This is a list of Pokémon obtainable from events found in Pokémon Emerald. These specific instances of Pokémon can only be obtained once per game; however, some may also be obtained in other ways as well.
List of Pokémon
Starter Pokémon
On Route 101, Professor Birch gets attacked by a wild Zigzagoon (Poochyena in Ruby, Sapphire, Omega Ruby, and Alpha Sapphire), and the player has to use either Treecko, Torchic, or Mudkip to save him.
They have the same starting moveset in Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald, which was later expanded into 3 moves per Pokémon in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.
Wynaut
The old woman by the sand baths in Lavaridge Town will give the player a Wynaut Egg.
Castform
The staff of the Weather Institute will give the player a Castform for saving the facility from Team Aqua.
Kecleon
There are eight set encounters with Kecleon accessible via the Devon Scope throughout Route 119 and Route 120.
Fossil Pokémon
The player may choose between between the Root and Claw Fossils in the Mirage Tower, while the other fossil will be available to them in the Desert Underpass after entering the Hall of Fame. The fossils can be revived into Lileep and Anorith at the Devon Corporation headquarters in Rustboro City.
In Ruby, Sapphire, Omega Ruby, and Alpha Sapphire, the player may only choose one of these fossils, and the other fossil is permanently lost.
Beldum
After the player has entered the Hall of Fame, Steven will leave a Beldum as a gift for them in his cottage in Mossdeep City.
Super-ancient Pokémon
Pokémon Emerald is the only Hoenn-based core series game where both Groudon and Kyogre are available without trading. A level 45 Groudon is exclusive to Ruby and Omega Ruby, while a level 45 Kyogre is exclusive to Sapphire and Alpha Sapphire.
Rayquaza is available in all the Hoenn-based core series games.
Groudon
After entering the Hall of Fame, a researcher inside the Weather Institute will occasionally tell the player about harsh sunlight on either Route 114, 115, 116, or 118. At the specified route, they will discover a newly formed cave - the Terra Cave, where Groudon has been resting since its battle with Kyogre.
Kyogre
After entering the Hall of Fame, a researcher inside the Weather Institute will occasionally tell the player about torrential rainfall on either Route 105, 125, 127, or 129. If the player Dives in a newly created trench of deep water, they will discover the Marine Cave, where Kyogre has been resting since its battle with Groudon.
Rayquaza
Rayquaza is found sleeping on the roof of the Sky Pillar, after the player quells the fight between Kyogre and Groudon, and it can be challenged as soon as the events in Sootopolis City are resolved (as opposed to Ruby and Sapphire, where Rayquaza is available as soon as the player enters the Hall of Fame; in Omega Ruby, and Alpha Sapphire, the player is required to finish the Delta Episode before meeting Rayquaza).
Rayquaza is found at the same level and moveset in Ruby, Saphire, and Emerald; it has the same level with a different moveset in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.
Legendary titans
The caves where the legendary titans can be caught can be accessed only after visiting the rear of the Sealed Chamber with a Wailord in the lead spot of the party and a Relicanth in the last spot (as opposed to Ruby, Sapphire, Omega Ruby, and Alpha Sapphire, where Relicanth is the lead and Wailord is at the last spot).
Regirock
In Emerald, to solve the puzzle leading to Regirock in the Desert Ruins, the player must read the Braille inscription in the rear of the lobby, then go two steps left, then two steps down, and then use Rock Smash.
Conversely, in Ruby, Sapphire, Omega Ruby, and Alpha Sapphire, the player must go two steps right, then two steps down, and then use Strength.
Regice
In Emerald, to solve the puzzle leading to Regice in the Island Cave, the player must read the Braille inscription in the rear of the lobby, then must make a counterclockwise lap of the chamber, sticking close to the walls.
Conversely, in Ruby, Sapphire, Omega Ruby, and Alpha Sapphire, the player must read the Braille inscription in the rear of the lobby, then wait two minutes without moving.
Registeel
In Emerald, to solve the puzzle leading to Registeel in the Ancient Tomb, the player must read the Braille inscription in the rear of the lobby, then use Flash in the center of the room.
Conversely, in Ruby, Sapphire, Omega Ruby, and Alpha Sapphire, the player must use Fly in the center of the room.
Eon duo
After entering the Hall of Fame, the player will see a news broadcast about a Pokémon roaming Hoenn. The player's Mom will then ask what color the Pokémon was.
- If the player answers "Red", a level 40 Latias will be the roaming Pokémon, while a level 50 Latios will be available on Southern Island. They have the same level and moveset as in Pokémon Ruby.
- If the player answers "Blue", a level 40 Latios will be the roaming Pokémon, while a level 50 Latias will be available on Southern Island. They have the same level and moveset as in Pokémon Sapphire.
In Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald, the Eon Ticket is required to access the Southern Island.
Latias
Latios
Johto Starters
Professor Birch will give the player either Chikorita, Cyndaquil, or Totodile after completing the Hoenn Pokédex.
Sudowoodo
Sudowoodo is located in the southeast section of the Battle Frontier. Much like in Generation II games, NPCs will talk about it as a tree. However, when the player uses the Wailmer Pail on it, it will spring to life.
Mew
If the player has an Old Sea Map, they can take a ferry to Faraway Island. Here, the player can catch Mew. The Old Sea Map was only ever distributed in Japan, so the event remains Japanese-exclusive.
Lugia and Ho-Oh
In Pokémon FireRed, LeafGreen, and Emerald, if the player has a MysticTicket, they can take a ferry to Navel Rock. Here, the player can catch Lugia in its depths, and Ho-Oh at its peak.
Deoxys
In Pokémon FireRed, LeafGreen, and Emerald, if the player has an AuroraTicket, they can take a ferry to Birth Island. Deoxys is always in its Attack Forme in FireRed, Defense Forme in LeafGreen, and Speed Forme in Emerald.
