Throwback Challenge (Japanese: メモリアルチャレンジ Memorial Challenge) is a type of limited-time event in Pokémon Masters EX. It allows players to rematch previous opponents–either from event battles or from permanently available battles–and earn special rewards.
Battle Rewind
This event ran from February 28 to March 31, 2022. It featured both Full-Force Battles and Battle Challenges that were previously available in events. Players could complete event missions by clearing Full-Force Battles without letting their sync pairs faint, and by clearing Battle Challenges with teams using various theme skills, earning various rewards.
Two Full-Force Battle and two Battle Challenge areas were made available each day for the first six days of the event.

Rental Battle Event
This event ran from September 1 to 15, 2023. It featured a variety of battles from the PML Arc, the Villain Arc, Champion Stadium, events, and Evolution sync pair stories. In addition, each battle had a set team that players were required to use to complete it.
Players could complete event missions by clearing each battle, earning rewards such as 5★ Power-Up Tickets and a Move Candy Coin. One battle was made available each day for the first ten days of the event.
