Mega Evolve—Luck of the Draw (Japanese: 吉か凶かのメガシンカ！ Mega Evolution of Good Luck or Bad Luck!) was a special co-op event in Pokémon Masters EX. It was focused on the sync pair Grimsley (Kimono) & Absol.
The "Grimsley Variety Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Grimsley (Kimono) & Absol for the duration of the event.
During this event, players could take on Grimsley (Kimono) & Absol in co-op battles, but they could not use the "Create Your Own Team" option to challenge these battles. Grimsley (Kimono) & Absol had the passive skill Head Start 6, allowing them to use their sync move and Mega Evolve immediately. The battle "Challenge Grimsley" could be challenged an unlimited number of times, but the battle "Challenge an Intimidating Grimsley" could only be challenged once per day. Players could complete event missions by completing these battles a certain number of times, earning 5★ Power-Up Tickets and Co-op Sync Orbs.
In addition, limited-time Gym missions were available from the start of the event to May 29, 2025, rewarding players for completing battles in the event a certain number of times. Players could earn Gems by completing solo missions and Gym Scout Tickets B by completing group missions.
In conjunction with this event, tiles that can be activated for zero energy were added to the sync grids of all Mega Evolution sync pairs that were able to Mega Evolve upon release, excluding Arc Suit Cynthia & Garchomp and Arc Suit Steven & Metagross. These tiles are available at move level 1 and increase the power of their sync moves by 90.
