(Japanese: プロトーガ Purotoga) is a Water/Rock fossil Pokémon introduced in Generation V.
It is resurrected from a Lid Fossil and then evolves into Abagoura starting at level 37.
Biology
Physiology
Purotooga resembles a baby sea turtle, or more specifically a leatherback. It has a black upper beak and “mask,” and black spots on the edges of its front flippers as well. Its black shell has inscription-like spiral patterning on it.

Purotoga's shell is very tough and can dive down to depths as much as 1000 meters.

Habitat
Purotoga once live in the oceans long ago, sometimes coming ashore to eat. Today, the Pokémon is considered extinct after millions of years.
Diet
Purotoga are carnivorous, coming on the shore for prey.

Purotaga appears to be based on a baby sea turtle, more specifically, a leatherback.
Name origin
The toga in Purotoga's name may be a corruption of the Spanish word for turtle, tortuga. Considering its ancient origins, its name may also be derived from proto.
