different convictions to compete with each other and give courage to those watching. Calem says that those words resonate with him because he used to always compare himself to others, but now that doesn't matter—he just wants to battle Serena with his true feelings and win. Alder is pleased with this response, and invites {{mas|Acerola}} to come out and help Calem for the next stage of his training.
 
When the day of the tournament arrives, Diantha introduces the tournament and says that her judging criteria is how participants shine as a sync pair. Serena and Calem battle their way through the tournament, ultimately facing off against each other in the finals. After a tense battle, Calem manages to defeat Serena, and she acknowledges his skill as her rival. Diantha says that both of them shone brilliantly, and she wants to award the title of Neo Champion to both of them. Serena is shocked because she lost, but Calem encourages her to accept it because he couldn't have gotten here without her rivalry. So, at the end of the day, Lear presents both Calem and Serena in their Neo Champion outfits as the new Neo Champions of Pasio.

==Fight for the Future Together==

This event ran from February 28 to March 25, 2023. It was focused on {{mas|Marnie}}, {{mas|Hop}}, and {{mas|Bede}}. The "Marnie Master Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting {{sync|Marnie|Galarian Moltres|Champion}} from the beginning of the event to April 9, 2023. The "Hop Master Fair Scout" gave an increased chance of recruiting {{sync|Hop|Galarian Zapdos|Champion}} from March 2 to April 9, 2023. The "Bede Master Fair Scout" gave an increased chance of recruiting {{sync|Bede|Galarian Articuno|Champion}} from March 4 to April 9, 2023.
 
During this event, players could earn Event Vouchers Y from battles that could be redeemed in the {{mas|shop}}. All battles could be challenged an unlimited number of times except Daily Extreme Battle 1, which could only be challenged once per day. Extra vouchers were automatically exchanged with coins once the event was finished.
 
The player could battle using Marnie (Champion) & Galarian Moltres, Hop (Champion) & Galarian Zapdos, or Bede (Champion) & Galarian Articuno to obtain +0.6× bonus vouchers; {{sync|Leon|Charizard}}, {{sync|Gloria|Zacian}}, or {{sync|Victor|Rillaboom}} to obtain +0.4× bonus vouchers; and {{sync/player|Pikachu}}, {{sync/player|Torchic}}, or any unlisted [[File:Theme skill icon region.png|20px|link=Theme skill]] [[Galar]] [[sync pair]]s to obtain +0.2× bonus vouchers.
 
This event featured the Battle Challenge, where players were challenged to defeat a team of strong opponents. Players could complete event missions by clearing these areas with teams using various theme skills, earning {{mas|medal}}s and other rewards. Players could also earn a medal for completing all the story areas in the event.
 
===Plot===
{{mas|Leon}} announces the beginning of the second Neo Champion Stadium, for which he will be the head judge. Then he lays out the rules for this tournament: participants will have to form three-person teams to take on the trio of himself, {{mas|Victor}}, and {{mas|Gloria}}, and they will be judged on their passion for victory and determination to grow stronger together with others. Leon reminds the crowd that they don't have to beat his team to become Neo Champions, but he wants all participants to give it their best shot and try to win. Large crowds have gathered in [[Centra City]] and the [[Pokémon Center]] to watch the announcement, including {{mas|Hop}}, {{mas|Marnie}}, and {{mas|Bede}}.
 
The next day, Hop and Marnie have a practice battle in the forest with their new partners, Galarian {{p|Zapdos}} and Galarian {{p|Moltres}}. They're planning to compete in the tournament, but they don't know who to invite to be their third team member - {{mas|Piers}} has already teamed up with {{mas|Raihan}} and {{mas|Gordie}}, and {{mas|Sonia}} has already teamed up with {{mas|Nessa}} and {{mas|Bea}}. In addition, Victor and Gloria are judges, so they can't participate. Marnie wonders why they'd give up the opportunity to become Neo Champions, and Hop shrugs it off and suggests they get back to training. Before they can resume, however, Galarian {{p|Articuno}} shows up and gets into a stand-off with the other two Galarian [[legendary birds]]. As Hop and Marnie look on in shock, Bede appears, reveals that he's formed a sync pair with Articuno, and smugly offers to join their team.
 
Hop is less than impressed by his arrogance, guessing that Bede is in the same boat as them - he couldn't find anyone else to join his team. Marnie knows that they need another teammate, though, so she agrees to let him join. The three Trainers reminisce about how difficult their partner Pokémon were to catch, and as Hop notes that they're all pretty rebellious, the three legendaries get into a squabble. Hop, Bede, and Marnie manage to calm them down, but Hop worries that they won't be able to show Leon the teamwork he's expecting from Neo Champions. Bede tells Hop not to hold him back, which angers Hop, and Marnie comments that the three of them need to get on the same page before they can work together as a good team.
 
Elsewhere, Leon thanks Victor and Gloria for helping him out, even though they forfeit the right to become Neo Champions. They assure him that the fact that he trusts them enough to be his allies is just as good as becoming Neo Champion. The trio are looking forward to battling all their challengers - especially Hop - and they start training to take them on, revealing that Gloria will be using {{p|Inteleon}}, Victor will be using {{p|Rillaboom}}, and Leon will be using {{TP|Leon|Charizard}}.
 
Back in the forest, Hop, Marnie, and Bede are now discussing their strategy for how to take down Leon, Victor, and Gloria. Marnie wonders if they have any weaknesses that can be exploited, and Hop says that Leon is incredibly strong but gets tunnel vision in a heated battle and doesn't notice what's going on with his allies. Marnie says that Gloria is great at offense but lacking in defense, and Bede says that Victor is a careful thinker and strategist, but he can overthink his tactics sometimes which delays his reaction time. Hop comments that Victor's tendency to strategize means he's likely to be the one calling the shots for the whole team, and Marnie comes up with a plan that they hope will catch the others off guard and allow their team to claim victory.
 
On the day of the tournament, Leon's team is steadily but consistently battling their way through all their challengers. Sonia's team tries to gang up on Leon to take his Charizard down first, but in doing so they leave themselves vulnerable to be taken out by Victor and Gloria's Pokémon. Raihan's team achieves a little more success; by having Gordie and Raihan team up on Leon while Piers plays defense, they manage to defeat Charizard, but Inteleon and Rillaboom subsequently take them all out. Finally, Hop's team arrives to challenge Leon's team, and after exchanging a few words, the battle begins.
 
Hop, Marnie, and Bede manage to split the battle into three one-on-ones: Hop fighting Leon, Marnie fighting Gloria, and Bede fighting Victor. Leon and Gloria think they're planning to take them down individually, but Victor is skeptical and starts trying to figure out what they're really planning. Eventually, he realizes that they're going to try to gang up on him, but before he can warn his teammates, Hop and Marnie command their partners to help Articuno attack Rillaboom, and Rillaboom is taken out. Then, Articuno and Moltres gang up on Inteleon. When Leon tries to send Charizard to help Inteleon out, Hop's Zapdos blocks his way. After Inteleon is taken out, it's down to a true three-on-one. Leon refuses to give up, and Hop knows better than to underestimate him, but he declares that he and his teammates will fight to open up a new future. Their Pokémon clash, and Hop's team is eventually victorious.
 
With the tournament over, Hop, Bede, and Marnie pose on the arena's stage with their partners and their new Neo Champion outfits. Leon congratulates them on becoming Neo Champions, and explains how their victory demonstrated their passion for victory and determination to get stronger together. Sonia and Raihan's teams congratulate them on their victory, and Piers reminds them that everyone's eyes will now be on them. Marnie, Bede, and Hop assure him that they'll be good role models befitting of the title of Neo Champion, and Hop declares that they'll carry on and get stronger together.

This event ran from August 28 to October 2, 2023. It was focused on {{mas|Red}}, {{mas|Blue}}, and {{mas|Leaf}}. The "Red Master Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting {{sync|Red|Articuno|Champion}} from the beginning of the event to October 7, 2023. The "Leaf Master Fair Scout" gave an increased chance of recruiting {{sync|Leaf|Moltres|Champion}} from August 30 to October 7, 2023. The "Blue Master Fair Scout" gave an increased chance of recruiting {{sync|Blue|Zapdos|Champion}} from August 30 to October 7, 2023.
 
During this event, players could earn Event Vouchers I from battles that could be redeemed in the {{mas|shop}}. All battles could be challenged an unlimited number of times except Daily Extreme Battle 1, which could only be challenged once per day. Extra vouchers were automatically exchanged with coins once the event was finished.

===Plot===
Lear announces everyone that he, Colress, and Iris are holding a new Neo Champion in Pasio, with Iris and Colress being the judges. Colress uses the Colress Machine to examine the performance of the Neo Champion trainers. Nate and Haxorus are nominated by N, Hilbert, and Hilda. Meanwhile, the three tell Nate that he is nominated for the Neo Champion. While Rosa and Hugh are busy together, N tells Nate that his emotions are touched his heart when he battled with Ghetsis. Nate summons Haxorus to get some training, but Ingo and Emmet arrive to help repair the train tracks, courtesy of Haxorus and Excadrill. Clay arrives in the caverns to tell the three about restoring the cave, but he tells Nate that he is supposed to prepare for the Neo Champion. However, Nate tells him that he needs to support for people who forget and enters the snowy mountains. Ingo and Emmet complements Clay about how clean the cave is and the latter tells to them about Nate's talent. In the snowy mountains, Marlon arrives and tells Nate that he is swimming with Carracosta. Nate tells him that he is preparing for the Neo Champion, but Marlon remembers the time Nate fought Team Plasma and the latter remembers the time he hates Ghetsis during his encounter in Unova, despite being N's father. N tells Nate that he has a kind heart who resonates with others, gets mad when he yelled at Ghetsis, and cries for him. Marlon tells Nate that he is strong as a gnarly wave when he talks about how he treats others with respect. When Nate arrives at the Pokémon Masters League Tournament, he faces Rose with Copperajah and Emma with Crobat for the Neo Champion event based on their power to touch their hearts. Nate challenges Rei and Hisuian Decidueye in a fierce competition. Hisuian Decidueye starts attacking Haxorus but Nate tells the latter to trust him and follow his lead. N, Hilbert, and Hilda watch Nate and Rei's Pokémon fighting to see who is the greatest. Haxorus dodges Hisuian Decidueye's attack and engage its sync move, Resonating Will Dragon Claw, thus defeating it for good. Iris and Colress arrive in the podium to announce Nate as the winner of the Neo Champion. Colress analyzes Haxorus' skills and tactics by having a significant jump in its power, despite it only defending. He tells the audience that it was magnificent after stating that Haxorus trusted Nate with their ability to resonate their feelings was explosive. Nate says his speech to everyone while watching the sky about his motivation as a Neo Champion, with Hilbert, Hilda, and N cheering for him and Haxorus.

This event ran from December 25, 2023 to January 14, 2024. It was focused on {{mas|Rosa}}. The "Rosa Master Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting {{sync|Rosa|Meloetta|Champion}} from the beginning of the event to January 29, 2024.
 
During this event, players could earn Event Vouchers B from battles that could be redeemed in the {{mas|shop}}. All battles could be challenged an unlimited number of times except Daily Extreme Battle 1, which could only be challenged once per day. Extra vouchers were automatically exchanged with coins once the event was finished.
 
The player could battle using Rosa (Champion) & Meloetta or Nate (Champion) & Haxorus to obtain +0.6× bonus vouchers; {{sync|Iris|Hydreigon}}, {{sync|Dawn|Oricorio|New Year's 2023}}, {{sync|Lisia|Altaria}}, {{sync|Dawn|Turtwig}}/Grotle/Torterra, {{sync|Hugh|Bouffalant}}, {{sync|Bianca|Musharna}}, or {{sync|Colress|Klinklang}} to obtain +0.4× bonus vouchers; and any unlisted [[File:Theme skill icon region.png|20px|link=Theme skill]] [[Unova]] [[sync pair]]s to obtain +0.2× bonus vouchers.
 
This event featured the Battle Challenge, where players were challenged to defeat a team of strong opponents. Players could complete event missions by clearing these areas with teams using various theme skills, earning {{mas|medal}}s and other rewards. Players could also earn a medal for completing all the story areas in the event.
 
Additionally, the music and artwork on the title screen were different than usual. The title screen artwork depicted Nate (Champion) & Haxorus and Rosa (Champion) & Meloetta, and the background music was [[File:Masters Song Key.png|30px|link=Jukebox (Masters)]]Battle! (Unova Neo Champion) (Pokémon Masters EX Version). In addition, a special voice-over line of Nate or Rosa saying "Pokémon Masters EX" would play as soon as the game's logo appeared on the title screen. However, when players updated to version 2.40.0 (released on December 26, 2023), the music and artwork returned to normal, though Nate or Rosa's special voice-over line still played until January 12, 2024.
 
===Plot===
While {{mas|Nate}} is competing in the Neo Champion Stadium, {{mas|Rosa}}'s {{p|Meloetta}} is practicing its singing in a cave with Rosa and {{mas|Hugh}} watching. Hugh and Rosa think it's ready to sing in front of a crowd, but Meloetta isn't feeling confident enough yet. Rosa wants to help Meloetta feel more confident, but Hugh recommends that they take it easy for the rest of the day so they don't push themselves too hard and get sick. The pair head back to town, where they learn that Nate has just been announced as Pasio's latest Neo Champion. After the announcement, {{mas|Colress}} and {{mas|Iris}} comment that the power to touch the hearts of others can be expressed in many ways, not just through Pokémon battles. So, Iris announces that they'll be holding a second part of this Neo Champion Stadium. Lear is annoyed that Iris and Colress did this without consulting him, but he allows them to go through with it. Iris explains that like in the first part, [[sync pair]]s will need to be nominated in order to participate, but this time they'll be judged on a performance that they give instead of their battling skills.
 
A few days later, Rosa and Meloetta have been nominated by Hugh, {{mas|Cheren}}, and {{mas|Bianca}}, and they're both nervous about it. However, Rosa really wants to live up to everyone's expectations, so she starts trying to come up with a plan for their performance. Suddenly, they're approach {{mas|Lisia}} and {{mas|Dawn}}, whom Hugh brought there to help Rosa with her performance. Rosa introduces them to Meloetta and asks it to show off what they've been practicing. Meloetta performs its {{m|Relic Song}}, transforming into {{form|Meloetta|Pirouette Forme}} and then back to Aria Forme. Dawn and Lisia are impressed, and Dawn asks Rosa if she's going to sing or dance alongside Meloetta. Rosa admits she hasn't decided yet because she's not good at singing or dancing, and Dawn assures her that she can do anything as long as she's with Meloetta. Lisia suggests that she express her feelings in her own way, which gives Rosa the idea to do a performance that combines singing, dancing, and acting - a musical. She runs off to start preparing, and Hugh thanks Dawn and Lisia for their help before following Rosa. Dawn says she's glad that they were able to help Rosa, but they just cheered on the person they're going to be competing against.
 
Later, Rosa and Meloetta are practicing their show by the fountain in town when one of the audience members turns away after being disappointed by Meloetta's performance, which discourages Meloetta. Rosa tells everyone that she and Meloetta will be participating in the upcoming Neo Champion Stadium, and that they want to show everyone how wonderful their home region [[Unova]] is through their performance. She says that she feels like she can accomplish anything with Meloetta by her side, which gets the crowd fired up and cheers Meloetta up. Hugh, who has been watching the performance, is satisfied that they're going to be OK. However, unbeknownst to Hugh, Rosa is developing a cough.
 
The day of the Neo Champion Stadium arrives, and all the participants take turns performing for the judges. Rosa and Meloetta's turn finally arrives, and Cheren and Bianca are nervous, but Hugh is confident that they can do it. Rosa announces that she and Meloetta are going to perform a musical to show their love for Unova, but as the music starts and she starts to sing, all that comes out is a cough. Rosa realizes she lost her voice, and a clamor rises from the crowd as Rosa continues to stand there without doing anything. However, having taken Dawn's advice to heart, Rosa thinks to herself that she'll be OK as long as she's with Meloetta, and she and Meloetta begin to dance together. Dawn and Lisia watch the performance in awe, and Colress notes that the numbers are rising on his machine. Iris says that she can feel Rosa and Meloetta's love for Unova even without words. Hugh comments that Rosa always tries her hardest to make people smile, and Cheren and Bianca agree that she's accomplishing that.
 
That evening, Iris announces Rosa as the winner of the Neo Champion Stadium and invites her to come out, wearing her Champion outfit. Rosa says that her voice is feeling better because she got to rest for a bit, and then Nate comes out, also wearing his Champion outfit. Rosa congratulates him on becoming Neo Champion, as she never got to congratulate him after he first earned the title. Nate is happy to hear that, and he congratulates her on becoming Neo Champion, too. The crowd cheers as the two new Neo Champions smile at each other.

This event ran from February 28 to March 16, 2024. It was focused on {{mas|Silver}} and {{mas|Geeta}}. The "Geeta Master Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting {{sync|Geeta|Glimmora}} from the beginning of the event to April 8, 2024, and the "Silver Master Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting {{sync|Silver|Tyranitar|Champion}} from March 1 to April 8, 2024.
 
During this event, players could earn Event Vouchers N from battles that could be redeemed in the {{mas|shop}}. All battles could be challenged an unlimited number of times except Daily Extreme Battle 1, which could only be challenged once per day. Extra vouchers were automatically exchanged with coins once the event was finished.
 
The player could battle using {{sync|Geeta|Glimmora}} or {{sync|Silver|Tyranitar|Champion}} to obtain +0.6× bonus vouchers; {{sync|Lance|Dragonite}}, {{sync|Eusine|Suicune}}, or {{sync|Morty|Drifblim}} to obtain +0.4× bonus vouchers; and any unlisted [[File:Theme skill icon region.png|20px|link=Theme skill]] [[Paldea]] or [[File:Theme skill icon region.png|20px|link=Theme skill]] [[Johto]] [[sync pair]]s to obtain +0.2× bonus vouchers.
 
This event featured the Battle Challenge, where players were challenged to defeat a team of strong opponents. Players could complete event missions by clearing these areas with teams using various theme skills, earning {{mas|medal}}s and other rewards. Players could also earn a medal for completing all the story areas in the event.
 
Additionally, the music and artwork on the title screen were different than usual. The title screen artwork depicted Silver (Champion) & Tyranitar and Geeta & Glimmora, and the background music was [[File:Masters Song Key.png|30px|link=Jukebox (Masters)]]Battle! (Johto Neo Champion) (Pokémon Masters EX Version). In addition, a special voice-over line of Silver or Geeta saying "Pokémon Masters EX" would play as soon as the game's logo appeared on the title screen, chosen at random each time the title screen was loaded.

Neo Champions (Japanese: ネオ・チャンピオン Neo Champions) is a type of story event in Pokémon Masters EX. These events revolve around the Neo Champion Stadium, a recurring in-universe event that allows Trainers on Pasio to earn the title of Neo Champion. These events focus on one to three characters from a certain region and their journeys to becoming Neo Champions. While a variety of Trainers have been shown competing in Neo Champion Stadium tournaments, every tournament winner to date has been a player character or a rival.
