Backwards compatibility

This template is designed to replace {{Pokémon/1}}, {{Pokémon/1/Walkthrough}}, {{Pokémon/2}}, {{Pokémon/3}}, {{Pokémon/3/Shadow}}, {{Pokémon/4}}, {{Pokémon/5}}, {{Pokémon/5/Pokéstar}}, {{Pokémon/6}}, {{Pokémon/7}}, {{Pokémon/7/LG}}, {{Pokémon/8}}, {{Pokémon/8/Dynamax}}, and {{Pokémon/9}}. It has therefore been designed to be compatible with as many of their parameters as possible.

Along with the above parameters, the following have been retained to maintain backwards compatibility, but are depreciated, and should be replaced:

Depreciated parameter Notes
img img only allowed .png files. image allows any valid file, and is how most other templates operate.
himg himg only allowed .png files. heldimage allows any valid file, and is how most other templates operate.

The way the template selects its image has been simplified, so the parameters back, game, and spritegender are now ignored. To show a game sprite, or other artwork, use image.
