- If you were looking for the villainous team, sometimes abbreviated to TR, see Team Rocket.
A Technical Record (Japanese: わざレコード Move Record), or TR for short, is a type of item introduced in Generation VIII that can be used to teach a Pokémon a move. They are single-use items that are consumed after use, making them functionally similar to TMs prior to Generation V. However, TRs differ in one respect: once a TR is used to teach a Pokémon a move, that move can later be relearned from the Move Reminder for free if forgotten.
In Pokémon Sword and Shield, TRs are found in the Wild Area, where they can be received as rewards for completing Max Raid Battles or can be exchanged for Watts with Watt Traders throughout the area. In The Isle of Armor, TRs can be found throughout the island or created by combining specific items with the Cram-o-matic.
Fling can be used if the user is holding a TR. Its power is equal to the listed power of the contained move, defaulting to 10 if the move does not have a listed power.
List of TRs
Incompatible Pokémon
Although most Pokémon are able to learn a wide range of TR moves, there are 8 Pokémon who cannot learn any outside of their natural level-up moveset. Typically, these Pokémon are low in their evolutionary line or rely on a set moveset.

Near-universal TRs
With few exceptions, all Pokémon who are compatible with TRs can learn the following moves:

TR-exclusive moves
There have been moves exclusively taught by TRs:
